“Griffin is gentle, soft-spoken, and was sweet and patient with our timid little dog. We really appreciated that he sent us photos during our dog’s stay, which was reassuring that she had settled in and looked plenty comfortable. Although he lives in an upstairs apartment with a balcony, he took our dog out regularly, several times a day. He was conscientious, and communicated well.”

“Sarah and Anthony were the perfect sitters for our little dog. They also have a big dog and small dog to keep her company. Their house is very dog friendly as are they, thank you so much for taking such good care of her and sending pictures. This experience could not have been better!”

“Angeline was amazing! She sent pictures and kept us updated with how our dog Bambi was doing. She cleaned all our stuff we packed for her too: blankets, bowls, etc. She has a really nice space and backyard, and Bambi had so much fun!”

“Journey was absolutely amazing! I will take Maverick to stay with Journey anytime we are in the area and need a safe and friendly place for him. Maverick was so content and did not appear to be stressed in anyway. 5 golden stars!!”

“Everett always has a great time with Joshua! He is so happy when he realizes that that’s where we’re going (and as I’m handing him off, he barely looks back to say goodbye! He’s ready to get right to playing) and when I pick him up he’s relaxed and well cared for! Thank you, we will keep booking here! And a special shout-out to Joshua, who is always quick to respond and is very helpful and flexible!”

About: I've taken care of animals for 15+ years. Weather it was my own animal or a friend or families I was always there to give potty breaks and train them on proper care. I also train dogs and have many years of experience training dogs to do various commands such as sit, down, roll over, and crate training. This will be my full time job so I'll have plenty of time to dedicate to your furry friend. I do have a dog and cat of my own but they are great around other dogs. I live in an apartment in the middle of campus. There is unfortunately no backyard but I ensure that your dog will get many walks and potty breaks and playtime.
About: I love dogs, and can't wait to meet yours! I will closely follow your instructions to provide the kind of care I would expect for my own dog. I'm willing to work with you and your schedule. I'm a firm believer in the power of clear communication and honesty. You can expect regular updates, lots of love, attention, and with permission, a moderate amount of treats. My fenced yard is sufficient for pee breaks and I'm in a great location to walk over to local parks for number twos and exercise. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you, and meeting your dog! I'm looking forward to spending my days off with your dog! I'm especially interested in long walks with chill dogs. Always positively reinforcing good behavior with praise, attention, and play. I have a fenced yard. I'm willing to spend lots of time with your dog, doing whatever it is they love to do. My availability is my weekends so that dogs in my care will not be left alone.
“Cory, Matthew and their daughter were gentle and patient with our little timid dog. They were accommodating in feeding, treats, and bedtime routines to make her comfortable, and even gave her some snuggle time in the morning. They have a great setup in their home and back yard for a dog, and ours came home healthy and happy. We’d gladly ask this family to board our beloved pooch again!”

About: I've raised 2 puppies who spent their whole life with me. I've adopted 1 rescue and 1 senior. They have had health issues (particularly the rescue and senior) so I'm familiar with some of the early and intermediate signs. We are now at a point in our lives where we want to still spend time with dogs, but we aren't looking for the 24/7 commitment. So we would like to host your furry baby for a night or a weekend and give him all the joy of a good friendship without the kennel experience of a dog hotel. We will be taking on pet care Friday thru Sunday. We may be able to support an emergency during the week, but since we both work full time, that would mean I would need to work from home for a day (which is pawsible with notice). However, it would not be our preferred schedule. We want to spend time with your dogs playing and relaxing - not just leaving them in an unfamiliar space while we are at the office. We are looking for day or overnight services on the weekends when we are free and planning to be home. We would expect you to bring enough food and medication to last their expected stay plus 1 day (in case of unforeseen circumstances). Then leave the rest to us. We will give regular bathroom breaks and play times (no yard), much love and pets and be vigilant about your recommended food/medicine. We do not look forward to creating your animal. So we expect at least one of us (husband or wife) to be home at all times and we expect your dog to be housebroken.

“Valerie’s home environment is perfect for our four-legged friends. My almost 2 year-old dog enjoyed his stay with Valerie and her daughter and the other dogs that she watches immensely. He came home happy and tired after playing with the other dogs for three days I am so glad that we got hooked up with Valerie‘s home 😃 Our dog he had a perfect time”

“Teresa was the best person we could have pick to leave our puppy with. She sent lots of pictures and eased our mind. We were so scared to leave her for the first time with someone we didn’t know, but we are glad we chose Teresa.”

“My dog had a great time with Cameron and her dog Bo. I was updated daily on the fun they were having. She treated my dog like part of the family. We will definitely use Cameron in the future.”

“Jonathan is an amazing pet sitter. My dog loves going there and is well taken care of and loved while he’s there. Jonathan is very professional has great communication. Highly recommended.”

“Alysha took amazing care of Woody, and he got lots of love and exercise while staying with her. The text updates were great and very reassuring to hear our boy was doing well. We were very impressed with the ease of booking and the price. We will definitely book with Alysha again for any future dog sitting needs! Thank you again Alysha!”
“10 stars! Elizabeth has a great love for dogs. Mochi was in the best care with her. She took him in like he was her own. She made sure he had so much fun with so many outings, doggy play dates, and snuggles. She had great communication throughout. We highly recommend her and will definitely reach out to her again in the future.”

“Ruthie instantly earned my trust for watching Marlin. Ruthie is a compassionate, attentive, and detail-oriented human who has a clear and natural intuit for dogs, and adores and respects them as the whole, wonderful beings that they are. It was impossible to miss that she held Marlin’s complete and total admiration when I came to pick him up. If that weren’t enough evidence, Ruthie’s wonderful updates and beautiful photos of Marlin clearly having the time of his life would be! Ruthie, thank you so much for your friendship to Marlin, and your understanding. it’s meant a lot. We’ll be happy to see you again soon!”

“Mahalia was great with my German Shepherd during a multi-day stay. She was friendly and easy to work with from our first meeting through pickup. I really appreciated the open communication and daily photo updates, which showed my dog was happy and well cared for. I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog with her and would definitely book with Mahalia again.”

This is the second time that we used Susie. The first time was just overnight, but this was over a week and she was amazing! She was in constant communication with us and sent photos every day. Bowser was very happy to see us but equally excited to want to stay with Susie! We will continue to use Susie whenever we need someone to puppy sit!

Natalie is amazing. She was available at the last second even was able to take him in a day early. I was no questions asked and it wasn’t an issue at all. He was excited and happy to be with her the whole time so I appreciate Natalie and her service. It was amazing.

Ruthie was amazing! We left our dog Bowie with her for a week. Bowie has significant separation anxiety and that this was a hard thing for him. Ruthie and her dog Welly were good, steady companions for Bowie throughout. Even when Bowie unexpectedly had to go to the vet and he needed extra care while we were gone, Ruthie saw him through all of that. Knowing that Bowie was safe and well-cared for while we were away made our trip possible. Ruthie was the perfect person to care for our dog while we were away -- thank you, Ruthie!

Landen was awesome and very accommodating! Although I ended up canceling because I decided to bring my dog with me, Landen still went out of their way to come to my apartment, pick up the keys, returned it and was incredibly understanding throughout the whole process. I kept the booking because I really appreciated the time and effort they put in despite not getting to watch my dog. I would definitely book with Landen in the future!

Dez is an amazing pet sitter! I got regular updates about my pup and felt extremely at ease knowing she was well taken care of. All questions were answered promptly and Kibou had a blast on her little vacation wtih Dez. I would absolutely trust Dez to watch any pets any time! :)

Emma took amazing care of Rusty while we were away for 4 weeks in Germany. It’s always hard leaving a pet for that long, but he felt right at home with her immediately. He also absolutely loved hanging out with her dog, Ghost, and they got along perfectly. I had total peace of mind the entire month. I would book with her again anytime and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a loving, trustworthy sitter!

Jessi was unbelievably kind and accommodating for my special needs dog. Even though I told her not to bother sending pictures because we would be out of cell range - when we got service back I was welcomed with a bunch of happy pictures! Nova didn’t want to leave, which is seats a great sign!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
