“Hailey was wonderful. She and her family took great care of our pup while we were away and updated us frequently with daily activities and photos. From the meet and greet to the pickup it was obvious he was in good hands and got all the love and attention he deserves! She was attentive, kind and respectful, plus her dog was friendly and a great playmate for our dog. Highly recommend Hailey, we hope to board with her again!”

“My dog has a great time with Bradley. He seemed very happy and got plenty of attention and activity. Bradley wa great in communication, genuine affection for pups. I’d definitely look to Bradley in the future for dog sitting.”

“Ashely was amazing with Nalu! He stayed with her for 9 days and when I picked him up he was sad to leave! He had a hot spot that needed to be treated with medication and she was good with applying the medicine and it was pretty much healed by the time I picked him up. She gave me updates with pictures and videos throughout his stay too! We’ll definitely be asking her to watch Nalu again!”

“Danielle really came through for me at the last minute, I'm so grateful! She was very kind and attentive with my dog, Esther, sending adorable pics and updates. Esther is an anxious girl, but she seemed to relax in Danielle's home, it really put me at ease. Thank you again!”

“Our best friend, Calamity Jane, had a wonderful time with Tania. This is the longest time apart for us and Tania texted daily and sent pics and vids showing our furry pal having fun and looking happy. We're delighted with Tania, will be return customers and can recommend unconditionally.”

“Gayle is the absolute best! She sends lots of update, pictures and videos and is very flexible with owner’s needs. My dog is so excited to see Gayle and her dog Sitka, he just runs in her house, he doesn’t even look back to say bye to me 😢🤩😊.”
“Mason was very friendly and responsive! She took good care of our sweet girl Ziggy for a few days. I know Ziggy had alot of fun hanging out and playing with the other dogs, she came home happy and relaxed! 😊”

“Tawna and John took a very last-minute request to keep our dog overnight, which saved the day! They were communicative and accommodating. We will definitely consider them for future trips!”
About: I have taken care of animals since the day I was born, I have had 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 chickens, 5 hamsters, 2 Guinea pigs and 3 fish in my life time and have a heart for animals. They really do have something special about them! I’m currently working part time at Dutch bros and I’m in a sling at the moment, I had shoulder surgery which gives me even more free time to play with your pets !! I have a fenced yard and live in a neighborhood, love to go one walks and have 2 dogs and a cat living in my house currently they are all friendly to other animals!!
“She took wonderful care of my dog, who can sometimes be a bit of a challenge, and handled her with patience and kindness. I received many photos showing my dog happy, comfortable, and enjoying time with her loving family, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear my dog was being treated like part of the family, not just being watched. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and attentive to care for their pet.”

“Karlie was very flexible and easy to plan with. Her house is very dog friendly and her pup, Dresden, is a great playmate! Our dog didn’t care when we left at drop off because she was already having so much fun.”

About: I grew up on a farm caring for and feeding many animals. I bring hands-on experience, patience, and love, ensuring every pet feels happy and safe. I’m a college student with mostly online classes, so I have a flexible schedule! I love spending lots of time playing, cuddling, and caring for pets every day. I live in an apartment with three friends who also love animals! Together, we create a safe, clean, and loving environment where every pet feels happy and cared for.
“Candace is the best! She was so loving and patient with our little Maizie. I didn’t worry about our baby, even though it was her first time away from home. She had a blast at “summer camp” with new big-brother Wilbur. Maizie says she can’t wait to come back. Thank you for everything, Candace!”

“I had a great experience. I received daily updates, which I really appreciated, and communication was easy throughout. Pickup and drop-off were smooth and convenient. Very satisfied with the care provided.”

About: I worked at a pet boarding facility for a 7 years before I moved. I am a fast learner and choose to have the pet accept me before moving on to anything else. I shadowed groomers and vets to be sure the road I was taking would assure me happiness with animals and still plenty of time with my own animals. Working with the boarding facility I learned pets are different without there parents and can act differently around them so learning their likes and dislikes personally is a must for me. I want to make sure Pets and Parents are happy with me as help. I want both parties to feel safe, happy, and well rested when staying with me. I am currently working part-time with a flexible schedule. I would be able to come for an early morning and evening walk or adventure if needed. I have two dogs that are high energy. We often go to parks, take long walks, or swimming during hot days. I do have a kennel and a large vehicle for transport.

“Great caretaker! Kaela and her family were so friendly and treated Suki like one of their own. Couldn’t have asked for better care or communication. Her puppy blue is a sweetheart as well. Great family to take care of your pup and I would let them take care of Suki again in a heartbeat!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
