We were nervous to leave our cat with someone else for the first time, then we met Zuri we felt confident that Margot would do just fine! Drop off went great. The communication was impeccable. She sent us pics and kept us in the loop at all times. She was flexible and understanding with our schedule changing. Zuri is an amazing pet sitter! We were so pleased.

Pakuna was wonderful! She sent updates, pictures, and videos. My dog was grinning ear to ear in every picture and he played great together with Pakuna’s dog, Xena. We will definitely be using her services again and I highly recommend her care. She took my dog for regular walks, and even for a drive and to a local park. He probably thought he was on a vacation!! I am so grateful to have found Pakuna through Rover as my first time experience with the app. Everything has been great!!

Karlie was very flexible and easy to plan with. Her house is very dog friendly and her pup, Dresden, is a great playmate! Our dog didn’t care when we left at drop off because she was already having so much fun.

Steven and his partner were great with Parker (who can definitely be a handful at times) but they said he did awesome during his stay. Parker had so much fun with them and his two dogs Shasta and Jasper. They even took videos and photos for me to see how he was doing. Parker didn't want to leave he loved them and I'm sure he had so much fun while I was away. 10/10 recommend and will definitely use them again anytime I need a sitter for Parker in the future.

Rebooked with Tania, it's such a nice feeling when you can leave your pet with somebody and know that they will have a good experience and will be loved and taken care of. I hope she never moves or leaves because I don't know what I would do!! LOL!! And Nala had a new bestie not only with her pup but with Tania. Thank you again for watching our baby girl Nala. I cannot recommend her enough

Excellent communication, the pups were well cared for, and we were kept informed during their time away from our family. Was so nice to see the space and know they were not just in a kennel and alone. Definitely worth it!

About: I have taken care of family/friends dogs since I was little, I have also taken care of my own since I was a teenager. I have two puppy's one who is 3 years old who is my best friend, I also have an 1 and a half year old who is also my best friend. I love all animals. I can help train a bit with basics if need be, am very patient and caring. I am able to take on walks, to the park or just hang out if needed. I can also give baths if they need one. I understand all dogs are unique and have different needs and am willing to help. I currently work part time, Monday through Thursday. So I will have plenty of time to check in on, take on walks/ to parks and just play with your animals. I can also bring my dogs along for other dogs if you would like so they have someone to play with or just learn to be around other dogs! I can either take care of your pet in your home or in mine if needed. I do have a fenced yard and 2 dogs of my own. Who are friendly with other dogs and can play/ keep your dog company if you would like. I know how crates work and am willing to learn the routine you have for your animal. (Food/crate/sleeping habits).

We met Gayle while searching for somewhere to board our dogs for two weeks. This past weekend we left them with her for a quick get-away and practice stay. I have never been happier. Gayle kept us up to date, sent pictures, answered all our concerns (one of our dogs is "special-needs"). We picked up two happy, healthy, tired dogs and we know they'll be in good hands with Gayle for future stays. Highly recommend!

About: I am an animal lover at heart and I have a degree in biology, so I enjoy learning about animals, how best to take care of them, and how to read their body language. I began my pet sitting journey in middle school, when I often helped feed my neighbors cat and make sure he took his medicine. Since then, I've had the opportunity to walk a neighbor's dog on a regular basis for a year, and help out in various animal shelters (walking dogs, playing fetch, and helping to reinforce training). In the winter of 2021, I spent two months in Alaska helping a couple take care of their 21 (!) sled dogs, as well as their two house dogs and occasional foster puppies that I helped begin to train. Taking care of the sled dogs was a twice-a-day task that involved cutting up fish, measuring out different amounts of food for each dog, learning each dog's name and personality, keeping track of the dogs while they ran around the property, and shoveling out their kennels. At times I would have three puppies in my arms at once, or have to feed late at night in the snow and cold, so I am no stranger to hard work! I also helped feed the couple's three Icelandic horses. In addition, I have professional animal care experience as part of an environmental education job with 4-H, through which I've taken care of several species of reptiles (I love snakes!), amphibians, and fish. I also have some experience handling birds. So if you have pets that fit into those categories and need help with feeding while you are away I would be happy to help out! :) I work 8:30-5 on weekdays and am free most weekday evenings, and most weekends. My work is flexible though, and I can usually take time off during the day to do drop in visits if needed! I am able to watch your pets in my home, but I would also be comfortable staying at your home to take care of your pets.

We had such a wonderful experience! 🐾 They took amazing care of our dog, treated him with so much love, and even took him out for fun activities. Our pup was so happy staying with them—it’s clear they truly care about dogs. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommend!

About: I absolutely love animals and live in a great location to go on walks through the park or playing fetch in my yard. After my dog of 11 years passed away last winter, I’m looking to help care for other dogs until I’m ready for another dog of my own. I work from home and can easily care for pets during the week or over the weekend. My flexible hours makes it ideal for daycare or boarding services. At my house, dogs are part of the family and are cared for with love and affection. I have a fenced in backyard and live close to several parks for outside adventures. I love going on afternoon walks/runs and have a flexible schedule to provide for all your pet’s needs while in my care. The home environment, is quiet, loving, and great for evening snuggles before bed. My goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for your pet allowing you to enjoy your time away worry free.

They have a great fenced property and are friendly and caring. It worked out great for a quick overnight stay on our road trip. Highly recommend!

Kathrine is an AMAZING sitter! I went out of town for 5 days and left my pup with her at her home. I immediately felt comfortable leaving her there when I dropped her off. She sent pics, videos, and updated me on all things (eating, pooping, etc.). Her dog, Ophelia, was the sweetest companion and I could tell her and my dog were besties from the pics she sent! They went on multiple walks a day, and even a weekend adventure! I will definitely be using Kathrine again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
