“Gabriella took wonderful care of our kitties! We knew they were in great hands with her specialized knowledge and attention to their needs. Certainly hope to rebook with her again in future!”

“Emily was amazing with our dogs! She kept us updated every visit with sweet pictures, and it was clear how happy and relaxed they were in every one. She spent quality time playing with them and made sure they were tired out and content by the end of each visit. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in such caring hands. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who truly loves and connects with animals!”

“Our second time using Brandy and always she was great! We had a long day away from the pup and Brandy was able to come in and feed her and let her out for many potty brakes, thus making our time away more enjoyable for us to be away knowing our pup is being cared for! ❤️”

“Thank you, thank you! Because of you I was able to go out of town for a much needed day trip to visit my daughters and an aunt without the worry of having to rush home to take care of Zeus. It’s been a very stressful few weeks. You’ve been great to work with and hope to call on you again.”

“This was our first time having Alyssa as our house sitter and it was for quite a long stay. I’ve had some challenging experiences in the past, but Alyssa made me feel very secure in her ability to take care of all the animals. She was communicative, reliable and overall just had great energy about her. We feel really fortunate to have found her and we hope to use her in the future! Thank again Alyssa, we really appreciate you!”

About: Animals have been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. I've had cats since birth, cared for large dogs for the past 10 years, and have owned snakes and other reptiles for more than 20 years. This experience has given me a great understanding of the unique needs, personalities, and behaviors of many different types of pets. One of my greatest strengths is building trust quickly with animals. I take the time to meet each pet where they are, learn their preferences, and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Whether your pet is full of zoomies, or prefers to hide under the bed, I adapt my approach to what works best for them. I understand that pets are family - they are for me too. I can't imagine my life without my pups, and I treat every animal in my care with the same patience, kindness, and respect I give my own. Whether you need pet sitting, drop-in visits, walks, feeding, or just plain companionship while you're away, you can feel confident knowing your beloved pet is in caring and experienced hands. I am a teacher and am currently off for the summers so my hours are flexible. During the school year I can help weekends and evenings. I follow your instructions and care plans as you know what’s best for your pet. My goal is for your animals to feel that while they miss you, their routine and schedule has remained the same so they feel safe and loved.
“Makenna was amazing! She is quick to respond, communicative, and really sweet. She got some amazing photos of my cats while I was gone and wrote some nice notes each day. My shy cat also seemed to warm up to her which was great. I will definitely rebook with her in the future if I get a chance to. Thank you for taking care of the kitties, Makenna!”

About: My family has owned cats since I was a child. For any family or friends I would take their dogs out for walks, play time, and even stayed overnight with them if needed! I do have professional experience from doggy daycare for 2 years which included play time, walks, baths + grooms, nap times, feeding schedules and medications, boarding and much more! I have personal experience training dogs as well, patience is key. I have even trained my own kitties to do tricks! I work full time but I am able to leave early almost every day and then I do something else to fill in the rest of the day. I am available late afternoon-night. The days I can pet sit are after and before work Saturday-Tuesday. My cats are all inside cats. Two need lot of attention and I give them as much cuddles as I can and loves. The other two also need a lot of love but they are shy so I always make sure they are comfortable before handling them. With dogs, I always make sure I’m doing exactly what I’m told by the owners. I’m a very patient person as well, so if a pet is shy or nervous I always stay calm, never push them, and I let them come to me on their own time so I can build the trust.
“Brianna was lovely! She took the time to meet my cat before confirming the booking and was very agreeable to all my many specific requests. I really appreciated that she was gentle and patient with my cat when she was shy and anxious about being around someone new. I highly recommend booking with Brianna! :)”

“Lindsay did a great job of doing drop in visits for our cats while we were away for 4 days! She was communicative and went above and beyond with updates and making sure everything was okay when we were away.”

“Did a great job, came by to meet Bailey who was pretty shy at first. Everything seems to have gone well and according to all the pictures we received Bailey was having a lot of fun with the attention.”

About: I was raised in a dog and cat household and loved taking care of them. For the brief time in my adulthood that I did not have a pet, I would dog/cat sit for a various families often. I am fond of elderly dogs/cats and have taken care a few (including giving medications, shots, cooking specific diets, etc). I am also comfortable feeding farm animals such as horses and mules. I work full-time from my home allowing flexible time to play and care for animals. My outings are usually quick errands around town so my pets get a lot of dog mom time! I am available to do longer stays given that I work remote and love making pets feel safe and comfortable whilst their owners are away. I have a fenced-in yard and 2 friendly dogs (lab and border collie mix) to keep your furry loved one company! I also play music often for myself and for the dogs. I find it helps soothe some anxiety for them as well!
About: I have been dog sitting for my neighbors and family members for around 2 years now. I love taking care of animals and making sure they are being well treated when being cared for. They trusted me to know what their dog needs and to love them I have my own cat named Dobby and everyday I feed him, care for him, and make sure all of his needs are met. I also make sure he is healthy and happy. I will make sure I ready instructions for your fur baby carefully to make sure no miscommunications happen. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
