“Jeff did a drop in visit for us so we could spend most of the day with our kiddos in Portland. He played with our dog and gave our dog and cat their dinners so we could relax and enjoy our day. All went great!”

“Gabriella took wonderful care of our kitties! We knew they were in great hands with her specialized knowledge and attention to their needs. Certainly hope to rebook with her again in future!”

“Great service, great price! Our woogs loves the walks so much we think she is learning to tell time so she can be right at the door ready to go 😅👍🏻. Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟! Just be on the watch out for when your pet(s) start(s) clock watching 🕔👀🐕🐈😲.”

“Ashley did a great job looking after my cats and had no trouble connecting with one of them that is very shy and easily scared by other strangers. She kept me updated at each visit too, which was appreciated.”

“Wow! Great experience. Henry Took the extra time to take Charlie for a walk… Took pictures for me and gave me an update when he left. The whole experience was very reassuring. Charlie also seemed more at ease when I got home… Having Henry visit with him definitely made a difference. We will absolutely be Booking Henry again.”

“Kelsey went above and beyond to check on my cats while I was gone. She took initiative with their care to make sure they were safe. Select Kelsey for peace of mind during your travels!”

About: I have taken care of multiple types of animals, I started pet sitting for neighbors around the age of 7. I have a deep love for all animals including reptiles, birds, and spiders! Im in school for psychology, so I have a fairly open schedule and I normally spend a lot of time outdoors anyway and i love to take dogs on walks I am offering multiple walks, feedings, and checkins as needed. I spend a lot of time with my pets, I even have a harness and take my cat on hikes. I have a deep love for animals and I prefer to spend my time with them
“Animals were well cared for! Hannah kept me constantly updated, and sent pictures every visit! My animals seemed so happy when we came back! Litters were clean, and the home was in good shape! Will definitely be booking with Hannah again in the future!”

“Shelby did a great job with our cat when we needed drop-ins. She is very prompt and took great photos/videos to make sure we knew our cat was safe and healthy. We will definitely be asking her back, and would recommend to anyone!”

“Alyssa was wonderfully attentive for the drop-in visits we scheduled to take care of our two cats. All of the instructions were followed precisely and she provided all the photos I requested (worried for a cat who doesn't eat well when we're not at home). She also provided great notes with context of what she observed during her visits. We met for a meet & greet at the house and to go over the care routine, and we were impressed with her pleasant and calm energy which is a must for any caretaker of our anxious cats. She provided not just the requested service but also peace of mind. Thank you Alyssa, we'll definitely be looking to book with you again!! 🙏😸”

“Emily is such a courteous and attentive sitter!! She gave frequent updates during check-ins, sent several photos and videos of my cat Michi, and she even let me know that each task for Michi was done and done correctly. She went the extra mile to ask clarifying questions and ensure Michi's care would go accordingly before I left. I highly recommend Emily and I will definitely be booking with her again! 😊”

About: I have a lot of hands-on experience with dogs. I have raised 6 dogs since they were puppies, so I’m very comfortable with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and basic training. I’m patient, responsible, and I understand how much attention and care dogs need, especially when they are young. I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. I am currently a full time university student taking online classes, so my schedule is very flexible and I have plenty of time to care for pets. Safety, trust & environment I treat every pet like my own and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I follow feeding schedules, provide plenty of walks and playtime, and always keep a close eye on pets. I have experience raising dogs from puppies, so I understand their needs and behavior. My goal is to make sure your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you are away.
“Elly was terrific taking care of my older cat Luna. It was very reassuring to have someone handle all of her meds and needs so well that I could relax and enjoy a few days off. She was wonderful with Luna, took care of everything requested and posted regular updates and pics. Highly recommend her.”

About: Hello, I love meeting new animals and visiting the pets in the animal shelter! I have had a puppy and 3 cats growing up and would love to work for you! I am currently able to work in the mornings and evenings everyday. I am a college student who misses her pet at home and considers pets like family. I have a cat and love my significant others dog like my own. I love animals like family and miss mine from home since I am currently living at college.
About: I've lived with my dog, Avery, for about 10 years back home, have cared for family friends' dogs when needed, have participated in fetch-a-friend multiple times with Heartland Humane Shelter, and I am very comfortable around cats as well. I can provide a very active few days running or walking for your pets, or I can keep them homely company while you are away. Since I have a car, if desired, I can take your pets to the park or just on short car rides. If your pets have any medications required, or specific eating/dosage times, I will make sure to set alarms to stay on time and dependable. My main job right now is DoorDash, so any time you need me to be available is free. My schedule can allow for week-long petcare, if needed, or just a short walk :3 I try my best to be friendly, understanding, and patient with any pets I interact with; if a pet is trying to tell me something, I will pay my best attention! Additionally, if a pet needs some space while adjusting to me or the lack of usual people around, I can provide that space while still keeping an eye on them.

Meredith was amazing with Bandit and made quick friends! She did a great job taking care of the plants and garbage as well, on top of being available for a week-long last-minute reservation. The fact that she's a vet tech is just the icing on the cake that put me completely at ease during my travel. Would absolutely recommend her services elsewhere! 🙂

Angel is absolute best. My cat loves her and she even found a new toy he likes despite not being the playful type. He’s a big cat and she did great job keeping cat boxes clean. No smell at all once we got home. Terrific, dependable and professional care can’t be beat.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
