“Arielle was amazing!!! This was our first time ever leaving our fur baby with anyone other than family! She made us feel so at ease & remained in contact with us throughout his stay! She sent us pictures so we could see how he was doing & it looked like he was on vacation!!! She accepted him last minute & he came home so content & exhausted from his playtime! We have definitely found Opi’s home away from home!!! If you’re looking for an awesome sitter for your fur baby, look no further!!!”

“Tawna& John were incredible! Their facility is well maintained and a wonderful place for our 3 dogs to be cared for while we were gone. They took extra care for our little senior, while our big dogs ran, played, and had a blast. We appreciated the photos and we could tell how happy they were, even our shy girl was all smiles! Communication could not have been better, which made everything all the better. Nothing is better than knowing our dogs were secure and happy — we could just relax and enjoy our vacation!”

“My dog was very difficult for Tania, but she went above and beyond and never made me feel at fault. She's incredible. No one in the world could've handled the situation better. I'm so very grateful.”

“We were nervous to leave our cat with someone else for the first time, then we met Zuri we felt confident that Margot would do just fine! Drop off went great. The communication was impeccable. She sent us pics and kept us in the loop at all times. She was flexible and understanding with our schedule changing. Zuri is an amazing pet sitter! We were so pleased.”

“Kathrine is an AMAZING sitter! I went out of town for 5 days and left my pup with her at her home. I immediately felt comfortable leaving her there when I dropped her off. She sent pics, videos, and updated me on all things (eating, pooping, etc.). Her dog, Ophelia, was the sweetest companion and I could tell her and my dog were besties from the pics she sent! They went on multiple walks a day, and even a weekend adventure! I will definitely be using Kathrine again in the future!”

“I was apprehensive leaving our 5 year old Vizsla anywhere. Philly took him for a walk to bond. He sent lots of texts and pictures. He was able to accommodate drop off and pick up times as we changed both times. He let him on the furniture and sat in a chair just like at home. He understands a high energy dog with lots of walks and ball play. He works from home so Odie was never alone. Such a relief to know he was in good hands. . We will definitely use Philly again.”

“Great care. First time my dog was boarded over night. My dog was happy and very affectionate toward Miriam when I picked her up. Great communication so I felt very comfortable”

“My dog has a great time with Bradley. He seemed very happy and got plenty of attention and activity. Bradley wa great in communication, genuine affection for pups. I’d definitely look to Bradley in the future for dog sitting.”

“My beagle stayed with Madlin for 4 days, had an issue with another arrangement while I was out of town and Madlin was able to handle everything (picked up my dog and helped both my beagle's stress and my own with great communication). She was a life saver for me and my dog loved her, would recommend her to anyone in the Salem area.”

“Michael was great! He was very kind, and gave me status updates. He treated my dog like part of the family. I would recommend him to everyone and will be using his services in the future whenever he is available.”

About: I have fostered over fifty dogs and cats for the SPCA of Northern Nevada, and fostered my cat Chandler as a kitten before adopting him. I have an open schedule with a lot of daily availability and my own vehicle, and can assist with pet care on weekends and weekdays. I am patient and loving to all pets, and have a strong understanding of the needs of different breeds of dogs and cats at different life stages. I live with my partner who has a year of experience working at a dog day care with a variety of pups, and has volunteered with me as a cat socializer as well.
“I’m so grateful I found Julie! I was nervous to leave my sweet girl with anyone since she has been struggling with some health issues. Julie was the best person I could’ve chosen. She was very understanding of my situation, of my dog’s health concerns and everything. She was very responsive and kind. My sweet girl had an amazing time with Julie and her family-she honestly didn’t seem to want to leave! She was happier and more energetic than I’ve seen her in a while. So grateful for Julie for offering her home and her care.”
“I would highly recommend Steve for caring for your pets. Our family went on a last minute trip and lucked out with finding Steve to watch our dog Arlo. We set up a meet and greet beforehand and he and his wife were so kind and hospitable. Arlo immediately felt at home. I received many photos and updates while we were away, and he was spoiled and loved on every moment with them! He didn’t want to leave when it was time to say goodbye. The best part is that we made some wonderful new friends and knew that Arlo was in good hands!”

“This was our first time boarding Ginny with someone who wasn’t family or close friends, so I was definitely nervous. Dezarae was so great and sent daily updates with photos and videos without us having to ask, which meant a lot. Ginny can have some separation anxiety with me and my partner, but the consistent updates (and little details about how she was doing, especially with crate time) really helped ease my mind. Ginny clearly had the best time. She got comfortable with Dezarae’s dogs quickly and loved being part of their routine. We also booked pretty last minute and she was very flexible and accommodating. Ginny came home happily exhausted in the best way. We would absolutely book with her again.”

“Great caretaker! Kaela and her family were so friendly and treated Suki like one of their own. Couldn’t have asked for better care or communication. Her puppy blue is a sweetheart as well. Great family to take care of your pup and I would let them take care of Suki again in a heartbeat!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sublimity
I’ve reviewed Elizabeth before, but I wanted to continue to let everyone know just how wonderful she is with our dog, Bobby Lee. He is not a fan of riding in cars, but once we’re about a block away from Elizabeth’s place, he gets super excited and happy! He loves going to her place, and that really says it all about how Elizabeth treats all pups she takes care of daily.

Josee is the best Dog Sitter. I know I have used her services three or four times and my dog just loves her and her dogs and she provides an excellent service. She always responds to your text on how your dogs doing. She takes the best care of your dog my dog loves it over there and I wouldn’t use anybody else. Thank you so much Josee for the excellent job that you do for my dog. You’re awesome.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
