“Our second time booking Alyssa and it was just as great as the first. She’s so patient with our little rescue Chiweenie and will absolutely be our go-to sitter going forward. I’d give her 100 stars if I could. ❤️”

“McKenna was amazing! This was my first time leaving my pups home for the weekend and having someone come house sit. McKenna helped put my mind at ease when we did the meet and greet. One of my pups left an unexpected surprise (my pup threw a tantrum and destroyed a furniture) for McKenna and she was so nice and cleaned it up for me. I came home to happy pups and I would recommend her. I’d have her back!”

“My experience with Melody was fantastic she went above and beyond, truly the best pet sitting experience I have had. This was a super last minute booking after my previous sitter cancelled and she responded immediately and was willing to take over and show up instantly. She was super communicative and made me feel very comfortable, even going as far as giving me updates when she was leaving the house for less than 30 minutes. Not only did she send plenty of adorable photos of my cats but she cleaned up as well leaving my house in better shape than I left it. I would recommend Melody in a heartbeat she is the best.”

“Laurel was an outstanding house and pet sitter. She communicated exceptionally well throughout her stay and regularly sent photos and updates, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. She was always responsive, professional, and easy to work with. It was clear that she genuinely cared for my Boston Terrier and home as if they were her own. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely hire her again in the future. Highly recommended!”

“We had an amazing experience with Alivia and would recommend her to everyone looking for a dog sitter! She took such good care of our dog while we were gone. He’s kind of anxious around new people and she was so kind and patient with him, she sent us videos of him wagging his tail and being goofy :)”

About: I have a tremendous love and respect for all animals. My attentive nature surges when in the presence of any animal… they are all I care about! I have been taking care of my family and friends pets for years! I can do special instructions with medicine for animals as well. I am currently working at Starbucks as a barista. My store that I work at is only 5 mins from my apartment. My shifts are normally no longer than 6 hours, and my boyfriend is home full time as well. Besides from work I am always home! I live in a cozy apartment with two of my own little kitties! I have a soft, large, playpen enclosure for your pet if needed, but my kitties are pretty friendly!
About: 🐾 Lifelong Pet Lover & Trusted Caregiver 🐾 Hi! I’m Isabella — a devoted animal lover who has grown up surrounded by both dogs and cats my entire life. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do; it’s truly part of who I am. From playful puppies to senior cats with special needs, I genuinely enjoy building trust and connection with every pet I care for. I currently own three cats, so I fully understand feline personalities — from the affectionate cuddle bugs to the independent observers. I also have hands-on experience administering cat inhalers, which means I’m comfortable caring for pets who require extra patience, attentiveness, and consistency. Your pet’s health and comfort are always my top priority. In addition to my personal experience, I’m a volunteer with the Humane Society, where I’ve worked with animals of all temperaments and backgrounds. This has strengthened my ability to read body language, adapt to individual needs, and provide calm, compassionate care — especially for shy, anxious, or rescue pets. I’ve also grown up with dogs and am very comfortable with their routines, energy levels, and unique personalities. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding schedules, or simply keeping them company, I make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away. I pride myself on being dependable, detail-oriented, and communicative. I follow instructions carefully and love sending updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I don’t just watch pets — I treat them like family. I’d love the opportunity to care for your furry companion and provide the same love and attention I give my own. 🐶🐱💙 I am available every week day, including weekends. I am available early morning and late nights, unless I specify otherwise. And if I do, it will be posted somewhere on my account. Whatever you need me to do with your animal, I can do. As long as me and the animal are safe and have a healthy environment, I am completely fine with taking care of the animal the way you need me to.
“Maddy was great with watching my home and 3 dogs! I found Maddy to be kind, communicative and thoughtful in how she treated my pups. I recommend her and will be using her again in the future for my pet sitting needs!”

About: I've been taking care of my families pets as well as the pets of my friends, and neighbors since I was a kid! We never had less than three animals in the house and would always watch over our neighbors pets when they were gone. I have also worked as a pet sitter for many other families in a more professional setting. Taking care of animals isnt always clean or easy but its worth it to me to see them happy. I do my best to treat your pets like family knowing that I would want the same treatment for my cat when I rely on someone to watch her! I am not available in the mornings unless I am taking care of them across multiple days. I am available in the afternoon and evenings both during the week and weekends. I am not able to keep your pets in my home because I have a very non-friendly cat. However I am more than happy to spend an afternoon with them at the park, take them on a short walk, or just stop in to make sure they are doing ok. I am also able to stay at your home or check on your pets multiple times per day if you will be out of town.
“Kelly went so above and beyond with our animals, we are so grateful we found her! She spent time with each and every one of our animals making sure they all felt comfortable. We won’t be going with any other sitter if we can help it in the future.”
“Chris was an excellent pup sitter for our black lab. We were nervous to leave our boy and it was our first time having a stranger in our home to care for him. Chris was kind and patient with Cayde and gave us frequent updates on how things were going. Chris put us at ease and left the home as he found it. We'd definitely have him return for future in-home pet sitting!!”

I also love a a good lounge day if thats what your pup needs.

About: I have fostered on and off with Hope’s Haven for years now and I am no stranger to puppies and seniors alike. I have dog sat since I was 14. I’m a college student at Chemeketa and would love to spend the time I am not studying getting my exercise in by getting out a dog’s energy. I have a cat, two rabbits, and a standard poodle at home. I know a lot about keeping peace and making sure everyone has their needs met.
“Tabitha was great! She kept me updated with photos throughout the stay and went above and beyond my expectations. She did an amazing job caring for Ellie, and I would definitely book with her again. 10/10”

“Cassandra did a wonderful job caring for out babies. She arrived on time , sent pictures , kept us updated on how they were doing ! When she came to do greet to meet our pets went to her immediately which they only do for someone they like and trust .that in itself was the top thing important to us. She is sitting again for us again and it feels good to have a pet sitter you can trust and know your babies are happy and loved .when we moved we lost the ones we had prior that was so hard to leave they as well were the best .it took us 2 years to finally find a new one .I highly recommend her !”

“ErinW🐕 was fabulous! She was patient and wonderful with my two senior girls Gemma & Loretta. Loretta is blind & needs extra attention.I was happy to hear updates, jealous of the fun they were having❣️I will definately be using ErinW again💕”

“This was my first Pet Sitter experience with Bradley and what I think stands out the most to me about Bradley is that he genuinely cared about and for our dog, Huxley, while we were away. I know a lot of people say that they love animals, but you could see the authenticity in Bradley as he greeted and played with Huxley. I highly recommend Bradley”

“Fantastic pet sitter! Aoife was very attentive to my pets and even stayed a little longer when my flight was delayed to make sure they weren’t alone too long. Highly recommend her! I will definitely book her again.”

About: Have 5+ dogs? Energetic kiddos that could benefit from mental stimulation? Couch potatoes that just want love and affection? All of the above? Whatever the case may be, you can rest assured that I will give your baby(ies) the best care and attention I have to give. I worked at a sanctuary for nearly two years and had the pleasure of working with a large pack of dogs. Working and caring for 50+ dogs at a time takes a different kind of attention and patience that definitely took time to learn, but I loved every second of it. I have experience with quite the variety of different dogs. From XS to XL, newborn to senior, fearful to aggressive, anxious to energetic, I’ve seen it all. I can also give medications if necessary, do a basic groom, and basic training. I’m also very comfortable with cats. Aside from having some myself for 8 years, I love learning about a new cat and understanding its habits/personality. I truly love all animals and creatures and am very open to helping care for any other pets you may have. Currently my only job is to be a dog & cat mom so my schedule is very flexible. Aside from recurring appointments that I attend, I’m open to working with what works best for you. I can work with any form of care that you give your babies. Every pet is unique and I can definitely switch gears depending on their personality and if they have specific needs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 812 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sublimity. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sublimity walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sublimity maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sublimity choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sublimity. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
