“Great care for our Minka! Consistent updates with pics. Daily trips to the dog park. Very pleased with the care of our dog. Will definitely continue to use them in the future.”

“Juno was well cared for and happy when I picked him up after staying with Erin. Great communication and daily photos. I would definitely book with Erin again.”

“I had a last-minute appointment I needed to keep and Cecilia was wonderfully accommodating. My kitties came home and settled back in, after spending the day with her. I appreciated her responsiveness and will use her again should the need arise :)”

“Jen and Josh are the best! I had a lot of anxiety about leaving my pup during an extended trip away for the holidays, but they were fantastic about sending me updated and pics/vids of my boy. They are super attentive to the dogs’ needs and behaviors. I would recommend them to everyone ?”

“Julie and her family were the perfect fit for my 1 year old Cane Corso pup, Nova. We did a meet and greet and Nova was at home with them right away. Nova was well taken care of the entire stay and was happy in all the updates. She got plenty of love, walks, play, and snuggling while she was with Julie. I'll definitely be a return customer. 😁 Thank you Julie & co.”

“Erika is incredible. She will care for your dog as if she were her own. My dog, Ziggy, loves her and enjoys being with her. Erika is responsible, reliable, and very caring. Erika is truly a wonderful person and a great dog sitter.”
“We felt so fortunate to find Brittany and her husband! They are truly lovely people that genuinely care for your fur family. We were so relieved when we dropped our dog off as he doesn't always do well around people. He was calm and chill when he met them. We visited two kennels before discovering Rover.com. We were so worried about leaving him in a kennel. This was our first time boarding our dog so you can imagine all of the sleepless nights worrying about his boarding experience. We feel like we won the lottery discovering Brittany and Eric. They kept us updated with videos and pictures. We really appreciated how they had a great understanding on how to work with him. He got to socialize with other dogs, and got lots of play time outside. He is very nervous dog and in every picture and video he was having so much fun. They are true dog people so if you want your dog to experience a true vacation then look no further.”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for over 30 years, and caring for them has become my lifelong passion. For the past five years, I’ve run my own professional pet-care business, building long-term relationships with clients who value trust, reliability, and genuine love for their pets. At Gentle Paws Home Care, I provide a calm, nurturing environment where dogs can feel safe, relaxed, and at home. Whether your pet is staying with me or I’m caring for them in your home, they’ll enjoy gentle routines, quiet walks, soft places to rest, and plenty of affection. For dogs who need a little more activity, I also offer my signature adventure walks—hour-and-a-half off-leash excursions that let your pup explore, play, and connect with nature in a balanced, mindful way. My references reflect the consistency, compassion, and professionalism I bring to every animal I care for. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness are always my top priority. With over 30 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages and personalities, I’ve learned how to make them feel safe, loved, and understood. To me, dogs aren’t just pets — they’re people with their own unique personalities, and I take pride in giving them the care and attention they deserve. I run volunteer groups at Zumwalt park and take a lot of pride in our doggy community there. In my home, pets are truly part of the family. I’m with them the entire time, so they’re never left feeling lonely. I have plenty of cozy dog beds throughout the house, and if your pup prefers, they’re always welcome to snuggle up in my bed at night. We enjoy two large walks a day (and often a third smaller evening stroll), along with snacks, games, and fun activities to keep them happy and engaged. When I provide care in a client’s home, I do my best to stick closely to the routine and schedule you’ve set. I know how important consistency is, so I keep things as normal and comfortable as possible while making sure your dog feels safe, loved, and cared for every step of the way.
“Ying has helped me taking care of Panda for more than one year. It is very cozy in Ying’s house. Ying takes Panda out for playing every day, which provides Panda with plenty of exercise and is very good for his health. He can even groom Panda by cutting its hair, giving it a bath, trimming its nails, plucking its ear hair, and expressing its anal glands. He has just moved to this platform, and this is the first order on Rover. Panda super likes to stay with Ying. Every time I tell Panda we're going to Ying's house, he gets very happy and eagerly waits for me to put on his collar.”

“Sarah and Anthony were the perfect sitters for our little dog. They also have a big dog and small dog to keep her company. Their house is very dog friendly as are they, thank you so much for taking such good care of her and sending pictures. This experience could not have been better!”

“Jonathan gave great care to our girls and he provided excellent communication. It is such peace of mind to have someone who cares looking after our girls when we need to be away.”

“Caitlin was easy to communicate with, and her house is perfect for pet sitting, replete with a grassy backyard and dog door. Comfy, clean, welcoming environment. You can tell she really cares for the pets in her charge. Future repeat customer!”

About: I've raised 2 puppies who spent their whole life with me. I've adopted 1 rescue and 1 senior. They have had health issues (particularly the rescue and senior) so I'm familiar with some of the early and intermediate signs. We are now at a point in our lives where we want to still spend time with dogs, but we aren't looking for the 24/7 commitment. So we would like to host your furry baby for a night or a weekend and give him all the joy of a good friendship without the kennel experience of a dog hotel. We will be taking on pet care Friday thru Sunday. We may be able to support an emergency during the week, but since we both work full time, that would mean I would need to work from home for a day (which is pawsible with notice). However, it would not be our preferred schedule. We want to spend time with your dogs playing and relaxing - not just leaving them in an unfamiliar space while we are at the office. We are looking for day or overnight services on the weekends when we are free and planning to be home. We would expect you to bring enough food and medication to last their expected stay plus 1 day (in case of unforeseen circumstances). Then leave the rest to us. We will give regular bathroom breaks and play times (no yard), much love and pets and be vigilant about your recommended food/medicine. We do not look forward to creating your animal. So we expect at least one of us (husband or wife) to be home at all times and we expect your dog to be housebroken.
“Julie was quick to respond and accommodating to board our Morgan for a night while we came to Eugene for an event. She is good at matching multiple dogs; she had three clients that night and they made a good pack. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back.”

About: I have been a responsible dog owner for 19 years with primarily large dogs. I am experienced with walking dogs, taking care of dogs in there own environments, and comforting animals. I have had to put dogs on dietary restrictions because of illness or reacting to their food. I can recognize when a dog is sick or not feeling well due to food or external forces. I know a great deal of trails, well maintained parks and sidewalks in town to walk dogs around where they will be safe and not threatened by speedy drivers. I love dogs and currently have two large Bernese Mountain Dogs and understand the responsibility of pets. I like dogs to be heavily socialized and given lots of pets and attention. I’m currently working from home and on summer vacation and have plenty of time for your animals! They will receive consistent care and get activity outside peak heat hours. I have a fenced yard both front and back, no dangerous plants or animals and my neighborhood is safe and a very low traffic area.
“Joe is great with our doggos! Lets them sleep on his bed, takes them for walks, and he’s careful with giving them their medications on schedule. They had a very nice time with Joe, and we will book with him again.”

About: All types of animals (cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, llamas, goats, sheep) have been part of my life forever. I love all animals, most of them more than humans! Currently 2 large dogs, 3 cats, 4 chickens and 1 human are my "family". Previously I lived on 36 acres and took care of my horse, 2 donkeys, a herd of goats and chickens. I recently retired and am looking to fill some of my time taking care of your animals and home. I am happy to take care of any types of animal and will provide love and care for your pets while your away. I recently retired from being an insurance agent for 20 years and am very flexible with my time and can be available for short or longer stays. I will take great care of your pets, will administer medications, walk them or play ball, keep them company while your gone. And I will treat your home and belongings with respect and keep it clean and safe.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Elmira
Malaia is the best sitter I have ever had. She kept me continuously updated on the care of my senior dog. She kept reassuring me that my fur baby was in good hands. My dog liked her and her fur babies from the moment they first met. I will let her keep my dog again very soon. I really like that the dogs have a nice yard to play in. She followed my instructions of giving my dog his food and medicine very well.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
