About: I have pet sit on Rover for over six years and am now transitioning to walks and drop in visits! I love taking dogs for long walks in our neighborhood, for runs (according to the dog's ability), and for hikes in Rock Creek Park. In addition to six years of pet-sitting on Rover, I have pet-sit for our siblings', friends' and coworkers' dogs for years and have had dogs of my own. We sadly lost both of our Great Danes to cancer, but have adopted two rescue Cane Corsos. They are nervous around other dogs, so we are not doing dog boarding anymore, but I’d love to walk your dog(s) (alone!) and visit your cats and give them all the individual attention they need! I work from home and am very active, running and biking daily. I love taking my own dogs for walks and would love to take yours - on individual walks - as well! I will go to your house and pick up your dog, following the route and instructions you provide! I have experience walking all types of dogs, including reactive, seniors, puppies, and a blind dog.
“Having Rakia walk our pup was perfect! She is communicative, friendly and on time. Luna came back very happy and tired from her walk, just what we needed! I would recommend Rakia and will be requesting her services again in the future.”

About: Currently my brother and I are working from home and don't mind having your dog here to accompany us. We love furry guests! I've had/watched dogs all my life ranging from teacups to great Danes, we love them all! Working from home 5 days a week (introverts for sure) we are available most week days and weekends. Our morning and afternoon walks for its nothing to add your fur baby! We have pups and dislike crates so I let them roam the house. If the house is too foreign I will limit them to the room im occupying with occasional backyard fun and 20/30 min walks. I also send pics daily/hourly depending on owners comfort level.
About: Lifelong experience with animals, I grew up on a horse farm. Experience with animal caretaking, raising, and training. I'm excited to meet new animal friends. I have previously worked as a vet assistant and am trained in administering meds. I am full-time pet-sitter. Please reach out if you have questions regarding scheduling, I will do my best to accommodate your pet and their needs. I'm familar with animal behavior and can recognize when a pet is stressed or uncomfortable. I am also careful to doublecheck leashes before going out for a walk.
“What a great experience! My dog was so happy in the pics I just couldn’t believe it! Many thanks to Selam and I look forward to using her services again in the near future.”

“We just met Allison for the introduction and it went so well. One of our dogs needs warm up time and she was patient and he went off for a walk with her. Warm, friendly and engaging.”

“Shanti is a fantastic dog walker and companion! She cares for my dog just like I would. She's patient and kind with him and we are so happy she spends time with our boy every week. :)”

“Over the past two weeks, Sydney has proven incredibly reliable and punctual, making sure Bodie gets his essential daily time out. Our dog always returns home happy, content, and clearly thrilled from their adventures. The photos Sydney sends from their walks are a highlight—helpful updates that let us see Bodie in action, whether he’s exploring or just being his goofy self.”

About: I have dog sat for my parents' dogs and friends' dogs, walking them, giving them food, and giving them medication. My parents' dog, in her old age, required eye drops and a series of pills which I administered, so I'm comfortable caring for senior pets. I have also volunteered for a cattery (cat shelter), playing with the cats and emptying out their litter boxes. I currently own a land tortoise, who has been in my care for 15 years. I also have experience caring for fish and hamsters. I work typically 9-5, but I have flexibility to walk dogs during the day, and often work from home. I love taking long walks and being active. I live in a pet-friendly building, with access to a back yard, and am comfortable with animals being in my home. I own my place. I also live steps away from Rock Creek Park and love being active and would enjoy taking active dogs on hikes and walks nearby.
About: I’ve cared for pets my whole life and really pay attention to each animal’s personality and needs. I’m comfortable with puppies, senior pets, and shy or anxious animals. I follow routines closely, give clear updates, and keep pets calm, safe, and comfortable. Owners can count on me to be reliable, patient, and genuinely caring. Pet care fits easily into my weekly routine. I work on a flexible schedule, so I’m able to plan my day around walks, drop-ins, and feeding times. I like starting the morning with a walk or check-in, and I make sure pets get the attention they need throughout the day. Evenings are usually open as well, which makes it easy to keep a steady routine for pets who need extra company or a later outing. I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and relaxed whether I’m in my home or yours. I follow your instructions closely, from feeding and medication to walk routes and house rules. I keep doors and gates secured, watch for any hazards, and make sure pets are never left in unsafe situations. I keep their routines steady so they feel at ease, and I stay in touch with regular updates so you always know how things are going. My goal is to create a calm, clean environment where your pet feels cared for and you feel confident they’re in good hands.
“Affrata is quite literally the best Rover/animal care giver we have ever had. She is so attentive and communicates about everything. She did a wonderful job with our dog and cat! I highly recommend her as a rover.”

About: I’ve been known to treat animals like my children. I create a special bond with all animals. I believe animals deserve the same care and love as humans do. I love seeing the joy in there eyes when you have given them or helped them accomplish goals. What sets me apart is my abilities to love them as my own. I believe animals are beautiful and compassionate souls who can give more love than they can receive. What also sets me aside from anyone else how attentive I am with each animal. Everyone deserves independent attention and communication. Dogs ,cats etc are just like us humans , they just speak a total different language. I love learning more and giving animals love. Love is all they need!

“Kasmin is truly a diamond in the rough! She was able to watch Iverson at a short notice and made sure he had an amazing holiday! If you thinking about using Kasmin, please dont hesitate! She is great!”

“Nicholas is reliable and cares so much for our dog. He’s flexible when we have a last minute need and communicative about what he’s able to do. We’re so grateful!”

“Pauline walked/fed our senior dog during the holidays and was so great! She made our dog feel comfortable, was super communicative and sent lots of pictures, and put our minds at ease while we were on vacation during the colder days of the year. Will definitely book with Pauline again in the future - thank you!”
