About: My mother used to train dogs when I was younger so I’ve been around dogs ever since I was born. My older brother has been taking care of dogs and boarding for years and I help him out with his process Right now I’m taking a break from school so I am available everyday! When I go back to School my schedule will remain mostly unchanged. I respect unfamiliar pets personal space until they get used to me, when walking dogs I am very observant of my surroundings making sure there is no danger. I typically let out my dogs 5 times a day for around 20-30 minutes when I was younger I loved to go on walks as well sometimes for over an hour.
“Yasaman (Yasi) took care of our fur babies while my husband was having major surgery in the city. It was when hurricane Ida came through, so she had terrible weather to deal with as well. She provided excellent communication and regular updates. She let me know immediately when she noticed a little blood in my dog's stool. She tired out my energetic corgis with some long walks. I appreciated the care she provided and appreciated not having to worry about them since I was stressed about my hubby. Highly recommend Yasi.”

About: I have raised three dogs through puppyhood, adulthood, and seniorhood (a pointer/border collie mix, Weimaraner/greyhound mix, and a Westie). I have been trained in puppy obedience and clicker training and pride myself on being able to work with any dog-- from anxious, temperamental pups, to rowdy balls of energy, to silly couch potatoes-- I am here to keep your fur baby happy, healthy, and safe in your absence. In addition to my own dogs, I have had the privilege of caring for countless other friends' and neighbors' dogs and cats, and since moving to DC from California have been volunteering at the Humane Rescue Alliance shelter as a sensitivity-minded dog walker and enrichment provider as well as a cat care provider. I love all animals and am happy to help! I am currently a full time graduate student with a very flexible schedule and available to accommodate pet check ins, walks, and additional responsibilities within my class schedule. Depending on the dog's behavior, medical history, and location I work to minimize risks to the pet's safety and remain alert and attentive to the dog's body language as well as our surroundings, regardless of whether we are outside or inside.
“Madaline does a great job walking our senior corgi. She is responsive and keeps us fully informed on how he is doing. It’s obvious that she really cares about animals and we’re happy to have her as our walker!”

“Anna is the best. She’s super competent, very affectionate with my dog, Mister Snitzel, who loves her. and he loves to play in the dog park with Anna, too. Snitzel always returns home nicely tired out from his walk, and conks out for about an hour. He has huge energy, that dissipates on his walk.”

“First walk with our boy Ziggy and she was great. On time, took him out to the dog park, he came back tired. All you can ask for! Super nice and asked all the right questions. We felt very comfortable with her.”

“Maham has been great company for our dog. He doesn’t like being alone. He’s calmer and not frantic when we return after she is with him. Mahan has been a ready help and always positive to connect with. We are grateful for her help..”

“Elliot just started walking Buddy and I can’t say enough nice things. Elliot is very responsible, shares information about their time together and Buddy liked Elliot from the jump!”

About: Hi everyone, My name is Rachel and I am a huge animal lover who is passionate about providing the best care and companionship for our furry friends. I have been pet sitting for close to 7 years now, through Wag and also with Rover. Experience in administering medicine for both cats and dogs and currently in process to be First Aid certified for pets as well! (As of July 2025) I grew up with animals, as I had taken care of my own dog-Misia, a coackapoo, for 10 years and my mother with her Havanese dog, Tomo, of 4 years (and on-going!) I lead an active lifestyle and take dogs out for a long walk or find fun ways to play with cats too. I want to make sure I can provide a tailored approach to make sure your pets' needs are met as a photo enthusiast, happy to take pictures and provide an update throughout a boarding and/or a sitting especially. Coming up close to 7 years of being a pet sitter for Wag, Rover and individual clients, I would be honored to be your reliable pet sitter! Currently my schedule is very open and flexible. I can accommodate a boarding at my apartment, as well as pet sitting/drop-in visits, as well for all days of the week. *Note for Boarding requests* I have another 4-year old Havanese dog (very friendly) at my apartment. Happy to have another dog for boarding but please read this note before booking a boarding request!** Thank you 😊 First and foremost what's important is that I understand the client's needs and their instructions on how to take care of their pets. Once you book my service, I would be more than happy to do an in-person meet and greet or a video call. If there are any further instructions (beyond what is listed on the Rover app), then I am happy to provide my personal email address if you would like to e-mail the instructions. These are the steps I take to ensure I can take care of the clients' pets in a safe and trusting environment.
“Daria did a great job walking my somewhat temperamental dog. She was very reliable and he was excited to see her every day. I would be very happy using her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I am a local professional interested in helping other pet owners with my dog walking and cat sitting services. I was raised in a home with cats and dogs and am very familiar with their needs. I have pet sit for other people's animals many times since then. I currently live with one cat. At this time I am offering dog walking services and will come to your home to pet sit a cat or dog. I am energetic and comfortable working with both large and small dogs. I am highly responsible and respectful of both your pets and your living space. I will diligently follow your instructions and keep your pet happy while you are away! Comfortable with providing medications and longer care requirements.
About: I am an animal lover without a pet of my own (thanks to lots of moving and travel). That said, I have been caring for furry friends on and off since high school. For the past three years, I’ve been the go-to caretaker for a friend’s cat in DC—and I never pass up a chance to walk a dog! I work a hybrid schedule—usually in the office just two days a week and at home the rest. With a pretty flexible (and relaxed!) work environment, I can often adjust my schedule with enough notice. So if I am staying in your home to care for your pet, will not be a problem to remain home caring for them. I tend to care more about others than myself (sometimes to a fault!), so when I am looking after your pet in your home, they will have my attention. I like to work in the same room as them whenever possible or check in regularly during breaks. If I’m dog sitting, you can count on them getting proper walks and plenty of attention. I always make sure they’re eating well and won’t hesitate to reach out if something seems off—better safe than sorry!
Friendship Heights dog parents share their Rover experiences
Gabriela has been doing great with my new puppy—a 10 month old lab mix rescue. I’ve only had my dog a month and she’s still a pretty untrained and unsocialized ball of hungry nervous energy and I’m so grateful for Gabriela’s calm competence and patience keeping my beloved monster safe and happy on walks while I’m at work!

Nicky is great! She is so good with Lila. In all my years of using Rover, I find that a lot of the providers treat these bookings as purely transactional. They do their job and that's it. No warmth, no sincerity. You can tell that she really loves animals. She has been very attentive to Lila's needs and is very communicative (with us AND Lila), asking questions, expressing concerns, and just giving general updates! We hope that Nicky will be able to continue caring for Lila. Definitely a diamond in the rough!

Ayah is magnificent with our dog, Berkeley. Walks, training and lots of loving is included in the wonderful package that Ayah delivers everyday. Berkeley goes crazy every time Ayah arrives at our home. They have become great friends - and we are thankful for Ayah’s tremendous care and attention she provides to Berkeley.

Anna is an incredible communicator. My pup and I are so lucky that we have found such a wonderful walk companion for her. She is a fun loving creature who needed someone with an understanding of her excitement on encountering other dogs as well as ensuring she has plenty of play.
