9. Johanna B.
About: Words can't express how much I've loved being a pet parent and loved caring for others' pets. I've had the joy of raising my 17-year-old cat from kittenhood; raising my bulldog, who I miss dearly, from puppyhood; and taking in our alley cat to give her a safe and warm last 2 years of life. I grew up with pets (cats, dogs, and birds) in the home, and in addition to my own, I've enjoyed years of professional experience caring for others' pets. I was a professional boarder in 2008, a professional dog walker and pet sitter from 2014 to 2017, and managed a local dog walking company from 2015 to 2017. I'm not a certified dog trainer, but working alongside trainers has given me some skills that help pets with challenges have a positive experience away from their people. I am available for overnight boarding in my home, daycare in my home, and overnight pet sitting in your metro-accessible home. I work from home, so I can keep your pet's routine consistent. I am able to provide baths upon request and I'm comfortable giving most types of medication. I know how difficult it can be to be apart from pets and to feel assured that their specific needs are met, so it is my habit to share regular photos and updates. I work from home, so I'm able to keep your pet's routine consistent. This includes meal and medication timing, timing and frequency of potty breaks, longer walks for dogs who need extra exercise, and helping to maintain house training in progress. Pets are allowed on furniture in my home, but I'm also happy to crate dogs if you prefer and enforce any no-furniture rules you may have at home and want to keep consistent. I live in a spacious 1-bedroom apartment close to Rock Creek Park, great for longer walks.

10. Alexander & Kari R.
“We couldn’t imagine a sweeter family to take care of our dog! He was calm and happy when we returned. The arrangement worked out perfectly.”

11. Remy S.

“Remy was great! Watched my dog for daycare and sent updates and was easy to communicate with. Would recommend!”

12. Eliana G.
“You will not find a better caregiver than Eliana. Eliana cared for our beloved senior dog Chloe whenever we travelled (and we travelled a lot - approx 60 days per year) from 2021-2023. To say that Chloe is high maintenance is an understatement. Aside from the medications she takes (Vetoryl, Galliprant, bladder control), she is extremely picky about her humans. Dogs know who is on their side, and she took to Eli like I have never seen her to take to another human that was not me. Aside from that, Chloe went nuts for Sebastian, Eli's dog. It was beyond heartwarming and life-affirming to see my 15 year-old-treasure light up whenever we packed her overnight bag once she associated it with a stay with Eli and Sebastian. Again, you will not find a better caregiver. Chloe always came home in better form than when we dropped her off. We could not have navigated Chloe's senior years in D.C. without Eliana.”

13. Andy G.

“Onyx had a great time with Andy and Cookie. Andy sent several pics and videos of them playing! Andy was also very responsive- great experience!”

14. Nicholas P.

“Nicholas looked after our dog Toby (schnauzer, 7 years old, male) for the day. He was super communicative throughout and clearly hit it off when they met for the first time. I was so grateful to know that Toby was in good hands with Nicholas. I highly recommend Nicholas and will definitely reach out again :)”

15. Betty L.
“Betty is a loving and caring woman. I would trust my pet with her as she is a reliable and has a gentle nature to her.”

17. Leonard & Kathryn J.

“This review is actually long overdue! I moved down to DC last year from NYC, and I was so overwhelmed with relocating and finding a sitter that I could trust with the most precious thing in my life (my pup Jax). I am so thankful to have found Lenny and his family! They have always cared for Jax as if he was their own. I can tell at the end of each day Jax had a happy fun-filled time, and isn’t that what we all want for our pups... to give them the best life possible. Seeing Rover pictures of Jax “living his best life” truly brightens up my work day. Lastly, I appreciate how thoughtful and understanding Lenny is to my essential work schedule, especially during this COVID-19 crisis. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without Lenny, Kate, and their daughters. I guess, I say all this to say, I highly recommend Lenny and his family!”

18. Tara C.

“Tara gave both of our pups a great day during a busy move in day. We really appreciated her flexibility and her care for our dogs. We would definitely book with her again!”

19. Sonja T.

“Sonja has been pivotal in the early development of my puppy. She is supporting me in achieving goals for increased positive socialization with a variety of other dogs and people. I’m so pleased with my puppy’s overall wellbeing and social growth. Thank you so much for being a member of Team Winnie Bear!!!”

20. Stephanie & Shawn A.
“Stephanie and Shawn are amazing! They’re an incredibly warm and hospitable family with three amazing pets that my beagle seemed to love. I felt that my pup was incredibly safe and comfortable, 15/10!”
