“Michael has been a reliable dog walker for us for over 6 months now. Romeo is 16.5, and Michael’s patience has been appreciated with some growing needs and a few extra steps in caring for a senior dog. Thank you, Michael, for your care and attention to detail 🙏🏽”

About: Patient, ASL-friendly, and gentle with all pets. I give loving, detail-oriented care, from playful pups to slow-moving seniors. Always dependable and communicative. Animals feel safe with me. I’m reliable, nurturing, and tuned in to different pet personalities. I also know ASL and respect each pet’s routine, energy, and emotional needs. As a student with a wide open summer, I have plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, and quality time with your pet throughout the week. If you need any support or would like to set up a meet and greet, contact me! Look forward to meeting you! I treat pets like family and homes with care. I’ll update you with sweet photos and check-ins, so you always know your pet is safe, relaxed, and smiling.
“Wilber had a great first walk with Mike. I received a detailed report and some great pictures. Mike even received Wilber’s seal of approval via some face kisses and the opportunity to rub his belly!”

“Nicholas is great !!! My dog is not too comfortable with other people walking him, but Nicholas is so patient with him. Seeing how excited my boy gets when it's time to go with Nicholas is everything a dog mom wants !”

“Jacquelyn has stole my little boy’s heart in a matter of two weeks! He adores her. She’s taking him on a new greener walking path which he loves. I am extremely pleased with her services. Way to go Rover! Your team is top notch.”

About: Though I am new to Rover, I have many years of experience both pet sitting and house sitting for friends and family. My goal always is to provide your fur baby with the love and care they deserve while you are away! Additionally, I currently work as a veterinary assistant, and have done so for the past 4.5 years working in emergency clinics. This makes me knowledgeable on pet health care - especially for elderly pets or those who require special care (ie medication, physical therapy, assisted walks, etc.) - and competent during emergency situations. I currently work night shifts at a vet clinic 3 nights a week, meaning I am available during the day to takes walks, provide meals and some play time with your pets. I am also free Saturdays and Sundays all day! My goal is always to stick to the plan that you, as the owner, decides. I understand the importance of maintaining a schedule and do my best to do so. I also try to keep the house and pet area as clean as possible, and make note of any changes in your pet (such as if they get an upset stomach or irregular bowel movement).
“This is our first time working with Delina, we are so happy to have found her! She is the sweetest, all the humans and our big mutt Louie immediately adopted her as a treasured friend. We look forward to many future visits (we hope)!”

“Lilla was fantastic!! Often going above and beyond to make sure our puppy had an amazing experience with her. She was very communicative and took plenty of pictures and/or video to let us know our puppy was doing well. Highly recommend and will definitely book her again whenever we need someone to walk Molly!”

“Thomas was wonderful to work with when my dog needed some weekday walks! Thomas sent the cutest pictures and detailed notes, and it was clear from day one that my pup felt happy and safe with him. I’d love to have Thomas care for my dog again soon!”

“Chase is an AMAZING dog walker. Phebe is always happy and Chase takes the *best* pictures to share! I always know my little pup is safe. Thank you, Chase! So grateful you’ll be able to keep walking Pheebs!”
“Jennifer is absolutely amazing! My dog is always happy to see her and is always prompt, professional, and personable in all of our exchanges! I can’t recommend her enough!”

About: I don’t remember a time in my life where I haven’t had at least one animal in my home. Over the years I’ve had a host of non-human animal companions including a parakeet as my first pet, a guinea pig, a number of hamsters and gerbils, ferrets, and cats. After college when I moved out on my own for the first time, my main priority was to find an apartment that would allow me to adopt a cat. That cat was my sweet Alyosha who was with me for 18 years before it was time for him to cross the rainbow bridge. Along with his brother Koshka, I learned that as much as I love all animals I am truly a cat lady at heart. After it was time for Koshka to meet his brother Alyosha again, I started fostering with the Washington Humane Society (now the Humane Rescue Alliance). I enjoyed working with these animals so much that I also volunteered with the foster program as a case manager triaging issues as they arose and an orientation assistant. Eventually, I went on to work with the organization professionally for a year running orientations for our new foster parents. Today, I’m a Purrfessor with the Animal Welfare League of Arlington’s Kitten College program where I help with various tasks. You can regularly find kittens in my home from only hours old who need to be fed every couple of hours, to those on medical or behavior treatment. I also foster adult cats who need a special home to hang out in until adoption, as well as the ferrets that come into the shelter. Over the years, I have been very lucky to learn a plethora of skills in animal care. I can read cat and dog body language, administer medications in all forms, and give fluids. I have experience with animals that have chronic conditions including but not limited to kidney and heart diseases, megacolon, hyperthyroidism, and various skin ailments. I am always learning new skills and have certifications in pet CPR and Fear Free Handling with a focus on animal sheltering. Thursdays and Fridays I work from home which allows me flexibility to spend time with your furry family members as needed on those days. I'm also available after 6PMs on all weekday evenings and throughout the weekend. No matter the service you need, I promise to take care of your animals like they are my own. I know how scary it can be leaving your precious family members with someone new. I hope to alleviate some of that anxiety for you! For cat sitting, each visit will include a change of food and water, scooping the litter box, and if your kitto is playful a bit of time with their favorite toy. Or if they are a social butterfly and enjoy a good snuggle, I have a nice warm lap for them to curl up on. Whatever your cat needs, just let me know and I’m sure I will be able to accommodate their own unique personality! For my feline boarding friends, I start them out in my office so they have a safe place to call their own while you’re away. They will not have contact with my cat friendly cats unless you approve and I am confident interaction won’t have a stressful impact on your kitto. I spend several hours a day minimum with my boarders so you can feel confident that your cat will get as much interaction with me as they would like. To make them feel as much at home as possible please bring with them their litter box with enough litter to last their stay, food, any special treats they love, medicine if applicable, a favorite toy or two, and their favorite bed to curl up in. Please note the published pickup and drop off rate is for locations within 5 miles driving of the US Arboretum (3501 New York Avenue, NE, Washington DC, 20002). Destinations outside of that range will have a $1 per mile round trip fee added. If you’re looking for a place to board your ferrets while you are away I have a double ferret nation cage. It is in the hallway between my living room and kitchen so they will have sniff access to my fully vaccinated and vetted cats. Ferrets are allowed at minimum an hour out of the cage time in the morning, and again in the evening so they can get all that furry noodle energy out! The space provided is fully ferret-proofed so you can be assured they will not have a way to slip out or get into ‘too’ much mischief :) Since each dog is different and may have their own exercise needs, we can map out exactly what that looks like when we talk.
The median cost per walk for dog walking in Brentwood is $20
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Brentwood
Audrey is quite literally the best!! She took Reese on midday walks for the past eight months, and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She was so loving toward Reese, incredibly communicative, reliable, and truly became the backbone of my household—even always making sure the Brita was filled up! Knowing Reese was in such caring hands every day gave me so much peace of mind while I was at work. I am so thankful for Audrey and everything she did for us. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will care for their pets like they're family!
