“Eileen has always been wonderful with Neo! I have left Neo under Eileen’s care for more than three times now. Neo requires extra attention due to her occasional seizures and specialized diet for the same, and Eileen took perfect care of her. Eileen quickly responded to messages and kept me updated via text and pictures of Neo. Neo came back happy, and we will definitely be using Eileen again!”

“Peter took excellent care of my dog while I was away! I received great photos and could tell he was in wonderful hands. He returned home happy, healthy, and exhausted from all of the fun he was having. I would highly recommend him!”

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of experience caring for furry friends, and I’m excited to help your pup feel happy and loved while you’re away. Though I recently had to be separated from my own dog, I’ve been surrounded by dogs my whole life, so I know how to give them attention, comfort, and fun. Whether it’s a quick visit, a long walk, or overnight care, I treat every dog like a part of the family. I’d love to meet your pup and provide the care, attention, and companionship they deserve! I work from home in a pet-friendly community, so your dog will get plenty of walks, cuddles, and attention all day. I have a flexible schedule if provided with enough notice. I prioritize safety, trust, and a happy environment for every dog. Since I don’t currently have any pets, your pup will have my full attention! I provide walks, cuddles, and supervision in a secure, pet-friendly space. Whether in my home or yours, I follow your rules and routines exactly, treating your dog and your home with the same love and respect I would my own.
“Megan did a fantastic job caring for my dog, Rocky. She was a great communicator throughout the stay, providing updates and making me feel comfortable that he was in good hands. Most importantly, Rocky seemed to genuinely enjoy his time with her, which says a lot. I would absolutely recommend Megan to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter, and I would gladly book with her again.”

“I am very satisfied with the service I received. Sahar did an amazing job. My dog is very selective with people but he was very comfortable with Sahar. The happiness and calmness, that happy face I saw when I wanted to pick him up was good enough for me to rebook with Sahar. Thank Sahar so very much🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏”

“This is our second time booking Shawna for dog boarding. She has been so responsive, flexible, and an excellent caretaker for our dog. We are very pleased to have found a trustworthy caretaker and welcoming home for our darling pup while we are away. He gets plenty of walks, attention and appropriate care. Thank you Shawna, Vinnie will be back for sure!”

“Nick and Sarah took care of my energetic 1 year old golden puppy, while I was on vacation. They were wonderful, with Bodie able to meet their dog a couple of weeks before I left. I really appreciated the meet and greet. While I was away I received lots of cute pictures, and Bodie and their dog got along really well. Huge thanks to them both.”

“First time with Frank and Thao. They are very dog welcoming and make their home friendly and very inviting for the pls. They have an extra big back yard for lots of fun and dog running which I especially loved. Frank also walked my dog and his kids welcomed my dog into their bedroom at bedtime. Truely the entire family wants to participate.💕 I will definitely use them again!”

About: I have over 14 years of hands-on experience caring for my Shih Tzu, who has been part of my family since he was a puppy. I understand the patience, love, attention, and daily care pets need to feel safe and comfortable. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and caring for senior dogs with extra patience and attention. I have a flexible schedule and am available 7 days a week. I offer boarding and daycare, and I’m happy to provide potty breaks and walks as often as the owner requests. I provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home for pets while they’re in my care. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and rest. I give every pet plenty of attention and make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for throughout their stay.
“Kane had the BEST week staying with Angela and Randall and fam. He was well loved, walked, and cuddled. They got to know him immediately and that warmed our hearts. They sent pictures regularly and replied to our questions promptly. We will definitely be booking again!!!”

About: Raised my 4yo doodle from 8 weeks. Both my husband and I are WFH. As a routine we walk our dog 5 times a day. We are patient, calm and reliable and cherish dogs as they are part of the family. I always communicate well via text and photos to give you a peach of mind while away from home. Both my husband and I are both working from home. Flexible schedule to accommodate yours. Can walk your doggy as often as needed and play with them anytime. We prefer to arrange drop off and pick up times between 7:30am and 7:30pm due to our little kid’s schedule. Appreciate your understanding! Safety is our top priority. We have a safe area for dogs to hang out and pay great attention to the dogs as we are WFH. Dogs will stay with my wonderful, friendly Momo who is a calm and gentle doodle. He is a neutered male with boarding experience before. We have a big backyard with fence so no risk for loss. I only allow one dog boarding at once so your dog will get all the attention it deserves.
“Dakota and Jaclyn have been extremely responsive both times our dog has stayed with them. Our dog comes home so happy and relaxed—we know she is in great hands and don’t have to worry about her when we are away.”

“Tina was wonderful with our dogs, Mocha and Toby! The dogs had an awesome time as she has a large yard with shade for the dogs to run around in. She also sent pictures of them hanging out which made me feel at ease.”

“Yanhong was absolutely amazing with my senior Pomeranian Lexie! She handled all of Lexies special needs as a senior (frequent potty breaks, small frequent meals to avoid vomiting, twice daily meds, separation anxiety and confusion with her advanced years etc) with such love and grace. She communicated with me often with how Lexie’s day was going, how she was eating, pottying and so forth. I received lots of photos and videos of Lexie while we were gone. 🥰 I felt completely at ease and Lexie enjoyed her stay very much. I’m so grateful for her caring nature and her willingness to take on our complicated girl. I will definitely use her again!”

About: I have been privileged to share over three decades of my life in the companionship of dogs and cats. Whether your pet needs walks or playtime while you’re away for the day, or a safe space for overnight care, I would be happy to love and pamper them as if they were my own. I have experience with pets of all ages and am comfortable administering oral and injectable medications, if needed. I also volunteer with NorCal GSP Rescue and have experience with post-surgery care. . I work from home M-F and have flexibility in my schedule. I am open to early morning or late night walks or drop-in visits in the event that you have an atypical work week. I have two pets in my home, a 12 yr old German Shorthaired Pointer (Sophie) and a 7 yr old Sphynx cat (Zelda). Both are friendly with other animals.
“Mary was amazing with my cat! I had to change my drop-off time last minute and ended up picking my cat up a day early. I told her to keep the payment for the full stay, but she was sweet enough to refund me. Plus, her little son played with my cat the whole time, so my kitty got plenty of love. Super honest, flexible, and reliable—will definitely be using her again!”

“Natalie took excellent care of our dog, Arlo. She’s very warm and welcoming and I felt confident that we left our dog in good hands when we went out of town for the weekend. She gave us daily updates and lots of photos throughout his stay and responded to my messages quickly. I would gladly book another stay with Natalie again for a future trip!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Blackhawk
Dylan does a great job of taking care of our little dog. He stays in close touch, sending pictures and videos for us to see how she's doing, and asks questions to be sure things are going just as we would like. She always comes home full of energy and looking like she's had a great time. We'll ask Dylan to care for her whenever we're out of town.
Always a caring and loving environment. We boarded our 16-year old kitty for the first time with Rachna and Mike. Rachna went out of her way to ensure that Koko was comfortable and loved by spoiling her and giving up her desk where she found Koko sleeping. This is the kind of dedication and love that all petsitters should have. Our dog also stays with Rachna and Mike and gets excited once he realizes he's arrived at their home.

Nick and Sarah did such a wonderful job taking care of our senior dog Pablo. We so appreciated all the updates and videos of Pablo’s visit. We would sincerely recommend Nick and Sarah for boarding a dog. Even though Pablo can be trying, Nick and Sarah were so good with him. He came home a happy doggie. Oh, and George, their bulldog was a great host, too. 😊
Pat & Lopa were so great in taking care of my dog. My dog got a long so well with their dog, Donny. Their home felt like our home which was reassuring while we were away. So glad to have found Pat & Lopa. They were so easy to work with on the details. Will definitely book with them again.

We left our two pugs with Paul for a long weekend trip, four days. Paul is absolutely an "dog person" and has experience with dogs of many breeds, including pugs! He had great communication before and during the boarding engagement. Our pugs were returned happy and healthy and it was apparent that Paul took very good care of them. I would recommend Paul for anyone who has boarding needs.

On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
92% of sitters in Blackhawk can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Blackhawk home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Blackhawk.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Blackhawk sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
