We love small dogs!Martinez, CA

Hello! I am Amber, a Rover.com sitter. We have a dog friendly yard and family. My Husband and I have lived in Martinez for nineteen years. We love our Chihuahua Luna, and eight year old son Jacob.

I would love to have your dog over and play with us. Our front and back yard are fenced and the home is dog friendly. Our son Jacob is respectful of the pets and my dog Luna plays well with others. On a typical day I will have 4 Rover dogs plus my own dog. Some weekends and holidays I will care for more then usual. Your dogs safety is my first priority and then of course lots of fun!

About this sitter:

I provide dog daycare, short and long term boarding.

If you are interested in having me care for your pet in your home, I provide private walks, and short potty relief visits while your away.

Why I love dog sitting

My Husband and I love dogs. We have Luna a Chihuahua and love her to the moon and back. My husband and I also had a Dalmatian and a Jack Russel, both passed from old age. I am a stay at home mom and I enjoy getting to love and care for dogs. We live, love and breath for pups!

About my yard

I have a fenced in front yard with lots of shade and toys, its just like a mini dog park. My back yard has a tall fence and a perfect place to soak up the morning sun.

Your dog will be my dogs' playmateWalnut Creek, CA

Justin and Patrick work together to take care of your dogs. One of us works at home so there is, at least, one person who will spend most of the time with your dogs. We have one of our own, a Havanese (Sophie), who we adopted from the shelter. She loves other dogs and people. We will take care of your dog as if he/she was our own. We live in a house with a big all fenced backyard and very secure and safe so there will be plenty of space for your dogs running around outside. Your dogs will have their own bed to sleep and plenty of toys to play with. We will take your dogs to walk 3 times a day.

Why we love dog sitting

We have been dog lovers all our lives. We both grew up with dogs (larger dogs, but have grown to love smaller dogs). We grew up with German Sheperds, Dalmatians, Golden Retrievers, and Beagles.

Our experience administering medication

We have some experience in administering medication. We are generally comfortable giving oral medication.

Care Only a True Dog Lover Can GiveConcord, CA

My husband and I have grown up loving all different types of dogs in our lives. A passion for pooches is a trait we share, and we want to share this love with our East Bay neighbors who love their pups like we do and want to trust their fur babies with capable, gentle, and attentive dog lovers.

We primarily hike outdoors, anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hour vigorous hikes. However, we can just as easily guide your pup on a gentle expedition through the hills or through your own neighborhood. We will work on leash manners, and there is nothing better than a tired pup during training exercises.

Please reach out if you have any questions!

DOGS ARE MY EVERYTHINGMoraga, CA

I am a recent empty nester with a large fenced backyard in Vallejo. However, the reason I am posting in Moraga is that I lived in Moraga(near Los Perales Elementary School) for 9 years until Sept.2018. I moved after my youngest graduated from high school in June 2018. I am intimately familiar with LaMorinda(and Oakland for that matter as we lived in 3 houses there). Frankly, there are more families that travel in LaMorinda than Vallejo. My reviews will substantiate my competence in caring for your dog(s). I am willing to pick up/drop off your dog for $10 each way to LaMorinda,Walnut Creek, Oakland and Berkeley or any communities close to those. I live in a nice house with a big back yard. If you want to drive up once and check the place out, perfect! If you prefer not to make the trek to Vallejo even once, I could drive down to meet you with pictures of my new home. I can give you personal references.

In my world, dogs are a 10 and people(in general) are a 5. That is honestly the way I feel. Dogs are just so geeat. I love taking care of dogs and would welcome your dog into my home. Since my dog is allowed on the furniture and bed, so is yours!

How long have you been a dog lover? Tell us about your history with dogs.

I have been a dog lover all of my life. As a child, my best friends were my dogs.

What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?

Well, I have owned dachshunds, dobermans, corgis, and I currently have a senior miniature american eskimo but I love all breeds.

Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

Yes, I have a Toyota Rav 4 and am 11 minutes from 2 local vets, 20 minutes from a night time, weekend emergency vet.

Are you comfortable administering medication?

Yes, I have had several if my own dogs on medications. I am very comfortable administering medications.

How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day?

I am pretty much with these dogs 24/7 except when I do an errand where a dog is not allowed. With your permission, I would take your dog with me in the car unless it is too hot to do so . In the event I am gone several hours, I have an experienced high-school or college- aged dogsitter to watch the dogs while I am away.

If you have a backyard, please describe it.

A big fenced in backyard. Flat directly in back in an L shaped. Your dog would be watched out in the backyard.

Where will my dog sleep?

Usually your dog will sleep in my bed with me. If it doesn't like the bed, the dogs usually sleep on dog beds around my bed. The dogs like to sleep near me and I like them sleeping near me. Some dogs prefer sleeping downstairs on the couch which is fine by me. Occasionally I get puppies that sleep in crates and I sometimes(owners discretion) place the crate adjacent to my bed, usually with a sheet over it to limit distractions.

Where will you take my dog on walks? Tell me about it.

I will take the dog in my neighborhood in a large circle, and check with you about the length of time you want the dog walked if your dog is elderly, isn't normally walked, or has some special medical needs.

Love and CompanyConcord, CA

I grew up with dogs since I was 5 years old. There was always a dog in our house. I so wanted all the time to bring home stray dogs and kittens. My last dog was Red. He was a rescue from the Martinez shelter. My son and I had to wait until the owner had to give permission to give him up. This took a few weeks. When we found out he was available, we found out another family was interested. We were told it was first come first serve. My son and I decided to camp out in my truck in front of the shelter overnight. Tent in the back with a make shift toilet. We were the first ones there that morning and got to bring Red home. Red died close to 3 years ago from joint and head cancer. I love dogs but I am afraid there will never be one again like Red. After going to my friends house last Friday who is a dog watcher, I met an adorable Chihuahua named Smalls. The dog sat on my lap almost the whole night. I said to myself how cool of a job this would be. I am a very active person and love to go for walks but it would be so much cooler if I had a buddy with me then going by myself. I miss having a dog around to play with and to love. And this is why I decided that watching dogs would be so cool!

There is only one Doggie Disney!CONCORD, CA

We have cheerfully invited and cared for over 1,000 dogs since we have begun with Rover. What we are most proud of is that nearly 90% of our Rover friends come back again! Doggie Disney is designed for dogs with nearly an acre of grass and running room for your dog(s). It's like a manicured dog park. We have 3 people who live on the property (all who have had background checks done of Rover) for your safety and security. Our expansive grass lawns are heaven made for dogs, in fact our endearing Rover guests have nicknamed us "Doggie Disney". Check out the pictures, and our tail wagging guests reviews!

We understand that your dog is more than just a pet, they are part of your family and we treat them with that respect and love. We take this responsibility seriously and prove it by rarely taking more than 4 dogs + (our dog Checotah) at a time therefore, I (Tommy), Shelly (my wife), Shari (our trusted friend who lives in the guest cottage) - can provide one on one attention to ensure that we provide your family pet that "Disney feel" of a clean, safe, fun & litter free environment!

You will enjoy & take comfort in the fact that we pride ourselves in sending photos & communication while you are away. We provide everything for your pets stay including bedding, feeding and water dishes so all you need to supply is their food. (Note: If you choose to bring your own bedding, toys or blankets please be aware that you do this at your responsibility and with the understanding that they could get damaged or torn as the dogs love to play and tussle).

You will also be able to relax knowing that we offer the security of the Rover Verification background check and the documented knowledge of being recipients of the Rover Graduate training course, and the provision of safety through our 24/7 Rover Vet Protection Package. We do this for the love of dogs and in constant pursuit to provide a holiday for your family pets, so while you are on holiday, they are too - at Doggie Disney ~ The Happiest Doggie Place On Earth!

The property is completely fenced and gated to protect the your pet. We NEVER feed dogs in the same room to eliminate any sharing of food or squabbles. The property is heaven for dogs & we love animals. Take a look at the pictures to gain an idea of our setting.

About this sitter:

We love dogs and lost Molly our 14 year old border collie in August 2014 so we thought this would be the perfect time to check out Rover.com and share our home. Between Tom & Shelly, and our dear friend Shari who lives in the cottage on the property, we have lots of hands to help and watch over your family dog.

Prices are as follows:

Due to overwhelming demand for overnight stays and our commitment to take a maximum of 4 dogs - Doggie Daycare has been put on hold to accommodate our frequent overnight doggie guests - We sell out nearly every weekend!

1. Overnight stays are $45 per night. Any medical requirements that are necessary are an additional $5 per night / for application. Holiday rates are $5 additional per night.

2, Due to everyone's work schedule's we ask that drop offs and pickups be between 8:30 AM-10 am or after 5pm. But, we ask that pick up times be before your pet is fed in the evening, otherwise that would be considered an additional stay. We do understand things happen such as traffic and flight delays, but dogs are fed by 6pm and put to bed by 9. Anything later than 9pm needs to be an additional stay as the excitement when picking up a dog could serve to be intrusive to our beloved neighbors.

Why I love dog sitting:

We have had dogs and been a foster home for dogs for over 20+ years. As our kids grew up we had goats in our barn, sheep, chickens, cats, & of course, dogs! We love animals & have the perfect set up with all usable 2/3 of an acre to roam & play. You have to see it to believe it. Think of a manicured dog park all usable for the dogs to play in, run or rest under a shade tree.

Meet our dog:

Checotah - 16+ year old mature & friendly border collie (reference pictures in profile). Checotah is truly the goodwill Ambassador and gets along with everyone.

About my yard:

Kind of rhetorical, but here we go again:

1. 2/3 of an acre all usable acreage.

2. Lots and lots of grass and places to play

3. Completely fenced yard

4. Automatic Lights in the entire backyard (dusk to dawn)

5. 3 garages

6. 1 barn + 1 barn yard

7. 1 separate gated & fenced 150 foot by 10 foot dog run.

8. 3 redwood decks

9. 1 thatched room backyard BBQ hut 40 foot by 60 foot

10. Large sand pit for the dogs (they love this!)

11. Two water stations & separate feeding stations

12. Enclosed & insulated garage for sleeping & relaxing

My experience administering medication:

I was an EMT ski patrolman for 9 years in Tahoe. My son in law (Drew) was also an EMT and currently holds his EMT license and my daughter is on staff at John Muir.
