“Julia knows dogs. She is able to integrate a new dog in with her current group. She is the consummate "dog whisperer." They seem to listen and respond to what she says. My dog, Brie, loves going to Julia's. She is exhausted when she comes home and has a good workout with playtime. I highly recommend bringing your dog here. I trust Julia and am grateful that she is attentive to my pup.”

“Shirley was great with our apprehensive dog! He’s a tough one to win over but she really spent time with him and worked hard to get him to trust her. We will be happy to book Shirley again in the future!”

“Maggie must of had an awesome day! Because she came home and passed out. Thank you so much for the great care provided to her. I can't wait to have her over again. Thank you so much!”

“Nicole was a great day care for my dog today! We arranged a little meet and greet the weekend before, which was such an amazing touch. My doggy came back happy! I would definitely reach out to Nicole again :)”

“Sabrina you’re awesome! Thank you for all the communication, being flexible with our schedule, and sending all the photos. Radley was one tired little puppy! So happy we found you.”

About: Positive vibes and sense of adventure make for a happy life. I've always been protective of my pups AND love to encourage exploration. I believe joy is found in a safe home and adventures in the wild (well, at least out and about in our neighborhood!) - Let's go! My schedule is flexible and I am available for day care or overnight stays. I'm attentive to your pup and will make sure there are plenty of opportunities for exercise and snuggles. I have a fenced yard with a pool and would always directly supervise if your pup is outside. Our home is warm and loving. We live in a great neighborhood.
“We had a great experience! Ace was so well taken care of, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. We got updates, and it was clear he was happy and comfortable the whole time. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our boy—we truly appreciate it and would definitely recommend you to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter! 🐾💕”

About: I've had dogs and cats (and also horses and goats) all my life. I have a flexible schedule and is willing to work with you and your pet’s needs. Having one myself, I specialize in French bulldogs. I don't discriminate on the breed but I completely understand their sometimes difficult needs and also their funny little stubborn personalities. While I don't have many reviews on Rover, I have many repeating clients that I can provide testimonials from if needed. My work schedule is very flexible. I also have a dog door that goes to the backyard if they're comfortable with using that, otherwise somebody is almost always home. We don't leave dogs unattended. I live in a house with a fenced backyard. I also live very close to parks if your dog prefers those. Also we have a fenced in area that I can let the dogs roam. I also have a friendly dog so if your dog needs a friend he’s more than willing. They can also easily be separated and mine crated

“P is amazing! It’s my fourth time coming to her and I don’t think I can trust my two dogs with anyone else outside of family besides her. Her frequent updates really ease me and assure me that they’re having fun in a safe environment while I’m out and about. Thank you, P!”

“Joanne was a lifesaver! When I dropped my dog off with Joanne, we realized I had booked daycare instead of boarding, but she was so sweet and very flexible. Even though she already had a house full of dogs, she gladly boarded my dog and took such good care of her. She introduced her to bully sticks, which she loved, and gave her plenty of playtime and exercise. Joanne was very responsive and sent me updates and pictures daily. Magi came home tired and happy;) I would use Joanne again and again!”

“Stacy was a wonderful host and dog sitter! Her friendly and mild manner quickly put shado at ease and she was very comfortable staying in her home. The backyard made potty breaks much easier and also room for extra play. Stacy was communicative and shared updates with pics throughout the stay. I knew Shado was in very caring hands. Highly recommend!”

“Stephanie was so great. It was Dewie’s first time being watched by someone other than family but he seemed comfortable and happy and was very happy to receive a treat bone to chew on. Great experience.”

About: I've always had a special connection with dogs, and they seem to feel comfortable around me almost immediately, even dogs that are typically shy or timid around new people. During COVID, my cousin got a puppy, and because I was working from home, I spent nearly every day helping care for him. I walked him, fed him, played with him, and provided companionship throughout the day while he learned his routine and grew into a happy, confident dog. As our bond grew, he began staying with me for weeks at a time whenever my cousin traveled. This gave me experience managing a dog's daily schedule, exercise needs, and overall well-being for extended periods. I understand that every dog is different, and I take the time to learn their personality, energy level, and preferences so they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with a trusted companion, I'll make sure they receive attentive, dependable care and plenty of affection. I still work from home, so I am able to provide as much attention as the dog would like. I can provide as many videos, photos, and general updates as needed so you can relax and know they are in good hands. I work from home, so I can come to you and your pet during any day of the week! I am also free during the weekends for overnight stays or even if you would like me to host your animal at my place. I have a 2 story home with a large fenced in backyard. I have a large fenced in backyard and no animals in the house. I can come to you and play with your animal in the comfort of their own home, or bring them over to mine and let them explore without fear that there is another animal that they might not be friendly with.
“Liam & his wife are so flexible & understanding! I was late for drop offs (early mornings) & pickups but they worked with me every single time & with kindness! It’s been a blessing having them care for our fur baby; they are truly the kindest people. It’s my first time using this app & Liam helped to explain how things works which I appreciate. I also loved the photos & videos throughout the day. 10/10 would recommend them!”

“Jessica was great with our dog. He has separation issues and she was able to charm him out of it. When we arrived to pick him up, all the dogs were resting quietly together. Loved the pictures and videos. So great. Rick was a great help. Charlie did well at his first stay in the Shire.”

“Our frenchie spent an exciting day with Vanson’s dogs. He loves to run around and that’s exactly what he did. Vanson sent photos and a video of Bentley having fun. This was Bentley’s first stay with Vanson and it was a success.”

“Monica went above and beyond to give Angel a wonderful stay. She has a lovely home and she sent me videos to reassure me of Angel's well being. Angel returned home in a relaxed and happy state.”

“Corina is wonderful! So is her property. I rarely leave my dog so this was a bit stressful at first but Corina quickly eased my mind. My dog immediately connected with her, she is warm and kind. Will use her again”

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
