“This was the first time we left our pup an extended stay and the meet and greet immediately put us at ease. Our pup made new furry friends and enjoyed his walks. He had no problem eating and came home happy and well cared for. We also appreciated the updates, even though we only had intermittent cell service while we were away. We'd definitely book again!”

“Natalie took excellent care of our dog, Arlo. She’s very warm and welcoming and I felt confident that we left our dog in good hands when we went out of town for the weekend. She gave us daily updates and lots of photos throughout his stay and responded to my messages quickly. I would gladly book another stay with Natalie again for a future trip!”

“This was my dog’s first time in a new home, and Marilu made me feel completely at ease. She took so much time and care to make sure my dog felt welcomed and comfortable. I truly appreciated the daily updates and photos—seeing my dog so happy and relaxed meant the world to me. Marilu has such a kind and loving soul, and her two dogs are some of the friendliest I've ever met. She did an amazing job, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, responsible sitter. She's awesome!”

“Cooper was genuinely cared for and very well taken care of by Rachana and her family! We were at peace due to regular and detailed updates about his settling in phase. Being an anxious pup, Cooper needs a considerable amount of patience and love to feel at home and he seemed to feel at ease very soon at Rachana’s place. Their pup is super friendly too and was great company for Cooper during his stay! Thank you for your care and affection towards Cooper!”

“Dakota and Jaclyn have been extremely responsive both times our dog has stayed with them. Our dog comes home so happy and relaxed—we know she is in great hands and don’t have to worry about her when we are away.”

“Kosar was a fantastic sitter! She took excellent care of our dog, including multiple daily walks and frequent photo updates. We highly recommend her and definitely hope to use her services again in the future.”

About: I've been Twixie's dog dad for six years, she's an SPCA rescue, so I know firsthand what it takes to help a dog feel safe, loved, and settled into a new routine from day one. I've trained her myself from scratch, and she now knows sit, stay, stop, down, roll over, high five, and even "boop," so I'm comfortable working through training and behavior, not just basic care. I also took care of family dogs growing up in young adulthood, so I'm used to adjusting to another dog's habits and quirks, not just my own. Beyond hands-on care, I compile videos of my dog, so paying close attention to dogs all day isn't a chore for me, it's already how I spend my time. Pet care is a genuine priority for me right now, not something squeezed around a job. I'm reliably available from 10am to 3pm, which is plenty of time for walks, play, and attentive care without rushing anything. That's a consistent window you can actually count on, not just "whenever I have time." Your dog would be cared for at my house, which has a fully fenced backyard — plenty of safe space to run and play — plus a park right across the street for longer walks. My own dog Twixie, a friendly SPCA rescue, is there too, so your pup won't be alone, she's used to sharing space with other dogs. I'm also able to crate your dog if that's part of their routine or if you'd prefer it. I pay attention to each dog's own routine, feeding, and boundaries rather than treating every dog the same way.
“This was a great experience!! This was the first time our dog stayed with someone we didn't know and Ruth made the process so easy. We felt so relaxed knowing our dog was not only well taken care of but loved! Ruth sent constant updates and photos to keep us informed. We would definitely return and highly recommend Ruth!!”

“Yu-Shu was amazing! She sent updates and photos to keep us posted during the overnight stay! They even carried in the dog bed and bag with food, treats and toys and walked it out to my car when I picked him up. Archie was in very good hands and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to board or sit their pet.”

“Outstanding!!! Could not ask for a better person to take care of our dog. My dog is getting older in kennels she never eats and very unhappy. With Angelina our dog was very happy, ate, safe and had a good time. Could not ask for a better service. Thank you again”

“Justine is awesome overall! She is kind, caring, pays great attention to detail and is very responsive. Xander was with Justine for a week and we were at peace knowing that he was with someone who cared about him as much as we do! Additionally, her pup Bodi just wants to play with your dog :) On her end, Justine also kept us in the loop the whole time with regular pics and videos and went above and beyond in caring for Xander with regular walks, play time and park time! I recommend her with no reservations and would happily board Xander with her again.”

“Provided great care and updates. Even with all of Hudson nuances of not wanting to walk unless it’s with minimum of two people, Nikki and her husband was able to care for Hudson while we were away visiting family in France for 3 weeks. Thanks again.”

We had such a wonderful experience with Ishwori taking care of our sweet Nova! ❤️ It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Nova was in such loving and caring hands while we were away. We truly appreciate all the love, attention, and patience Ishwori showed her, especially making sure she received her medications on time. It meant so much to us knowing Nova was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Thank you, Ishwori, for treating Nova like family! 🐾💕 We highly recommend Ishwori to anyone looking for a kind, trustworthy, and dependable pet sitter. We would absolutely trust her with Nova again!

My dog absolutely loves Mark. The moment I say, “We’re going to see Mark,” Charlie runs straight to the car, that alone says everything. We live far away, but I happily drive the distance because Mark is the only person I truly trust with my Charlie. The bond they have is so special, and you can clearly see the love, care, and patience Mark gives. Thank you, Mark, for taking such wonderful care of Charlie. It truly means everything to us😊

Sabrina and Upakar have been the best sitters for our fur babies, Luke, Miyuki and Milo. I received daily videos on their stay with them. They accommodated the space for our Luke because he has anxiety being away from home. Sabrina and Upakar made sure our fur babies were played with and felt at home away from home. They followed feeding schedules and potty times when needed for the pups to go outside. We will definitely refer and reach out to have then care for our fur babies again. We only want the best watching our babies and that’s the exact care given to Luke, Miyuki and Milo. I am grateful we found them. Luke needed to take 1 med every evening during feeding time and that was done. We will be reaching out to have Sabrina and Upakar watch over our fur babies again. So happy we no longer have to worry about care for our pups while we are away.

This was our first time using Rover. We have a senior dog who can get anxious and had concerns about boarding him in someone else's home. However, after meeting with Tanaiia, we felt she understood our dog's needs and helped put us at ease with leaving him with her. And let us tell you, she is awesome! She sent photos and updated us throughout his stay. We highly recommend her and definitely will use her in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Stewartville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Stewartville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Stewartville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
