“Timothy is a 5 Star Pet Sitter! He is 100% responsible and responsive! Our dog is "high energy" and Tim took her our several times a day for walks. He has an obvious heart for dogs and our dog stuck right by his side when he was here. He also left the house in spotless conditiion. We feel very lucky to have had him pet sit for our family! The Lankfords”

“Dani was excellent with our dogs and she was very communicative with us- sending pictures, and updates regularly. Before she left she vacuumed, and washed her sheets and towels. We have already scheduled Dani to return.”

“Kayla is a wonderful pet sitter. My older poodle girl is hesitant to meet people, but from the moment Lyla saw Kayla it was instant acceptance. She knew she could trust her. Kayla communicated with us often. She was responsible and loving towards Lyla. I would highly recommend her to anyone that needs a pet sitter. Thank you, Kayla. We appreciate the support you gave to Lyla and us.”

She house sat for my cat Marvin while I was having surgery out of town and was super accommodating to last minute travel changes, gave great updates, and my apartment was so clean when I got back which made traveling a breeze! Already booking my next sitting :)”

“Jayla is a fantastic dog sitter! We had to leave our pup for close to 2 weeks and Jayla took good care of him and made sure he was happy and cozy while we were away! She sent us pictures of him every day and did an amazing job maintaining his routine. About: Hi, pet parents! My name is Heather, and my goal is to provide dependable, compassionate care so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pets are safe, comfortable, and loved. I'm currently building pet sitting into my full-time career because caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy and feel passionate about. I've grown up with all kinds of animals my entire life—from cats to dogs, to rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, fish, and even turtles. I have experience caring for animals of all ages and personalities, and I have a special place in my heart for those with special medical needs. One of the most rewarding experiences I've had was raising my own cat with wobbly cat syndrome from less than two weeks old and helping him learn to walk. I’ve also cared for a diabetic cat who required daily insulin injections, a cat who suffered from seizures, and another cat with asthma who receives inhaler treatments. So I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and following medical routines carefully. I'm certified in Animal First Aid and Fear Free pet care. These certifications have taught me how to recognize signs of stress, respond appropriately in emergencies, and provide calm, low-stress handling that helps pets feel secure while their families are away. Whether your pet is playful, shy, elderly, or has special medical needs, I tailor my care to their individual personality and routine. I pay close attention to details, carefully follow feeding and medication instructions, and keep an eye out for any changes in behavior or health. My goal is for your pet to feel as comfortable as possible and for you to have complete peace of mind! During every booking, you can expect clear communication, regular photo updates, and the same level of care I would want for my own pets. I believe every animal deserves kindness, patience, and respect, and I look forward to treating your furry family members as if they were my own. I am planning to build pet sitting as a full-time business, which allows me to offer flexible availability throughout the week. I am generally available during morning, afternoon, and evening care windows. This helps ensure I can provide consistent care while maintaining a reliable routine for each pet. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I prioritize maintaining a stable schedule once bookings are confirmed. I’m also happy to discuss specific timing needs to make sure your pet receives care at the times they are most comfortable with. **House Sitting Includes:** • Overnight care in your home from 4:30pm-8:30am • Feeding and fresh water • Walks and playtime (if requested) • Medication administration • Litter box cleaning • Plenty of affection, enrichment, and companionship • Photo and message updates 2x daily (AM and PM) • Basic home care, including bringing in mail/packages, watering plants, and keeping your home tidy **Drop-In Visits Include:** • Feeding and fresh water • Potty breaks or litter box cleaning • Playtime and companionship • Medication administration if needed • Photo and visit updates with each visit
“Ally was great! Teddy can definitely be a handful at times, but she managed well by looking after him. Jack usually takes a while to warm up to new people, but with Ally, he opened up so quickly it felt like they had known each other forever. Ally is reliable and trustworthy which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. On top of that, she tidied up around the house and even offered to help with more before she left. I would highly recommend Ally to any and all pet owners.”

“Jasmeen did a great job watching after my older dog and they clearly got along great! I returned to a happy and healthy dog and watered plants. I will definitely book again.”

“Diamond was punctual, communicative, friendly, and caring with our dogs. Everything was left clean, and they seemed to be very happy with her. We highly recommend her service. She she lots of pictures and seemed to love them like her own!”

“Farah was super competent in taking care of Bean, and very accommodating and helpful as it was my first time booking on Rover and I didn’t really know what I was doing. Highly recommend!!”

“Jennifer was INCREDIBLE with my fur babies. Lots of communication, which I love. Tons of pictures. This was a short trip we went on so it was a good introduction of our babes to a stranger staying with them. Jennifer has already asked to come back and see them. They are such a fun loving group. We would definitely use Jennifer again in the future 😎😎😎”

“Daniele stayed at our house again while we were out of town, this time for a week. She is so great with our two dogs, including one that is a very old and requires a lot of patience. They both really love her and I can leave knowing that they are in good hands. She gives them lots of love and attention, and sends me updates and photos while I’m away. She also takes great care of our house – best dog/house sitter ever!”

“Marilyn was absolutely amazing, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter. From the very beginning, she communicated exceptionally well, was incredibly organized, and immediately made me feel comfortable leaving my dog in her care. I have a senior Chihuahua who requires a lot of patience, understanding, and personal space, and Marilyn took the time to learn his personality and understand what he was comfortable with rather than trying to rush the process. It was clear that she genuinely cared about making him feel safe and secure. She kept me updated, was attentive to his needs, and handled him with so much patience and kindness. Knowing he was with someone who respected his boundaries and took the time to earn his trust gave me complete peace of mind. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Marilyn did an outstanding job, and I would absolutely book with her again.”

“Geneva was assumed with Pepper and beans. Being very tentative with them when it came to feeding and being let out. Also spending some social time with them. Ill def recommend and hire again for future vacations.!!!”

“Deanna was nothing short of amazing. She took care of our pups while we were on family vacation and didn’t miss a beat. She sent constant pictures and videos and it was so nice to see updates about them while we were away.”

“Molly was very communicative and loving with my pup! She handled lots of medicines like a champ. I’m so grateful to Molly for looking after my girl while I was out of town.”

“Natalia was amazing with Stoops! I got home and he was relaxed and not anxious. Natalia did such a good job with keeping his routine and got along very well with Stoops. Would absolutely recommend for long stays.”

We had an amazing experience with Sarah. She took excellent care of our precious pets, making sure they had daily walks and hugs and special treats. In addition, Sarah helped us so much by watering our container plants daily to keep them alive in the Houston heat. On a special note, when I had to undergo an emergency appendectomy while on vacation, Sarah was wonderfully compassionate and reassuring. She provided daily updates with photos and constantly reassured us that there was nothing to worry about at home and to just focus on healing from my health Emergency. We will definitely book Sarah for future trips and would recommend that you do too. Thank you Sarah!

Jasmeen is amazing and I strongly recommend! Was able to help me out last minute which is alway nice. She still made time to meet up beforehand and was super communicative everyday of watching Cody. My dog is also pretty shy/anxious, but he warmed up very quickly to her and I don’t doubt that wasn’t partly due to the way she was able to meet him where he was at and not rush him during the initial meeting. Again, she was such a great sitter!

I couldn’t recommend her more highly! She took such great care of my dog while I was away. He’s usually quite nervous around new people, but he took to her immediately, which gave me so much peace of mind. Communication was excellent throughout my trip. She sent plenty of updates and photos, so I always knew he was happy, comfortable, and well looked after. She also treated my home with so much care. I came back to a spotless apartment, and she had even washed and changed the bed sheets, which was such a thoughtful touch after travelling. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of both my dog and my home.

We had an amazing experience with Dani and will definitely be booking with her again! Dani stayed in our apartment over the holiday weekend to look after our dog, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She kept us updated throughout our trip with regular messages and lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog can be anxious around new people, but she was so patient and clearly experienced with nervous dogs. She knew exactly how to approach him, and he warmed up to her almost immediately. When we got home, he was happy, relaxed, and clearly had been very well cared for. She also took incredible care of our home. We came back to an apartment that was absolutely spotless—she even did the laundry and took out the trash, which was such a thoughtful touch. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about your pet and will treat your home with the same respect, I highly recommend booking with Dani. We can’t wait to have her watch our dog again!

Jill was fantastic, she took great care of my dog! So happy to have found her, she will be my go-to sitter for the future! Thank you, Jill, for your excellent care and communication. It means the world to be able to relax and know that my senior dog is in trustworthy hands while away.
grant was hands down the most incredible pet sitter i've ever tried ever! he was so good at communicating quickly especially with me being in the virgin islands where service is only available in certain areas. not once while i was on vacation did i have to worry about my pup because i knew he was in good hands. grant even last minute excepted to watching my pup for 2 more days due to a flight delay. grant is who i will use anytime i need a sitter. my concierge was even telling me that zeus looked so happy while in his care PLEASE make sure to take the opportunity and book if he has open availability, you will not be disappointed

Naomi always goes above and beyond to make sure our pups are well cared for while we are away. She provides structured routines, lots of love, sends plenty of updates and videos! She is also very well rounded in her knowledge and handling of all types of dog temperaments and needs; our two pups have very different care requirements (ie one with medical needs and one is a young dog with a lot of energy) and she always does a fantastic job with them both! I would highly recommend her! (-:

Lidia was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we met, I felt completely comfortable leaving my pet in her care. She was dependable, communicative, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. Throughout the stay, she provided updates, photos, and peace of mind, which meant so much to me. My pet was happy, well cared for, and clearly received plenty of attention and affection. Lidia went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled perfectly. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and kind to care for your furry family member, I cannot recommend Lidia highly enough. I will definitely be booking with her again!

Daniela was such a blessing! From day one she was very responsive and professional. I made her come to my house twice for meet and greet because i have two Dobermans and i needed them to get familiarized with her before my trip. She accomodated my last minute changes and made the whole experience so enjoyable. My dogs are very high maintenance and extremely velcro so i was worried it would be too much for Daniela but nope! Got so many pictures and updates that i didnt worry about my doggos (or my house) while i was on vacation. She went above and beyond and left the house even cleaner than how i left it. Even gave freyja a bath. Not ever booking with anyone else other than her :) happy with my first ever rover experience and very thankful i found her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in West University Place on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,998 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West University Place. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West University Place walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West University Place maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West University Place choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
