“Ashlee took such good care of our big baby and our home! With bad weather and extended stay, both were in good hands! We are so appreciative of her care and attention. Going to try to book her right now for our next trip in a few weeks!”

“My two girls loved Victoria!!! Every day she took them on walks, and gave them their every daily essentials. She would send us pictures numerous times during the day with her daily interactions that made us feel reassured that they were being well taken care of. She’s a sweet and nurturing person that you know that your fur babies are being well taken care of. The house was very clean and the girls were well picked up after.”

“Daniele stayed at our apartment and took care of our two small dogs and cat. She was professional and our animals were well-cared for. One of our dogs is on two medications and his meds were handled well. The dogs also required walking 5-6 times a day and that was handled. We came home to a clean apartment and happy, settled dogs (and cat). Lots of pictures and videos sent to make us feel better about leaving.”

“Tanita did a great job watching my pets (large dog and a cat) while we were out. The house was in even better shape after she and her daughter left. Really appreciate the care she took, including walking our dog in the hot summer heat.”

“Jennifer did a great job with our poodles. She was attentive and kind, kept our house looking and smelling fresh. She fed, groomed and cared for them according to our directions. We really couldn't ask for a better sitter! Thanks!”

“I had never left my fur baby with anyone but family and was really worried about leaving her with a stranger, but Randi eased my concerns from the first moment we met! She was so sweet with my girl and sent me regular updates while I was gone. She did an excellent job the entire time and probably took better care watching my baby than my family would have!”

“The dogs liked him. He was very attentive. Kept us posted on everything that was going on with daily pictures with updates. Will definitely use him again.”
“Briana is wonderful. She took amazing care of Lu and kept me updated. She was super flexible as well when we extended our trip! Will be booking with her again!”

“Jairo was great with ours dogs! He kept us updated, communicated well. We really appreciated the notes he left about each of them during his stay with them. It gives us peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. We would definitely use his services again and highly recommend him!”

“Stephanie was great! She communicated consistently with texts and pictures of our pups. She made sure they were well fed, took them on walks, and managed a few oddball chores we asked her to help with. Our family and pup crew hope to meet again.”

“Kathleen is great. We had her watch Caesar for 3 weeks during an international trip; after doing a meet and greet with her, we were confident he would be in good hands. We returned to a happy, healthy boy. She was both independent and communicative throughout the stay - sending pics as well. We also came back to a home perhaps cleaner than we left it. She went above and beyond; it was clear our space was cared for. Will absolutely be reaching out to her first next time we need a sitter!”

“Larisa was EXCEPTIONAL! She stayed at my home with my dogs (3 of them). She played outside with them everyday and was in constant contact with me. My dogs are very spoiled and usually take days to warm up to someone. They were her best friends within hours of me leaving. She really went above and beyond. They were sad to see her leave and waited at the door to see if she would come back. I will definitely be using Larisa again. My only issue is my dogs love her too much 😂 especially my border collie who got more playtime in the 5 days I was gone than see normally does in a month! Very attentive and loving pet sitter.”

“I wish I could leave a 10 star review or more because 5 doesn't do it justice for how Hannah took care of our boys and our home for twelve days while we were on vacation. I hope she stays our best kept secret, but she truly deserves recognition for all she did to keep that peace of mind strong while we were away, knowing our pups were in the absolute best care we could have hoped for. Hannah was kind, courteous, and sent daily video updates and images of the boys. She was thoughtful and consistent, was always quick to respond and was just overall a pleasure. We have already booked her again for another trip we have planned!”

“Sherine did an excellent job as always! In spite of the busy holiday season, she took extra good care of our elderly kitties and took our new kittens and their antics in stride. She went above and beyond taking care of the house, and we are so appreciative! Good communication helped our expectations! Will definitely book with Sherine again!”

“Kayla was very attentive with our pets! We were very nervous because we’d never used a service like this before, but Kayla took the time to do a quick meet and greet to assuage our concerns. She provided updates and pictures for both pets and followed our care instructions to a T. Excited to rebook her for our next trip!”

“I am SO GLAD I found Ericka. She did such an amazing job watching our little homestead and animals for two weeks. She took care of our dogs, chickens, turtle and cat!! Our home was very well taken care of. And my dogs were so comfortable and happy with her. She sent regular updates and messaged any issues right away. THANK YOU ERICKA!! We are so happy we found you, and hope to book you again!”

“Lisa was great! Very responsive and provided great updates during the day + photos. Will definitely book again! Thanks for taking such great care of our Cowboy.”

“Lisa is fantastic. She is super nice and accommodating. This was our first time using Rover. She was very responsive and came to our house to meet the pups beforehand and spent a long time making sure she knew every detail about our usual routine. They of course loved her and she was great with them. She sent lots of photos and updates and was also very respectful of our house. She left everything perfectly clean and in order. She will definitely be our first choice to stay with our puppies during our next trip this summer.”
“Jayla was excellent with Patience. She was attentive and responsible. Patience had to take medication and due to that medicine, he had to relieve himself more than usual. Of course, this created more work for her. I really appreciated her diligence. I would definitely use her again in the future. Pat A.”

Claudia has been taking the best care of our home and zoo for a few years and every time she is above and beyond great. Our dogs love her and she’s got so much patience with our scared puppy. She takes the best care of our home and our animals, 4 dogs and 3 lizards. We always know what we treasure most is in the best hands and we have zero worries. Claudia is trustworthy, conscientious and loves animals. Highly recommend!

Kayla was very professional and I came home from a week long trip to happy healthy kitties! I appreciated her unprompted updates and photos, and she took good care of my home while I was away. I would definitely recommend Kayla and am grateful for her help and care!!

It’s clear that Shiela loves animals. She took great care of our young dog who had never been overnight without us before. She also went above and beyond to take care of our pet caterpillar, water our plants, and she kept the house tidy. She was a great communicator and I felt confident that Maisie was in good hands. Thank you, Shiela!

Isabella stepped in last minute and even ran out for a quick meet and greet before we left on our trip. Communication was fast and reliable. She did everything we asked of her, and she sent us lots of photos!! We managed to relax knowing our fur babies were in good hands. We returned home to happy pets and the house looked great. Highly recommend!

Daniela was such a blessing! From day one she was very responsive and professional. I made her come to my house twice for meet and greet because i have two Dobermans and i needed them to get familiarized with her before my trip. She accomodated my last minute changes and made the whole experience so enjoyable. My dogs are very high maintenance and extremely velcro so i was worried it would be too much for Daniela but nope! Got so many pictures and updates that i didnt worry about my doggos (or my house) while i was on vacation. She went above and beyond and left the house even cleaner than how i left it. Even gave freyja a bath. Not ever booking with anyone else other than her :) happy with my first ever rover experience and very thankful i found her.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Piney Point Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Piney Point Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Piney Point Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
