“Tim stayed with our pets for a week and did a great job! We have 3 dogs and 4 cats so it was a lot. Plenty of pics sent to us and followed instructions to a T. It was so nice to be able to take a family vacation with everyone and rest easy that our babies were in good hands!”

“Ellie was amazing! She took Taffy on all kinds of little adventures and sent me the cutest pictures. She was super communicative and I could tell Taffy had a great time without me because she’s already went back to sleep and I just got home. Thank you Ellie!”

“Dani took care of our 2 french bulldogs and elderly cat in our home for over a week while we traveled to Europe. Having already used her services we knew we had nothing to worry about and we highly enjoyed our trip. We returned to very healthy and happy fur babies and a very well kept house. Dani is 100% prepared, dependable and conscientious and the best house/pet sitter we have ever had by far. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Ruth has been an amazing house and pet sitter for me and my two little pups! She's kind, conscientious and overall a fantastic person and perlt caretaker! I highly recommend Ruth for all of your house and pet sitting needs! 🫶🩷🐾”

“Jill takes great care of me when my parents are away. She plays with me all the time and let's me snuggle with her on the sofa. I am excited to see her when she comes to stay at our house! Can't wait to see her next. Sniffs and licks, Higgins”

“Kayla is so great! The dogs absolutely love her. We are so grateful that she spends so much time with them and is never gone for very long. It’s a good feeling to have someone you can fully trust to care for your dogs and stay in your home.”

“My dog, Dante, can be anxious around new people. Jamie connected with him immediately and understood how to handle him! I'm so grateful for her attentiveness and care of my snuggle monster!”

“Natalia was amazing with Stoops! I got home and he was relaxed and not anxious. Natalia did such a good job with keeping his routine and got along very well with Stoops. Would absolutely recommend for long stays.”

“Terra was great and took such good care of my cat while I was away. She sent frequent daily updates with pictures which was so appreciated. I will definitely contact Terra for a future stay!”

“Farah is absolutely amazing! She was so outstanding with our pup Maya! She constantly checked in and provided updates with pictures which was fantastic! Her communication was always excellent and kind! Our pup Maya absolutely adored her, and I swear she left our house cleaner than we left it! Absolutely 100/10, will book again in a heartbeat!”

“Daniele is so amazing with our cat Zeus! She is a self-proclaimed “crazy cat lady” and it shows because when we got home Zeus was clearly very well cared for and in a great mood considering we had been gone for over a week. She understands how to care for cats and gave our Zeusy everything he wanted or needed while we were away!”

“I had a great experience with Vy, who watched my dog while I was away for the weekend! She was very communicative, clean, and trustworthy! She was also flexible when my timing changed and was able to come earlier than we had originally planned. Super thankful to her and would definitely invite her to sit for us again!!”

“My second time booking with Desdrianneja and I felt so comfortable leaving Onyx in her care again! She did not disappoint and communicated with me every day. Onyx loves her and I appreciate her professionalism and kindness towards not only my precious boy, but me as well. Thank you Desdrianneja 💗💗”

“Kaira was super attentive and easy to work with. Our animals seemed to love her, even our cat, which is saying a lot because our cat normally hides from strangers. We would be happy to use her as our sitter again.”

“Naomi did a great job taking care of our pets over the holidays!! Provided great updates throughout, was very responsive to everything, and took care of our reactive dog great. I would highly recommend working with Naomi!”

“Geneva was assumed with Pepper and beans. Being very tentative with them when it came to feeding and being let out. Also spending some social time with them. Ill def recommend and hire again for future vacations.!!!”

“Jennifer was INCREDIBLE with my fur babies. Lots of communication, which I love. Tons of pictures. This was a short trip we went on so it was a good introduction of our babes to a stranger staying with them. Jennifer has already asked to come back and see them. They are such a fun loving group. We would definitely use Jennifer again in the future 😎😎😎”

“Tatyana was the BEST! She was so communicative and flexible. My dog was so at ease with her and she sent me lots of pictures throughout our stay. 10/10 recommend!”
“Lizzy took amazing care of our three dogs for a full week — each with their own personality and routine — and handled it all perfectly. We came home to three happy, relaxed pups. She also went above and beyond by watering our plants and keeping everything in great shape while we were away. Communication was excellent — we got daily updates and photos that really put our minds at ease. We’ll definitely be booking again!”

Marlene was wonderful! I highly recommend booking with her! She took care of everything in my home while I was away and my kitties loved her. I am always a little anxious about leaving my babies but she is very trustworthy and handled it all. I really appreciated the sweet photos and updates, and came home to a clean house - she even did the laundry which was not at all expected! We love Marlene and will absolutely book with her again!! Thank you so much!

Jill was such a blessing to me when I went out of the country for six days and had to leave my two babies behind. She showed up on time, took her job seriously and sent frequent photos and updates to ease my mind. I work from home so my pups are used to having people around most of the day and Jill was one of the few sitters I talked with who was happy to spend a lot of time with them so they were rarely alone. She kept them, fed, gave my older dog his heart medicine and provided enough love so I came home to two relaxed, happy dogs. And best of all, I was able to enjoy some time away knowing they were in good hands.
We would be lost without Liz. Our small dogs can be difficult and we were more than comfortable with Liz and the dogs. She shared daily pictures and updates. She also helped make sure our house was taken care of while we were out of town. 2 weeks was a long time and everything went well. Thank you so much.

grant was hands down the most incredible pet sitter i've ever tried ever! he was so good at communicating quickly especially with me being in the virgin islands where service is only available in certain areas. not once while i was on vacation did i have to worry about my pup because i knew he was in good hands. grant even last minute excepted to watching my pup for 2 more days due to a flight delay. grant is who i will use anytime i need a sitter. my concierge was even telling me that zeus looked so happy while in his care PLEASE make sure to take the opportunity and book if he has open availability, you will not be disappointed

Naomi always goes above and beyond to make sure our pups are well cared for while we are away. She provides structured routines, lots of love, sends plenty of updates and videos! She is also very well rounded in her knowledge and handling of all types of dog temperaments and needs; our two pups have very different care requirements (ie one with medical needs and one is a young dog with a lot of energy) and she always does a fantastic job with them both! I would highly recommend her! (-:

Daniela was such a blessing! From day one she was very responsive and professional. I made her come to my house twice for meet and greet because i have two Dobermans and i needed them to get familiarized with her before my trip. She accomodated my last minute changes and made the whole experience so enjoyable. My dogs are very high maintenance and extremely velcro so i was worried it would be too much for Daniela but nope! Got so many pictures and updates that i didnt worry about my doggos (or my house) while i was on vacation. She went above and beyond and left the house even cleaner than how i left it. Even gave freyja a bath. Not ever booking with anyone else other than her :) happy with my first ever rover experience and very thankful i found her.

Keely was warm, friendly, and easy going when she came over before hand to meet my puppy. This was my first time using Rover and was impressed by the level of service received by Keely. She sent pictures everyday along with communication. If there were any concerns, all minor puppy behavior, she noted them via text. For example, asked how I handled my dog, an Australian Shepherd, wanting to sprint for several blocks and be an Olympic Champ (my words not hers), I gave her suggestions that have worked for me. All to say, she doesn’t hesitate to reach out and ask what works for your dog when needed. I would recommend Keely and use her services again if she is up to my energetic Australian Shepherd.

Kendall was absolutely fantastic. She house sitted for our American Akita while we were out of the country, which is no easy feat. American Akitas are very large dogs, and notoriously difficult to open up to people they don’t know. Within 10 minutes of meeting Kendall, all of my concerns were extinguished. She’s highly professional, great with communication, and has “the touch”, where my introverted girly was best friends with her the second they met. I undoubtedly will be hiring Kendall for any future needs, and any other owner with large dog breeds, especially shy ones, should as well.

I can’t sing enough praises for Ellie. I booked her to house/dog sit while I traveled to europe for the first time. I was so anxious about leaving my babies but Ellie stayed in constant communication and sent me plenty of videos and pictures. She even met with me prior to do a meet and greet and a test run with a little walk. My apartment building is confusing but Ellie managed to navigate it well. I’m a very anxious person but i’m now so relieved to have a trustworthy sitter. 10/10 will book again. THANK YOU ELLIE

She was very communicative throughout the stay and clearly took the responsibility of caring for the pets seriously. She sent regular updates and photos, walked my senior dog daily, spent time playing with both pets, and also helped clean the kitchen and common areas before leaving, which I appreciated. I believe she genuinely cared about the animals and wanted to be helpful. Overall, I appreciated her attentiveness, communication, and the care she showed my pets during the booking.

Ruth was great with our little zoo of 3 big dogs! One of our pups is very anxious and she did great with her as well with our high energy golden! All their different foods, meds, and supplements were handled perfectly. She was very attentive and communicative. She also left our house spotless too which is always appreciated!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Southside Place on Rover is $54.55 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Southside Place walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Southside Place maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Southside Place choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Southside Place. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
