“Jenny was amazing she gave me multiple updates everyday and sent me lots of pictures! My pup was very well cared for and loved having Jenny watch her. Highly recommended Jenny and will be using her again in the future!”

“I had such a great experience with Sara! She went above and beyond from the very start—arriving early and keeping Roux happily distracted while I took care of some last-minute trip details. It made my departure so much less stressful.Throughout the stay, she sent thoughtful updates and pictures, which I really appreciated—it was such a comfort to know Roux was in good hands. She was extremely responsible, paid close attention to all the details about Roux’s routines, feedings, and medications, and really listened to everything I shared. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, dependable, and attentive pet sitter!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Elmer! From the moment we connected, his communication was excellent—he kept me updated regularly with messages, photos, and videos of my cat and dog, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Not only did he take wonderful care of my pets, but he also went above and beyond by looking after my home. When I returned, the house was even better than when I left it—clean, organized, and clearly treated with care. Elmer is truly one of a kind: trustworthy, responsible, and 100% reliable. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable and compassionate pet sitter. He’s the best!”

“Gabrielle was amazing to work with! Extremely responsive while booking (on my very short notice I might add) and continually kept us in the loop with photos and videos of our pup while we were gone. She even wiped down all the surfaces in my house, made her bed, set the couch, etc before leaving! I will definitely be rebooking in the future.”
“Kyree was great with Titan and very responsive. She even put together the new bowls for him that were delivered while I was gone. Would recommend to anyone looking to find someone who will treat their pet like family.”

“Sherine and Kai were absolutely amazing! This was our first time hiring a house/pet sitter, and they surpassed all our expectations! We have two elderly kitties and two younger kitties with a lot of special diet and living arrangements, and they accommodated everything! They also went above and beyond in caring for the house! They set our minds at ease, checked in frequently and were so awesome to work with! We will definitely work with them again in the future and I highly recommend them!”

“Kaitlyn was an absolute gem and made our weekend away completely stress-free! From the very first update, it was clear she truly cared about our dog and gave him the best possible time. She sent the sweetest, most detailed reports with adorable photos throughout the day. She went above and beyond, keeping him on a great routine and picking up after him so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. It’s obvious Kaitlyn is caring and responsible, and we felt like he was in the very best hands the entire time. We can’t recommend her enough! Thank you, Kaitlyn, for taking such wonderful care of our dog 💙”

“Sevvy did an awesome job staying with our dog Tucker over an extended weekend. He requires multiple medications including insulin injections for diabetes and had no problems administering all. Treated our home and pet with excellent care. Highly recommend !!!”

“First time meeting Nelson and he was great! The babies loved him and were instantly comfortable. Which says a lot for my senior dog! He was personable, sent consistent updates, and always responded. He’s great!”

About: I’m a huge animal lover that has been surrounded by dogs my whole life. Me and my wife share 2 pups! Kobe and Kona! My sweet girl Kona is 13 years old is the kind of dog that needs a bit more love and patience than most, so i’m great with paying close attention to a dogs behavior and getting to know what exactly makes them tick. With Kona being a senior dog with allergies and hip problems, I understand the slower care a senior dog needs. Kobe on the other hand is a silly boy that wants belly scratches from everyone. He is 1 years old and is still an energetic puppy! Getting to know your fur baby in a personal sense on its own time/terms gives me the confidence I need to believe that I will be a great dog walker and caregiver for your fur baby! I’m currently not working a full time job so I have a lot of time to care for your fur baby as needed! Mostly available for walks and sitting in the afternoon and evenings. I live in a larger 2 bedroom apartment with a big dog park and lots of walking and grassy areas surrounding me! I have 2 dogs, my senior dog sleeps the days away as she has hip problems and cannot run like she used to, and my puppy loves to play and share his toys and treats with all of his fur friends! Your dog will be given the most love and attention its heart desires! I live with my wife but she will not be caring for your fur baby.
“I cannot recommend Rayven enough! She is everything you could want in a pet/home sitter and more. From our meet and greet to the end of the home sitting visit, it was clear she is clean, caring, attentive, very comfortable with all animals, and consistently goes above and beyond. My cat normally takes some time to warm up to new faces but Rayven almost immediately bonded with our Princess, which was a huge green flag! She was so flexible and understanding when our flight got delayed and we needed her to stay for a while longer. In a stressful situation, she was one thing I did not have to worry about. She provided constant updates on our cat’s well being. She even turned on some cat friendly videos when she left since she knew it would be a few hours before we got home. I will be using Rayven for all our cat-sitting needs.”

“Darrius was amazing with my two pups. We had to travel last minute and he was quick to respond and schedule a meet & greet. He sent texts with updates along with pictures and videos. We are so glad we found Darrius and will absolutely use him in the future.”

“My dogs' mom couldn't care for the dogs at the last second before my trip. Karen not only agreed to do it, but she went over and above by staying at the house with my pups. They were so excited to see Karen and had a lot of fun. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend Karen for your puppy needs!”

“Oceana is very reliable and attentive to detail. She took great care of our lab and home while we were away! I would highly recommend her for house/pet sitting and all your pet care needs.”

“We felt really comfortable leaving our home and pups with Reagan and we will be asking her to stay again! She communicated well, was punctual, and followed the instructions that we left. She sent pictures while we were away and we returned to happy pups and our home just the way we left it 😊”

“The dogs liked him. He was very attentive. Kept us posted on everything that was going on with daily pictures with updates. Will definitely use him again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Stafford
Kaitlyn stayed with my dog while I was out of the country for 5 nights. I did not have consistent service but she sent regular updates with pictures every morning and evening. This helped me relax and enjoy my trip knowing my dog was being well taken care of. She also watered my plants. I came home to a clean home and happy dog. Kaitlyn was wonderful. Would definitely rebook next time I need a sitter.

Gabby was absolutely wonderful with Tuxie during the 13 days we were away. She was attentive, reliable, and kept us updated regularly, which gave us so much peace of mind. Tuxie seemed to genuinely love her and really enjoyed having her company. We also came home to our place clean, tidy, and exactly as we left it. We’re so grateful for the care she gave our little guy and would happily trust her with Tuxie again.🤍

Lesly was so sweet and amazing. She took the time to make sure my dog was comfortable. Rysy was smiling and playing and that makes me feel so happy knowing she cared for him so well. It really means the world to me that she was so thoughtful and considerate with sending me updates and photos. Thank you. Highly recommend!!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stafford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stafford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stafford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
