“I hesitate leaving a review, not because Nelson wasn't terrific because he was. The reason being that the review may convince others to book Nelson and then I'll have more competition for his time. Nelson told me that dogs love him. Well, I can confirm that. When we returned from a 3-day trip, our dogs met us with wagging tails and some excitement. However, previously, I had to be careful coming into our home because they might knock me down welcoming us home. This time they kept looking behind us waiting for Nelson to appear. That was a bit humbling. Nelson's college schedule worked for us. He was free on the weekends and was able to stay with our 3 dogs for long periods of the day. He sent a multitude of photos, mostly with our dogs cuddling up with him. If he had a question, he would text me, which I loved. We became modern pen pals. One of our dogs was bothering a frog in our yard one day and Nelson noticed foam coming out of her mouth. So, he searched the internet and found out what to do and he did it and the dog was fine. When it was time for him to leave, he cleaned up everything so that I didn't have to. It was great. I no longer have any qualms about leaving our dogs. Nelson took away all my stress.”

I have experience caring for animals of all sizes and species, from caged pets, to pastured pets, to house pets. Growing up, I lived in a very large semi farm, with a large array of animals. I’ve had several dogs before so I know what a responsibility taking care of them are , but seeing them wag their little tails and jumping around is a reward. About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I provided dedicated senior care for my chocolate Labrador, Copper, who lived to the incredible age of 18. Today, I have two pit bull mixes that join me on hiking adventures throughout the year, and I even harness-trained my kitten for outdoor adventures. I treat every pet like family and understand that each has their own unique personality, needs, and routine. Whether they're energetic or need a little extra care, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I am currently a wedding photographer in off season and have pretty good availability during the week for pet sitting. I typically work weekends but with enough notice and special occasions I'm flexible. I have one high energy dog and one older dog. So daily walks are a must. Sometimes separate and sometimes together. Our walks are typically 1 to 2 miles. I have two friendly dogs at home but I do have smaller home and a husband with allergies. So in my own home would probably be a case by case basis. As for other people's home's I'm flexible and respectful of house rules.

Vel did an above and beyond job taking care of our elderly dog while we were away. Macie requires extra special care (hand feeding, assistance with mobility, etc), and Macie seems to have way more energy than before we left! Vel was so attentive, sending recommendations on how she got Macie to eat more food, sending pupdates, and asking questions about Macie’s everyday stats. We were very impressed right off the bat and look forward to Vel taking care of Macie in the future.
