“Kristin was the best. I have a new dog, and I was worried about leaving my dog alone for the first time. Kristin kept me updated and communicated frequently. She put me at ease. Appreciated her!”

About: As a marine biologist by trade, I have committed my entire career to the care and understanding of animals. I have cared for a diverse number of species, not only a large number of fishes but also my own pets and those of friends and family such as cats, dogs, bearded dragons, and birds. As a volunteer at wildlife rehabilitation centers, I have also cared for birds of prey, snapping turtles, songbirds, waterfowl, and small mammals such as rabbits and squirrels. My heart is set on respecting and caring for these animals, and I would love to help you with your pets. You will know your pet is with an incredibly responsible and attentive lady, who is also fun and loves to play with these little guys. I am also a good communicator: your pet will be in good hands! :D I am able to take care of pets before and after my work at UCSD as an animal behavior scientist. On the weekends I am free all hours to take care of your pet. My cat is fed the best food I could find, that he loves, and we play many times a day to help with his wild energy. We snuggle a lot and he has a peaceful environment, with window spots to watch the neighbors with a plenty. I am very attentive to his health because he has FIV, so we have annual vet visits as well as I pay attention to his health to make sure he doesn't get sick unexpectedly and attend to his stinky teeth. Your pet will be cared for in the same way: I have a mindset of a vet and will make sure they are safe and cared for, and if anything comes up we will communicate well and rapidly get your pet healthcare they need. Beyond the essentials of good regular food and cleanliness (litter boxes immaculate), I also take time to play as long as they want or enjoy a good walk together. My lap is open- happy to snuggle and enjoy a good sit together to make up for missing their people.
“Brittany truly goes above and beyond, not only taking excellent care of our kitty but also dealing with various unexpected issues like a large sofa being delivered while we were away and our cat getting outside. She’s an awesome and trustworthy pet sitter and I would recommend her to anyone. Thanks again for everything and happy thanksgiving!”

“Marcie was so great to our pup over Christmas weekend! She took him for walks and loved on him in her check-ins at our house, and even laughed off and cleaned up the mess he made when he got into some stuff overnight. Thank you!!”

“Clarisse was fantastic. She took excellent care of our two very active cats while we were away. Grateful that she is a cat owner as well and could appreciate their needs. She played all of their favorite games, gave them lots of attention and even cleaned up after them. We will certainly be booking Clarisse again in the future. Highly recommend if your looking for a kitty sitter!”

About: Hello! San Diego native here. I’ve grown up with and sincerely love cats, but I’ve also taken care of other people’s pets over the years either voluntarily or for side income. I adapt to your pets needs, sensitivities, and unique personalities. I will share photo updates and playtime as well. I work a full-time job during the day, but I am flexible for drop ins as that role is remote. Weekends are also available. For overnight stays, I am available on Friday and Saturday nights typically. I also work as a direct support professional, which means that I provide transportation and general care for people with disabilities. I would work with the client to determine what safety protocols are needed for their home. Whether that means baby gates, limiting access to certain rooms, separation of food, and water for multiple pets or other accommodations.
“Danielle arrived on time for the drop-in and potty break for our sweet girl Rosie and was very responsive to my messages. She send cute photos of Rosie and followed my instructions exactly. Will book again!”

“Shreeya is the best! I contacted her (last minute) due to an issue with another scheduled pet sitter and Shreeya came through for me and my pets and was able to help for drop in visits. She was punctual, kind, and made sure to send photos and give detailed reports after each drop in. My pets, Klay and Dala, also loved Shreeya and we’ll be sure to reach out again for our next booking😊”

“Owen was great with our two kittens. He made sure to take excellent care of our boys, regularly communicating and sharing updates during our trip. I would recommend him for your cat sitting needs!”

About: I have experience with dogs of all ages and breeds. I am a diligent training coach and taught several dogs different tricks and commands. Hope to meet your pup soon! I am recently new to the area, and hope to use walking/pet sitting dogs as a way to get to know my new neighborhood. I also have plans to get into better shape, so expect a couple-mile walk for your pup if need be. I always start by taking my time to greet the pet with good intentions, allowing for both of our personal spaces to grow, and always make sure of a plan to keep myself and the pet safe (initial sniffs, pets and playful voice). I want to get as much information about your pet as possible (quirks, food allergies or aversions, specific routines, etc) because ultimately I want your pet to be super comfortable and relaxed. I am well adaptable and want to make your life easier!
“Alexandra was the best with my dog! She was punctual and communicative. I get nervous leaving my dog with others but Alexandra made me feel at ease. We will definitely be asking her to watch our dog again!”

About: I grew up in a home with animals and have been caring for pets most of my life. I have hands-on experience with cats, big dogs, and small pets like mice, so I’m comfortable with different personalities, routines, and care needs. In addition, I have cat sit for friends and family, providing feeding, litter box care, playtime, and cuddles. I’ve also done dog walks and drop-in check-ins, dog sitting, and making sure dogs get exercise, attention, and a calm, positive experience while in my care. I’m happy to tailor my care for your unique pet! I am home frequently and would be happy to assist with dog walks and pet check-ins during most weekdays and some weekends. I would love to help those that are within walking distance but have reliable transportation and can drive to you. I love being around animals and it would be such a treat to be able to care for you furry friend! I care for them as if they were my own family and tailor my care for their individual needs.
“Shana is just the best! She sent such wonderful pics and videos of my baby boy while he was at ‘daycare’ and it always eases my stress being away from him. She has absolutely become my go-to!! ✨”

About: My many years of experience as a group pet sitter have made me pet smart! I am calm in unexpected situations and reliable. I have experience with energetic puppies as well as seniors dogs who need a gentler pace. At 70 years old, I am a retired teacher. I stay fit with daily walks to local parks. Taking care of pets helps me stay active. I live in an apartment with a gated courtyard. It is mostly paved with a DG area for pets to explore. Clients can drop their pets here or I can travel to your home.
West University Heights pet parents share their Rover experiences
Tina has been so awesome at working with us and our dog to build our dogs trust. She has come by for multiple drop in visits so our dog can get to know her before our upcoming trip. He’s a bit of a weirdo, and Tina has been very willing to work on creating necessary trust and a good rapport with him (and us)!

Shreeya is the best! I contacted her (last minute) due to an issue with another scheduled pet sitter and Shreeya came through for me and my pets and was able to help for drop in visits. She was punctual, kind, and made sure to send photos and give detailed reports after each drop in. My pets, Klay and Dala, also loved Shreeya and we’ll be sure to reach out again for our next booking😊

Jayna took the time and effort to make sure Blaze was taken care of. She took care of his basic needs and provided attention and play time. She ensured he was fed, had access to clean water, and ensure he had his necessary bathroom breaks. Strongly recommend Jayna for any type of dog care service!

Latisha did an amazing job getting to know my cats and understanding their routines! This was my first time using Rover and I felt so comfortable leaving my cats in Latisha’s care. I appreciated the updates and was amazed that my usually shy cat warmed up to her so quickly. Highly recommend!! Thank you!

Princess did seriously such an AMAZING job at watching our kitties. She went above and beyond to make sure they felt comfortable and were well taken care of. My kitties are my babies and I feel very nervous any time I have to leave them, but Princess did a great job at calming those nerves by being so attentive to the kitties! 12/10!
