About: Insured • WFH couple with flexibility • Senior, medical needs, & rescue experience • Child free, smoke free home w/ small fenced yard & nearby park • No off-leash, no dog parks • One family at a time 👋🏼 Hi, I’m Shai and my husband is Norman! We’ll care for your pet like they’re our own. Ensuring the safety and well-being of your furry family member is our top priority. In addition to the Rover Guarantee, I am insured through Pet Sitters Associates so your pet is well covered. I’m the primary sitter, but Norman helps out with care in our home. 🏠 We offer individualized dog daycare and boarding in our home in University Heights, San Diego. To be able to provide personalized care, we only host 1 client at a time (up to 2 dogs from the same family). Please note: Early drop-off before 7am and late pick-up after 10pm will incur an additional $10 fee. The booking amount will be modified depending on the times requested. ☀️ We also offer dog/cat drop-in visits (open to other animals!) and dog walking in University Heights and areas within a 10 minute radius, which may include: North Park, Hillcrest, Normal Heights, Serra Mesa, and Mission Valley. 🐾 EXPERIENCE: 1. PERSONAL: We adopted our two rescue pomeranians Waffles and Toffee in 2018 and 2020. We’ve looked after pets for family and friends, including a young high energy goldendoodle, a senior deaf and blind shih tzu, and two slow-to-warm cats. 2. PROFESSIONAL: I worked front desk at a dog daycare facility for over a year. I handled dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments and learned how to stay organized and safe within a pet care environment. We also have been providing pet care through Rover and privately since 2024. 3. VOLUNTEER: We have been volunteering with various animal rescues for the past 6+ years, which has brought us experience with medical needs and behavioral quirks. We’ve spent time with plenty of dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, goats, and even an emu. SERVICE DETAILS: 🫱🏼🫲🏽 MEET AND GREETS: We require a meet and greet for potential clients prior to first booking to ensure we’re all a good fit for one another. It will also give us the chance to chat face-to-face about your pet and any care expectations. If it’s last minute or you are only vacationing in the area, we may allow exceptions depending on the request and after speaking via phone call or FaceTime. For longer boarding stays, we may require a one night trial at a discounted fee. 🐶 DOG DAYCARE: A day at our place includes: a clean dog proof home environment, lounging cot, small private fenced yard, semi-private unfenced yard (we always supervise and leash up), walkable neighborhood with a park less than half a mile away, and two furry hosts Waffles and Toffee. We can keep your dog engaged with walks, playtime, and command practice or just keep it chill and have them enjoy TV time with us. We sometimes go out to dog friendly places such as Liberty Station or Balboa Park, with your permission if your dog is comfortable in those environments. If your dog has physical limitations, we have a stroller for those under ~20lb. 🧳 DOG BOARDING: All the amenities of daycare, plus a safe home to rest at night. We ask that our boarders be house trained or crated trained so we have the ability to step out (no longer than 3 hours). We have a Petcube camera with sound and movement detection to monitor them while we’re out. If your dog needs human company for the entirety of their stay, we may have flexibility and are happy to discuss during the meet and greet. Please bring your dog’s crate, bed, and/or anything else to help them feel at home. We have extra beds for small dogs. 📝 DAYCARE/BOARDING REQUIREMENTS: 1) Must be neutral, indifferent, or friendly with both humans and dogs. 2) Must be potty trained. We may make exceptions for senior/medical incontinence if you can provide supplies — disposable diapers, wipes, etc. 3) Limited barking (to keep our neighbors happy). 4) Up to date on vaccines and flea prevention. 🧸 DOG/CAT DROP-IN VISITS: We offer feeding, playtime, water bowl refills, litter box cleaning for cat households, and will ensure your home is secured when we leave. For dogs, we’ll also take them out to potty in your yard or on leash outside. If you prefer a proper walk, please book our walking service instead or book a drop-in and walk service back to back. 🦮 DOG WALKS: We’ll check your dog’s harness/collar/leash for safety and walk them around the neighborhood at their pace. We’ll refill their water bowl and ensure your home is secured when we leave. 🌟 DROP-IN VISIT & WALK NOTES: Our main requirement is that your pet is not aggressive with humans so we can safely visit/walk them. We understand some animals need a slow introduction, which we can all gauge during the meet and greet. Please note we do not intermingle pets from different households. We look forward to hearing from you and your pet! ♥️ 🗓️ SCHEDULE: Norman and I both work from home. We typically have little to no zoom meetings and will plan accordingly if our meetings ever coincide so your dog is safe and comfortable. We have time in the morning, lunch time, and evening for walks and can take breaks throughout the day. We have some weekends available + flexibility in our weekday work schedule to provide dog care. ⚠️ SAFETY: We will never leave your dog outside unattended. Unless in a fenced yard, your dog will always be on a leash when outside. We do not do off leash outside nor would we have your dog come into contact with other dogs or people on a walk to avoid any emergency situations. We feed all animals separately whether in your home or ours, to prevent allergy issues and resource guarding. We would only feed your pet food and treats provided or approved by you. We are extremely mindful when opening/closing all doors and gates. We always double check leash, collar, and harness security before going out for a walk.
About: Animals have been part of my life since I was five years old, starting with my own dog and expanding to nearly every type of pet you can imagine. I’m a certified horse wrangler and have worked on a ranch where I also cared for multiple ranch dogs; handling daily care, exercise, and supervision around large animals and open environments. This experience taught me to read animal behavior, stay calm, and keep safety first at all times. I’m currently a master’s student looking for a part-time role where your dog gets attentive, reliable care, enriching walks, and of course plenty of belly rubs. With school as my only commitment, I have a highly flexible graduate schedule that allows pet care to be a true priority. Daily walks are already part of my routine, and I’d be happy to add a four-legged friend along for the journey. When caring for pets in my home or yours, I focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for just like they would be with you. I stick closely to your routines, respect your space, and pay attention to each pet’s personality and needs during walks or other care. I’m patient, observant, and communicative, so you can feel confident your pet is getting thoughtful, dependable care while you’re away.
“Ambar was fantastic. Really cool person, loves dogs, took great care of my Koda bear. Long walks, treats, nailed the schedule. Koda loves her. HIGHLY recommend.”

“I can't say enough good things about Birdie! She is super sweet with both of our dogs and always gives us great updates. She goes above and beyond to take care of them and make sure they are both happy and comfy. She is definitely 5+ stars!”

About: I've been taking care of dogs and cats since I was 15. I currently have my own mini goldendoodle and two cats. I've walked great danes, greyhounds, great pyrenees, mutts, and more. I have done daily check ins with cats as well as given medication orally and eye drops. Pet care fits into my routine as I go on daily walks and enjoying having furry friends. My dog, Bella, absolutely LOVES to play with other dogs and my complex has a dog park. I am available seven days a week to support your pets. Upon meeting the pet, I take a slow approach to allow the pet to feel comfortable. I offer different toys for the pet to play while I'm there. I take some time for cuddles and pets.
“We just started working with Kayla and we couldn’t be happier! They are reliable, punctual, and clearly love dogs. Our pup came home happy and relaxed after their walk. Communication is great, and we feel very comfortable knowing our dog is in good hands. Highly recommend! 🐾”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for over 15 years, have fostered dogs of all ages for about 10 years and had a dog of my own as well, so I have a wealth of experience caring for pets. I’m passionate about providing a safe, loving, and comfortable environment for our babies. I’m highly organized and detail-oriented, ensuring your pet’s routine and needs are always met. I also take direction well, so I can easily follow any specific instructions you have for your pet’s care. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding schedules, or medication, I’m here to make sure your pet feels at home while you’re away! The routine depends on the needs of the pet, and I can adapt my schedule if needed to make sure your pets routine is followed. Gaining the trust of any pet is the most important part of caring for them, so ensuring they are comfortable with me by familiarizing myself with them and things they like to positively reinforce my presence with love, scritches, treats etc. If I am caring for them in my home, ensuring they have a safe space like their bed or crate, and access to water and food if they are free fed.
“Rosalinda took care of our dog Meeko. He’s a 9 year old with a lot of attitude and some quirks. She did a fantastic job at making him comfortable. I will definitely be rebooking :)”

About: I have always had a love for animals and it seems to always be reciprocated. A couple years ago I unfortunately lost my best friend Onyx. I feel it’s about time I make some new furry friends. In addition to your fur baby being showered with attention and love, you can expect potty breaks as often as necessary, play time and walks, as well as visits to the park if desired. Have the comfort of knowing your best friend will be fed consistent with his/her current routine and food of choice. Treats can be provided as well of course. Although I do not have a yard with grass, I do have a large covered back patio, as well as a smaller covered area with gravel too. All of which is fenced and secure. I can provide frequent updates and pictures while your fur baby is in my care. I'm always available by text or phone if you need to reach me at anytime. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I’m currently working part time and have plenty of free time Sun-Thurs. Other than my regular couple shifts each week, I help my grandmother out regularly as well, just normal errands and chores around the house. Pets are welcome at my home. Please include food and treats of choice to maintain a consistent diet. We will go for walks and hang out on the back deck. I am available to come to you as necessary. Same attention and care will be given in home as I mentioned in my own home.
About: Hi, I’m Berenice! I’ve always loved caring for pets, and I treat every furry friend like family. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, or cozy cuddles, I make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. I’m reliable, attentive, and excited to give your dog or cat the care they deserve! I currently work full-time but have a flexible job that allows me to work remotely pretty often. I'd love to spend time with a furry friend during my lunch breaks, after work or on my work from home days. Every pet is different. Understanding their personalities, likes and dislikes is most important. I let them teach me how to best cater to their needs but I am overall a gentle care taker.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life and have always been comfortable caring for pups of all sizes and personalities. I treat every dog like my own and focus on creating a calm, positive experience with every walk and visit. I enjoy going on walks after work and on the weekends, and having a dog with me makes it even more fun and rewarding. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I already make time for fresh air and movement, and I love turning that time into something positive for a pup. I’m reliable with evening and weekend availability, and I’ll make sure your dog gets a safe, enjoyable walk with plenty of attention and belly rubs along the way. When caring for pets, I focus on keeping their routine consistent and making them feel safe and comfortable. In a client’s home, I follow all instructions closely for feeding, potty breaks, walks, and any special needs. I take time to build trust with each pet, adjust to their energy level, and prioritize safe leash handling and awareness of surroundings during walks. I’m also happy to provide updates and photos so you feel confident your pet is being well cared for.

I also have plans to get into better shape, so expect a couple-mile walk for your pup if need be.
