About: Hi there! My name’s Katherine and I’ve been a lifelong dog lover. I was recently laid off from my corporate 9-5 job and while I search for a new role, I’m looking for an enjoyable side gig. I live in an apartment complex in North Park close to Balboa Park, downtown North Park and plenty of dog parks. While I don’t own pets of my own, I am excited about the opportunity to interact with your fur baby! I’ve been dog sitting and dog walking for family and friends for years and I also am an active volunteer for the San Diego Humane Society’s Dog Day Out program. About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and am a former preschool teacher of 15 yrs. Which means I have a big heart, a lot of patience and highly adaptable . Working with kids and animals has been a long time passion of mine. I’m here for whatever your pets needs are! I’m working part time and my schedule is flexible. About: I've had dogs my whole life and have taken care of family and friends dogs overnight and daily check ins. I currently have a 4 year old Wirehaired Pointing Griffon and we put in about 3-5 miles a day to get his energy out! My roommate also has a Labrador who joins us on walks as well. My dogs won't join your dog for a walk unless you specifically request play time. I am currently between jobs so I have a lot of time to take care of dogs. Available at any time and most days. Just need a day notice in advance and I can usually make it work. I have a fenced in front yard and two other dogs if your dog wants to play with others! Multiple walks a day, dedicated play time, and trips to the dog parks available.

About: My hands-on experience covers the essentials: walks, sitting, feeding, and the occasional overnight. And I'll be upfront that I might not be the best person for complex medical routines. (Though I'm open to discuss.) What I do offer is a decade of knowledge from working at Petco - nutritional deep dives, solid understanding of training principles, and exceptional experience reading what both pets and their owners actually need. The thing I'm most confident in is patience. I don't push myself on dogs; or any animal. I let them sniff, ignore, or hide from me - whatever they need. More often than not, the "nervous" pupper who "might bark" ends up looking for me every time they visit. No tricks, no treats. Just patience. My schedule is genuinely pretty flexible. I am currently in between jobs, and my only current commitment is once weekly volunteering with Feral Cat Coalition. I do have a foster cat joining the clowder soon, I am keeping my radius close to home - only so that I can guarantee every pet gets the attention they actually deserve. I am currently not accepting any pets into my home, but I am well versed in caring for pets in their own home. I excel at following directions - specifically the owner's: their home, their set routine, their rules. No matter how cute the pet is.
