About: Hi there! I’m Sami — a lifelong dog lover originally from Chicago, now living in San Diego. I grew up with a sweet Morkie (Maltese-Yorkie mix) who lives back home with my mom in Chicago. Even though she’s miles away, I miss her every day — so taking care of other people’s pups fills my cup! I have 10+ years of experience watching all different breeds and ages ranges of dogs. If you have any special accommodations I am more than happy to accommodate! I live right between bankers hill and hillcrest area, and my apartment is pet friendly. There are lots of grassy areas nearby, and Balboa park is a 8 minute walk from me so there’s plenty of room for your dog to walk around! I work from home every day except Wednesdays so I can board your dog majority of the week! I live with my partner and we have a 2 bedroom place, so it is the perfect spot for your pup to hang out and will be getting lots of love and attention! I also have availability on weekends and try to keep my status updated as much as possible! If I’m in your home, I make sure everything stays clean, cozy, and familiar for your pet. I follow feeding and walk schedules closely, give them lots of love and attention, and send photo updates so you never have to wonder how they’re doing. For walks or drop-ins, I make sure they get plenty of fresh air, sniff time, and play — whatever makes them happiest. My goal is always to make your pet feel loved and cared for, and for you to feel totally at ease knowing they’re in good hands. My apartment is close to Balboa Park so I can take them on lots of walks nearby!

I'm a member of PSI (Pet Sitters International) and have taken many courses including dog body language, pet sitting essentials and pet first aid. I have a Pet CPR Certificate from the American Red Cross as well. I enjoy pet sitting in the clients home where I can create a customized approach to caring for the needs of their pet and their owner. I also excel at dog walking. When walking your dog, I pay close attention to how they're interacting with the environment and always keep their health and safety as a priority. I'm happy to work with you on finding the right schedule for the both of us. When caring for a pet in the client's home, I first learn the habits of the pet from the owner. This includes: their feeding schedule, medications needed, hiding places, their behavior toward people and other animals, potty habits etc. From there I create an environment of comfort for the pet making sure they are played with, fed, walked and rested. During this time, I stay in contact with the owner and update them with notes and photos of their pet.
