“Vanessa is the G.O.A.T.! I was worried about leaving my older dog behind for five days, as her only interest in life besides food is ME. The dog and I have a pretty codependent relationship. But Vanessa was not only super responsible with visits, walks, and food, I could see in videos that my dog was warming up to her and even looking forward to seeing her. Vanessa kindly sent me lots of reassuring photos and videos, which made a big difference. And on return my dog looked calm and healthy. Vanessa's care made all the difference. She's fantastic. THANK YOU VANESSA!”

“Paige was great! We came to San Diego with our pups on a trip and wanted to spend extra time away from our airbnb. She gave them some company and let them out. She sent me pictures while she was there and made us feel comfortable being away from our babies longer. Thank you!!”

About: Hi! I’m Emily, a lifelong dog lover who grew up with a husky and has since fostered dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I currently live in South Park, right between Golden Hill, North Park, and Balboa Park, making it easy for me to take your pup on enriching walks through some of San Diego’s best dog friendly neighborhoods. Because I regularly foster, I have extensive experience with: • High energy dogs, shy dogs, and everything in between • Puppies • Medical fosters: including administering oral meds, topical treatments, and basic care instructions My priority is always your dog’s comfort and happiness. Whether your pup needs structure, slow introductions, extra cuddles, or a calm environment, I take the time to understand their routine so they feel safe while you’re away. I provide updates, photos, and clear communication so you always know how your dog is doing. Your pup will be treated like family here. If you’re looking for a reliable, experienced sitter or walker in South Park / North Park / Golden Hill, I’d love to help care for your dog! I look forward to meeting your pup! I work from home three days a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide consistent attention and care. On my days off, I love being outdoors and frequently walk around my South Park neighborhood, so your dog will get lots of fresh air, movement, and enrichment. I’m available throughout the day to keep your pup’s routine on track and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and fully cared for from morning to night. I tailor my care to each dog’s individual needs. I make sure every pup is walked on a consistent schedule, fed according to their routine, and given plenty of playtime and affection. Because I foster regularly, I’m very comfortable adapting to different personalities and energy levels, from high-energy dogs who need lots of activity to shy or slow to warm up pups who need patience and gentle structure. I also prioritize mental stimulation throughout the day through enrichment activities, sniff walks, puzzle toys, and training games to keep your dog engaged and happy. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I follow your dog’s routine closely to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for at all times.

About: I’m a stay-at-home and remote working (part time currently) tech marketing professional, here in the heart of San Diego. This affords me **95% full flexibility and availability** in times I can provide dog walks, drop in visits, and accept daycare/boarding drop offs and pick ups! :) I care for all animals as if they were my own, because I understand the anxiety of leaving our furbabies when work or travel calls. 🥹❤️🩹🥰 I’ve loved caring for my Bombay 🐕 the past 5 years, and have dog walked + dog sat + cat sat for friends countless times. I live in an apartment with my chill 7 year old pup, and we enjoy walks in the neighborhood and the grass park every 2-4 hours. (On hot days, we drive straight to the grass park to avoid the cement/asphalt). This life style, with a commitment of only a flexible few hours of computer work at home each day, gives me a chance to give plenty of attention to all fur babies in my care. Especially for pups who may feel more at home in a relaxed setting (instead of the chaos of bustling day care centers or confines of a boarding kennel), my apartment can be the *calm* oasis for them whether the need care just for the daytime or for extended overnight boarding. 🥰 For cat parents 🐈⬛🐈😻: I cared for a lovely cat for 1.5 years that I dearly miss. I cannot board cats in my apartment, but I can do daily or twice daily cat visits for clients along with the duties of liter box / feeding / play time. Please reach out to me so we can arrange care! >>> I can often accept SAME-DAY-care requests after 9 AM if my calendar shows me as available. (I understand sometimes things happen last minute and you need a trustworthy person to step in and care for your pet). About: I have a lot of experience with reactive and high energy dogs! My own dog is a rescue with severe reactivity. Though I am not a trainer, I have a lot of experience training puppies and dogs as a foster parent. Whatever training guidelines you want to adhere to on our walks I can definitely accommodate. I can take your dogs on structured walks or hiking adventures depending on what they need. I am also an avid runner who used to run with dogs from the shelter before I got my own so if that’s something you’re interested in (If you’re dog is a good breed for it, and the temperature is good) I would love to! I am currently in school and doing infrequent freelance work so my schedule is very open, and I have more than enough time to give your dog the attention they deserve. I do not take clients at my house, as my own dog is reactive and anxious. But I can take care of your dog in their own space! I am comfortable giving medication, feeding, and keeping up training regimens. I have experience using a variety of training tools through my foster work. If your dog is reactive, I know how to keep my head on a swivel during walks so we can create distance, and I know what to do if a reaction occurs.
About: I have worked with a variety of breeds and temperaments. I love seniors, puppies, and all ages! I have experience with senior dogs who need that extra special care. I have been dog/cat sitting for my friends and family for over 15 years and I am very excited to meet more furry friends to add to my life. I am excited to meet you and your beloved pet! I currently work from home full time and am able to accommodate your pets needs. I can take them on potty breaks as needed and on a walk before , mid day and after work. I am open to your pets needs and energy level. I can accommodate your needs for your dog. If you want them crated, I can do that. I can do special diets and rigid feeding times. You tell me what you want and we can make it happen.
“Claire is outstanding! We felt very comfortable with her looking after our cats each day. Great communication and extra effort engaging our little hideaways. We will definitely be booking her again.”

“Ivy was extremely communicative and caring when taking care of our two cats. She went above and beyond, taking time to figure out their favorite treat flavors, brushing them so well that their coats got way softer, and taking lots of cute pics and sending them our way while we were gone. We’ll definitely be working with her again!”

“Lisa is a gem! She met with us before the trip and asked thoughtful questions to make sure she took good care of our two kitties. I knew she was paying great attention to them because her visit notes were spot on about our cats’ personalities and habits. It was fun to receive photos of them while we were gone. Most of all she really seems to like animals.”

“Mel did a fantastic job caring for my cat while I was out of town. She followed all instructions and sent daily updates, and let me know when food was running out. Highly recommend and would have her as my cat sitter again!”

About: I grew up loving dogs and have always considered them to be more than a best friend. They’re a member of the family! After COVID, I started dog sitting for friends and family members in my free time because it was so fun, and it was a nice break from my full-time job as a copywriter for Walmart’s corporate team. In 2024, I took my love for dogs a step farther and got my own puppy. His name is Yukon, and he’s a lovable goofball with lots of energy. I’ve loved seeing his personality develop over the last two years and having chats with him about what makes him happy (he’s a Pomeranian Husky mix, so he’s always got lots to tell me!) It’s been such a joy to watch him grow into the happy little man that he is today. My goal as a sitter is to give your dog the best care that I can offer. I’ve house sat for dogs that need some senior care (daily medications/specific food requirements), puppies that are just learning to navigate the world, energetic breeds that have high activity requirements, and larger dogs. I love them all and I’d love to offer you peace of mind knowing that your fur baby will be in the best hands should you choose to trust me with their care. ❤️🐾 I’m currently working part-time as a personal trainer trying to build up that business, so I have plenty of available hours for house visits, walks, and playtime. I live in a fenced in community that is very dog friendly. Your dog will be able to interact with Yukon—who is always looking to make new friends!—and the dogs in the neighborhood if they choose. It’s a great environment for socialization as well as for safety. I have room to crate your dog if needed or they are happy to explore my home and it make it their own as well. 😊 *Please note*: If you are hoping to book me for house sitting on an overnight basis, I will not be able to leave my own dog unattended. He’s absolutely great with other dogs and he loves people as well. I’m more than happy to do a meet and greet to see if it would be a fit for you and your pet, but if this is something you are not comfortable with, please book another sitter for this service.
South Park pet parents share their Rover experiences
Marcie did a fantastic job looking after our cats and went far above and beyond taking care of them when one of them got sick after we'd left the country. She took Huey to the vet twice, administered medication, isolated him as needed while keeping him company, while making sure Slinky was well looked after as well. The boys love her as do we, and we hope to work with her again soon!

Alena did a wonderful job all around walking and feeding my two pups while I was away overnight. She was kind, dependable, and responsive, sending me many adorable pictures from the walks. I could relax being away knowing my babies were in great hands. Look forward to having her her watch them again!

Our sitter did an amazing job caring for our pets. The flocked were clearly well taken care of, and Jerry looked very happy. Communication was great — they were very responsive and kept us updated the whole time, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away.

Sarah did an amazing job with my 1.5 year old lab puppy while I was gone on a work trip. Sent thorough updates, pictures, videos, and strong comms on both days after every drop-in. She even practiced the commands my dog knows to keep her mind occupied on top of playing with her. Will def be re-booking Sarah in the future.

Latisha was amazing! She did a meet and greet with my cat and I that made me feel so at ease and comfortable leaving my cat in her care. She provided great updates and lots of photos and videos throughout my long vacation! Throughout my trip, I felt no anxiety at all regarding my pets care and knew that she was being well cared for. I will definitely rebook with Latisha when I go out of town next!! Thank you!!

Evelyn is an amazing dog sitter and human being! Extremely thorough, great communicator, and very gentle with my dog Charger. Her communication and photos made me feel comfortable on my work trip, which I appreciated so much! I will definitely be using her again!
I’m so sad that I just found Christine and I’m moving in a month. Have been searching for someone as sweet and caring as her for so long. She constantly updated me, and sent the cutest photos. Felt so relieved all week knowing that my little babies were in her hands. Can’t recommend her enough ❤️
