“Ellen was a great sitter for my cat! She was prompt, communicated well, and took great care of my cat. Her calm nature helped my shy cat warm up to her by the end of the week. Definitely recommend her!!”

“Ella was amazing! She followed all of my instructions and messaged me back immediately, not only that but I had a few extra requests while she was with my cats and she took care of everything I needed. Truly above and beyond, would definitely book with her again. :)”

“Kira has always been fast to reply and so great with my two high energy large dogs! I can always tell my boys have a great time by the smile on their faces in their report card pics!”

“Bella is extremely sweet. I was concerned my giant breed mix rescue (10 months old with a mouthing problem) might be too much of a handful to ask of any sitter, but she stepped in enthusiastically and I have nothing but positives to say. I got multiple photos each visit (Monday-Friday), a fairly detailed rundown (including my dog’s energy levels, training progress, etc.), and Tulip has been in a great mood every evening when I come home from work. This was my first time having a caretaker for a pet, so I was very nervous (especially about my house being a mess) but I gained so much relief from the help and would absolutely recommend Bella to anyone looking for help.”

For drop-in visits, I care for pets in their own home to minimize stress and maintain familiar routines. I will provide detailed updates with photos!
About: I've been a dog lover for as long as I can remember, and caring for dogs is something I truly enjoy. I had my own dog for the past eight years, and now that I'm an empty nester, I miss having a furry companion around. Spending time with dogs brings me so much joy, and I'd love the opportunity to give your pup the same love, attention, and care I'd give my own. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, including senior dogs who need a little extra patience and attention. I'm comfortable administering oral medications and understand the importance of sticking to routines to help pets feel safe and comfortable. Since I work from home, your dog won't be left alone for long periods of time. I'll be able to give them plenty of attention throughout the day, whether that's walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company. I know every dog has their own personality and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel loved, comfortable, and right at home while you're away. I know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone else because I've been there too. My goal is to make both you and your pup feel comfortable, so you can enjoy your time away knowing they're in good hands and getting plenty of love. I work from home, so I'm around most of the day and have a pretty flexible schedule. That means your dog won't be left alone for long periods and will have plenty of attention throughout the day. I actually enjoy getting outside for walks and having a dog to keep me company, so pet care fits really naturally into my routine. Whether your dog loves to play, cuddle on the couch, or just hang out nearby while I work, I'm happy to make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and right at home. I'll always do my best to stick to your dog's normal routine because I know how important that is, especially when they're in a new place. My goal is for you to feel comfortable leaving your best friend with me, and for your dog to have a fun, stress-free stay. I treat every dog like they are my own. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet with someone else, so I do my best to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while they’re with me. I like to keep their routine as normal as possible, whether that means sticking to their usual feeding schedule, going on walks, giving medication, or just making sure they get plenty of attention and cuddles. I know every dog has their own personality and needs, so I take the time to get to know what makes them comfortable. Since I work from home, I’m able to be around throughout the day and give them lots of company. Whether your dog wants to play, relax nearby while I work, or just get some extra love, I’m happy to make them feel at home.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my whole life. I have experience with caring for puppies, and more elder dogs. During Covid, my roommate and I started fostering dogs. We fostered an old sweet yellow lab, 2 puppies with worms and that were to be neutered, and a rambunctious pit bull that suffered from separation anxiety. For the last 4 years, I’ve been formally dog walking and pet sitting. I travel for a lot for work so I’m not able to have a pet of my own, but I’m more than happy to walk and care for yours! My schedule is quite all over the place, so feel free to reach out and I’ll try to accommodate! I’m a nurse and I work three days a week, so the rest of the week I’m fairly available! I won’t be able to offer overnight boarding or sitting at my residence, but Im more than happy to commute to yours! I can walk your dogs, play with them, try to reinforce good habits, just let me know what you’re looking for!
“Isabel did a fantastic job with my cat! She did everything that I asked her to do and more, and I know that Venus thoroughly enjoyed her time with Isabel. I cannot recommend her enough. She is responsible, thoughtful, caring, kind, and communicative, everything that I look for in a pet sitter. An easy 5 stars, and I would highly recommend Isabel for your pets!”

“Alexa was great! She came by to give my dog some outside time while I was away for the day. She unfortunately had some car trouble but she communicated that and made sure my dog got what she needed. Sent pictures and was sweet to my girl.”

“My spouse and I were so relieved to know the kitties were taken care of while we were out of town. Jiahui was very good with them and they were happy when we got home. Will definitely be booking again!”

About: I’m a Junior at NCSU in the Pre-Vet program! I am a certified vet assistant, worked as a kennel attendant, and I volunteer with a local cat rescue often. I have experience with aggressive, disabled, and high energy animals, as well as all types of species! I can’t wait to meet your pet and give them the best care! I am currently taking classes but I am flexible in the mornings and evenings to take care of your pet! I am often free and have a flexible schedule on weekends. I will walk dogs with awareness and attentiveness of your pet, and during house visits I will make sure your pet is comfortable, happy, and healthy! I will make sure your pet is active and playing, and I don't mind attending to other requests while you're away.
“Alexis was wonderful with our furbabies! Went out of her way to bring everyone on a walk, sent lots of pictures, was communicative about timing of her visits. Real animal lover🥰”

“Isabel continues to exceed my expectations with how responsible, caring, and communicative she is. Her genuine enjoyment of my cats and the time she spends playing with them is fantastic for their mental and emotional well-being, which is obvious when I return and they are in such good spirits. She is extremely respectful of my space, responsible, and a fantastic communicator. An easy 5/5 for me.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - West Raleigh
We love working with Helena. She’s a great cat sitter. She’s been cat sitting for us for 3+ years. She’s very responsive to messages and has great communication overall. She’s attentive to details and sends the cutest check-in pictures after each visit. If you’re looking for a cat sitter, I’d recommend reaching out to Helena!

Always very reliable and goes the extra mile to make sure your pets are happy- she even left some toys at the apartment for them because they enjoyed playing with them so much! She also took the time to befriend my shyer cat so that my shy cat no longer hides when she comes over.

Sarina was so great! She accepted a last minute request to help me out and check in on my kitty. He can get very excited sometimes and play nibble when he’s getting pets, but Sarina was so understanding and didn’t mind at all. Would 100% recommend her, and will definitely reach out to her again if I need some help with my cat!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
