“Brooklynn took great care of my dog for her drop-in visit while we were out of town for the day. She is professional, on time, communicative and very nice! I would recommend Brooklynn to anyone I know looking for a reliable sitter and will reach out again in the future. Thanks Brooklynn!”

“Ayla was amazing with my pups. She helped me out of a last-minute bind with 2 separate drop-in visits. Unfortunately, we were not able to coordinate a meet-and-greet beforehand (my fault), but I left a spare key for her and though pictures/video, I was able to show her where the leash, food, toys, etc was. She sent pictures and it looked like they were all having a great time! She even moped the floor because the pups came inside with slightly dusty paws. I would definitely use her again and recommended her to anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Al and Laura did a great job taking care of Pepper. They sent lots of pictures and really spent time giving some love when they made their visits. I highly recommend Al and Laura!”

“Tara is great and I highly recommend her. She was able to quickly win over my very timid dog from the first time she met her. Her detailed reports let us know that our babies were being well cared for in our absence.”

“Erin has been such an amazing pet sitter for our fur babies. Charlie is one of a kind and can get feisty, especially when administering his oral meds. Luckily, Erin has zero issues and is able to get the job done while giving him all the love. Please book her if you want to have peace of mind while away!”
“Madison was incredible to work with for my two dogs. One is a rescue, and the other is very VERY needy on attention - so there is often anxiety for me when leaving and hoping they get the love and attention while I'm away. Madison was communicative, timely, engaged, and loving to my two boys. The pictures were amazing, they clearly had the best time (although I fear Madisons arm almost fell off with all the fetching that was done). Each visit was the full visit time, and every summary was written as if she was talking about her own pets. That kind of comfort is priceless. Worth every penny with her!”

“Julia was an amazing caregiver for our older cat when we were out of town for a week! She went above and beyond playing with and caring for her. I never had to worry about our home or kitty because they were in her safe hands.”

About: As a work-from-home professional, I can keep your fur baby company all day long, and check in multiple times a day. Does your energetic herding dog need twice-daily walks or visits to the dog park? No problem -- they're just like the Australian Shepherd I grew up with and the Rough Collie I petsit regularly. I am also an ardent cat lover with experience caring for my aging childhood cat (age 20+), as well as a skittish rescue with seasonal allergies. If you have a senior cat who needs extra care or shy kitten who needs daily medication, I'm the petsitter for you. I have an extremely flexible schedule and can accomodate boarding every day of the week. I'm also available for daycare across Raleigh, although I may have more limited availability on Wednesday and Thursday nights, as well as Sunday afternoons and evenings. Feel free to ask about my schedule! I live in a townhouse with a small, fenced-in patio and my one cat. She is typically kept in a separate part of the house during boarding, so I can accommodate animals who are reactive to cats. The yard is great for smaller dogs who enjoy being outside, but I can also care for larger animals who need lots of exercise!
“She comes and checks on my 12 week old puppy weekly and she’s been so great with him. She is flexible, patient, and very knowledgeable on pet care. So lucky to have her stop in on Bronze when she can! I would recommend her to anyone.”

About: Hi! My name is Alex, and I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I've grown up with pets my entire life and have always had animals in my home, including dogs, cats, and even hamsters. Today, I'm the proud owner of a playful Maine Coon kitten and a sweet Miniature Schnauzer, so I understand that every pet has their own unique personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, belly rubs, or simply relaxing with someone nearby, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet because that's exactly what I'd want for my own. I'll treat your furry family member like they're part of my own family and keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages so you always know how they're doing. By profession I'm a registered nurse, and I'm doing Rover because I genuinely love spending time with animals. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely enjoy spending my free time with animals. As a registered nurse, my schedule varies throughout the week, but I know my shifts well in advance and keep my Rover calendar updated. On my days off, I have plenty of time for walks, drop-in visits, playtime, and giving your pets the attention they deserve. My goal is to provide reliable, consistent care while working around your pet's normal routine Your pet's safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I always follow each owner's instructions carefully, whether that's feeding schedules, medications, exercise, or favorite toys and routines. During walks, I'll keep dogs securely leashed and avoid unsafe situations, and during drop-in visits I'll make sure your pet has fresh water, food, attention, and plenty of affection. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away.
“Whitney was absolutely amazing! I needed help on short notice, and Whitney went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and to make sure that my cats were taken care of while I was away. We were able to communicate feeding plans, and she kept me updated on how my cats were doing on each drop-in. I would definitely work with her again or recommend her services.”

“Clarisa was wonderful with our pups! She followed all our instructions carefully and made sure each dog got the attention they needed. We especially appreciated the treats, cuddles, and the sweet photos she sent!”

About: I have had much experience with pets my whole life. Growing up I always had pets in the house. If there is anything wrong with the pet I will gladly be able to take them to the vet. I have volunteered at animal shelters to help get dogs adopted. Dogs bring me so much joy and are fun to be around. Even when I am a little stressed with homework. I love animals so much. It gives me such joy playing both inside and outside with dogs. I hope that by throwing the ball and playing fetch with each and every dog I will grow to love dogs even more. You know what they say "a dog is a man's best friend", and I truly believe that.
“Nina took fantastic care of our kitties. We were nervous as first time Rover users but she made us feel very comfortable. There was a problem with our kitties electric feeders and she noticed the problem and did the troubleshooting with us to make sure they were working and the kitties fed as normal. Recommend!”

“Maggie was great! She took care of my kitty Sadie so well! I was not worried about my cat at all while I was on vacation. She also sent me photos of my cat every time she had her visit.”

“Seriously, the most amazing person to help us on our wedding day!! We forgot to leave a key and she was sweet enough to let us bring her one. She has taken care of our cats a few times and today she took care of the whole gang and was so patient with us. Thank you”

“Jade is my hero. I had previously booked her for a concert in January when a previous (non-Rover) sitter cancelled last minute, and Jade was ready to step up to the plate and help. The concert ended up getting cancelled anyway due to ice, but I knew my wife and I would have another trip coming up soon, and I knew I wanted Jade to be our new sitter. One of my cats I wasn't worried about at all, but the other can be a little shy. Jade was phenomenal with both cats, giving them both the love and care they deserve. She gave us consistent and detailed updates and she's just a joy to talk to. Jade, come back over whenever to see Noctis and Umbra! They love you, too!”

Erica is wonderful! She dropped in for daily visits for our two cats while we were away. Our cats can get a bit anxious when we're gone, but they were calm and relaxed when we returned. She figured them out immediately! Erica’s communication was great and the daily updates were fun and reassuring. She went above and beyond!! Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring pet sitter!

Nhi took care of my baby, Leo, twice a day during 30 minute drop-in visits from July 17–19, and she did a great job! She made sure he had his wet/dry food, cleaned his litter box, gave him supervised balcony time, and spent time playing with him each visit. She followed all of my instructions perfectly and even checked in with me when Leo decided he wanted a little extra food. 😊 The photos she sent after every visit are screensaver worthy! Seeing Leo happy, relaxed, and enjoying himself gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Nhi was reliable, communicative, and cared about making sure Leo was comfortable and well cared for. I would recommend her to anyone looking for dependable drop-in pet care! Thank you for making our first experience pleasantly memorable.

Karina took great care of our three pets while we were out of town, even our somewhat troublesome cat who is pretty standoffish with strangers. She sent us multiple pictures per day and kept us up to date. My dog had some health issues while she was caring for them (diarrhea) and she let me know promptly, picked up some meds that I arranged through his vet, and cleaned up the mess in my home. Highly recommend her for your pet care!

Maggie was fantastic!! Our dog is anxious around new people, but Maggie was very patient and gentle with her and she warmed right up! Maggie provided great pictures and updates with every visit. We will definitely book her again and could not recommend her more!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
