“We feel so grateful to have found Desiree for our inaugural Rover booking. She was timely & responsive to our initial questions, open to meeting our KoKo prior, provided sweet updates (and even videos) while we were away, and seemed to really get to know our dog (not just “board” her). We’re grateful for her care & attention during Koko’s stay and we will come back to her in the future.”

“Maggie did a wonderful job with Summer. It was reassuring to know that Summer was in a safe and happy place while we were away. I got regular updates and I know by the smile on Summer's face in the pics that she was happy with Mochi! Definitely will be returning for my future sitting needs. Thank you Maggie!”

“Thank you, Colin, for taking such good care of Scout. Scout was happy and relaxed when I picked him up and in the daily photo updates. It’s obvious Colin cares deeply for animals and made sure his time with Scout was packed full of park adventures. 10/10 would recommend and will book with Colin again.”

About: I am a loving and responsible dog owner with hands-on experience caring for my own dog. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and needs patience, attention, and kindness. I enjoy taking dogs for walks, providing playtime, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. I am experienced with daily routines such as feeding, potty breaks, grooming, and giving dogs plenty of love and companionship. I treat every pet like a member of my own family. I am patient, reliable, and committed to providing a safe and happy experience for your furry friend. I have a flexible schedule and enjoy spending time with pets throughout the week. I am available for morning, afternoon, and evening walks or drop-in visits. I like to plan my day around providing reliable and loving care for pets. I am happy to follow each pet’s routine, including walks, potty breaks, feeding, and playtime. I am also a dog owner, so I understand the importance of keeping pets happy, safe, and comfortable while their owners are away. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets. I always take time to understand each pet’s personality, habits, and needs before providing care. For walks and drop-in visits, I provide a safe and calm environment, follow the owner’s instructions carefully, and make sure pets have fresh water, attention, exercise, and companionship. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member. I will treat every pet with patience, kindness, and the same care I provide for my own dog.
“The best dogsitter EVER!! Lisa is amazing, she will have your family member very comfortable and relaxed!!! My bully enjoyed ever moment with Lisa and family. I will only trust Lisa with my boy!!”

“My dogs ALWAYS enjoy staying with John. My smaller couch potato dog loves his calm household with granddaughter visits. His large, fenced backyard and lots of outdoor time chasing the ball and squirrels accommodates my larger more energetic dog. I’m a repeat client and will definitely board with John again!”

“Jill could not be better. Our little dog was right at home with her. We had regular updates that made us feel great - knowing he was in such good hands was a load off. We will absolutely book with Jill again.”
“Another successful stay at Jeremy’s for my pup, Cooper. Jeremy is quick to respond, very communicative, and sends regular updates. Definitely my go-to sitter. Thanks for everything Jeremy!”

“Jordyn was awesome with our little fur baby girl. Jordyn followed instructions that we had, and gave us daily text updates on her progress. We missed our fur baby while we were gone, but weren't worried because we knew she was in good hands. We will use Jordyn's services next time, whenever necessary. Thanks Jordyn!”

“Michael is great with our 2 dogs. This was their second visit and they do not seem at all upset when we drop them off. They cheerfully go to Michael. They are happy and in great shape when we pick them up. They will definitely be staying with him again.”

“Cale did a wonderful job taking care of my pup! He sent daily updates and pictures, and my pup looked so happy playing with the other pups. I’m always nervous leaving my dog with a new sitter, but I quickly felt at ease after meeting Cale. Very kind and responds quickly, and he remembered all the details about my dog. I will definitely book again.”

“James is an awesome sitter!! His property enabled our dogs to explore, roam and have a blast! He sent us pictures and they looked so happy, having fun outside. I also appreciated him sending pictures of them sitting on his couch, so we knew they were being loved on in the home. Highly recommend James!”

About: Whether your dog is a high-energy hiking companion, a curious explorer, or a couch-loving companion who just needs some attention and care, I focus on providing a calm, dependable, and personalized experience. I treat every dog as an individual and care for them the way I would want someone to care for my own. I’m comfortable with active dogs who need more than just a quick walk around the block, and I enjoy helping them get the exercise and enrichment they need while keeping safety and comfort as the top priority. But if that’s not your dog’s speed, I can provide a calm private setting for them to relax as they await your return. I currently work from home and can provide full-time supervision of your dog with frequent potty and yard breaks. I also have capacity for multiple walks during the day in addition to yard time in a fenced in private yard with lots of sticks and smells to explore. If your dog is a runner we can even try to incorporate some jogs or runs into the day! I have a fenced-in yard that offers lots of space for dogs to roam and explore. I don’t have rules about dogs on furniture or beds and can accommodate your typical practice. I don’t have any other pets (except for a Beta fish!) and don’t accept multiple clients at one time so your dog will get full attention. I can accommodate your feeding and exercise schedules so nothing gets off-track.
“Erica was very attentive and loving to our dog Calvin. He gets so stressed when we go out of town, which in turn causes me a lot of anxiety for leaving him. I was able to talk to Erica before our trip and ask questions, reiterate Calvin's likes and dislikes and just get a general feeling of how she would handle any situations that could potentially pop up. They got along so well that I don't think Calvin was ready to come home, HA! I received several updates throughout my trip and it was clear that she was taking care of him just as I would be. 💚”

“Sheena was awesome. She took wonderful care of our dog, Lola, and sent lots of picture updates to make sure we knew Lola was having a great time. I’d recommend Sheena to anyone in the area needing to board their fur babies.”

“Liz was so kind and specialized working with senior dogs. Liz was a burst of refreshing energy and was very responsive. Our boy Chocko had an absolute blast. We did boarding and it was great. Chocko had so much fun we may do doggy daycare occasionally just so he can hang with other dogs! We highly recommend Liz!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Tumwater
I am an elderly widow and QingQuin is an absolute 5-stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟godsend when I needed her the most! My girl is very old, very slow, on tons of meds and has severe anxiety when I’m away, and I had to travel for my mother’s funeral in FL. My heart was shattered and I was worried about leaving my cat behind. Qing’s qualifications in medical behavioral care are invaluable to our family! She followed every medication and injection perfectly and provided daily photos and videos so I could tell my girl was actually relaxed. Qing is an angel to our family and always able to help last minute!

From the very first meet-and-greet, I knew my baby was in the best hands! She kept me updated with great communication and sent lots of pictures throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. This was only the second time I’ve ever left my baby with someone else, so I was naturally a little nervous. She made the entire experience so comfortable and stress-free. Thank you so much for treating my baby like the little princess she is! I could tell she was spoiled with love, attention, and wonderful care. I truly appreciate everything you did, and I will absolutely be booking with you again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and amazing Rover sitter!

I’m so glad I found Leanne! I needed a last minute sitter and she was available and very accommodating. My dog requires some extra care and Leanne provided that without hesitation. I felt immediately that my dog would be safe and comfortable in her home and she was! I will definitely book with Leanne again.

Our two pups just completed their first stay with Deidre and we couldn’t be happier on the care they received and the communication she had with us. We hope that she will have the availability to care from them in the near future but anticipate that she will grow in popularity due to her 1st class service!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
