Lauren takes such great care of our pup whenever we are away. Our pup hasn’t been over for some time and knew exactly where to go as soon as we got out of the car for drop off. Lauren’s home has become a second home for Percy and we are so grateful we found her!

Excellent sitter! We're thoroughly impressed and will definitely be in touch again. Lauren was wonderfully kind to our cat and gave us daily updates with pictures. Never felt so much peace of mind while out of town!

Wonderful as always! I’m so grateful for Lauren’s flexibility and the amazing care she gives my pup. My work schedule is pretty unpredictable, and she’s consistently dependable and accommodating with any requests I’ve had. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing Jess is in such good hands.

Schedule

I am currently in grad school at UW Tacoma and will be out of the house on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from about 5:30-10:00 PM for classes. Other than that, pet sitting is my full-time job, so I am available to care for your adorable fuzzy friends on weekdays and weekends! My availability for drop-ins and walks is from 7:30 AM to 9 PM on most days (7:30 AM to 4 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Safety, trust & environment

I have third-party pet sitter insurance with Pet Care Insurance for your peace of mind! I have air conditioning to keep your pets cool and comfortable during hot summer days. I have plenty of indoor space for your pets, and my home is safe and quiet. I don't have a yard, but I do have a patio with several large patches of high quality synthetic turf with antibacterial sand that I replace about every few weeks, and I'm a five-minute drive from the nearest park. I am also happy to take dogs on hiking trails! Other supplies and amenities I offer for boarding and day care include poop bags, potty pads, many different kinds of treats, all sorts of toys (including battery-powered toys for cats), treat puzzles, pet beds in select sizes, scratching posts and pads, and bowls in a variety of sizes. I also have two adjustable wire crates: a 29" and a 42". I live with one other person - my partner Jay, also a Rover sitter (https://r.rover.com/9VoZNn).

A typical day

I'm committed to keeping your pets entertained both physically and mentally! For pups, we'll play games like tug-of-war and fetch. For kitties, I have a wide variety of toys that they can interact with solo or with me. I also love using treat puzzle toys for both cats and dogs. I'm big on snuggle time for pets that are comfortable with that level of touch. For dogs I board or house sit, they will get at least one long walk or hike per day and as many short walks / potty breaks as they need!

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Takes only 1 client at a time
Lauren can host up to 3 pets per night
I require a meet & greet for all new clients and pets to make sure we're a good fit. Before that, I have all new clients fill out an online intake questionnaire so I can get a sense of your pet's needs and we can discuss in detail at our meet & greet. For boarding and daycare in my home, I offer pick-up and drop-off at your home between 8am and 10pm for clients within a 10 mile radius for an additional fee. For boarding clients, please note that I live on the second floor as the stairs may be difficult for certain dogs (I'm happy to carry smaller dogs up and down the stairs). Please let me know ahead of time if your pets have any behavioral issues/quirks or special needs. For boarding, I do require all pets to be potty trained and able to be alone for about 4.5 hours on days I have class. For dogs, they must not be excessive barkers as I live in an apartment complex. Boarders must also be non-destructive (no tearing up pillows, chewing on shoes, etc.), but they are allowed on the furniture. I do not currently work with dogs that show aggression towards people, although resource guarding is okay. Vaccine & medication requirements: • I require that all dogs be current in their vaccinations for DHPP/DA2PP (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza, parvovirus), Bordetella, and rabies. • Canine vaccines that are not required but are highly recommended include leptospirosis and Lyme. • I require that all cats be current in their vaccinations for FVRCP and rabies. • Feline vaccines that are not required but are highly recommended include FeLV and FIV. • I also require that all dogs and cats be current on flea/tick medication. • These requirements may differ for puppies and kittens under 16 weeks of age. • PLEASE NOTE THAT I REQUIRE VACCINE DOCUMENTATION FROM YOUR VET FOR ALL SERVICES.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
