Availability
I am currently in grad school at UW Tacoma and will be out of the house on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from about 5:30-10:00 PM for classes. Other than that, pet sitting is my full-time job, so I am available to care for your adorable fuzzy friends on weekdays and weekends! My availability for drop-ins and walks is from 7:30 AM to 9 PM.

I have third-party pet sitter insurance with Pet Care Insurance for your peace of mind! I have air conditioning to keep your pets cool and comfortable during hot summer days. I have plenty of indoor space for your pets, and my home is safe and quiet. I don't have a yard, but I do have a patio with several large patches of real grass that I replace about every few weeks, and I'm a five-minute drive from the nearest park. I am also happy to take dogs on hiking trails! Other supplies and amenities I offer for boarding and day care include poop bags, potty pads, many different kinds of treats, all sorts of toys, treat puzzles, battery-powered toys for cats, pet beds in select sizes, scratching posts and pads, and bowls in a variety of sizes. I also have two wire crates: a 29" and a 42". I live with one other - my partner Jay, also a Rover sitter (https://r.rover.com/9VoZNn).

Information Lauren H. would like to know about your pet
I require a meet & greet for all new clients and pets to make sure we're a good fit. Before that, I have all new clients fill out an online intake questionnaire so I can get a sense of your pet's needs and we can discuss in detail at our meet & greet. For boarding and daycare in my home, I offer pick-up and drop-off at your home between 8am and 10pm for clients within a 10 mile radius for an additional fee. For boarding clients, please note that I live on the second floor as the stairs may be difficult for certain dogs (I'm happy to carry smaller dogs up and down the stairs). Please let me know ahead of time if your pets have any behavioral issues/quirks or special needs. For boarding, I do require all pets to be potty trained and able to be alone for about 4.5 hours on days I have class. For dogs, they must not be excessive barkers as I live in an apartment complex. Boarders must also be non-destructive (no tearing up pillows, chewing on shoes, etc.), but they are allowed on the furniture. I do not currently work with dogs that show aggression towards people, although resource guarding is okay. Vaccine & medication requirements: • I require that all dogs be current in their vaccinations for DHPP/DA2PP (distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza, parvovirus) and rabies. • Canine vaccines that are not required but are highly recommended include bordetella, leptospirosis, and Lyme. • I require that all cats be current in their vaccinations for FVRCP and rabies. • Feline vaccines that are not required but are highly recommended include FeLV and FIV. • I also require that all dogs and cats be current on flea/tick medication. • These requirements may differ for puppies and kittens under 16 weeks of age. • PLEASE NOTE THAT I REQUIRE VACCINE DOCUMENTATION FROM YOUR VET FOR ALL SERVICES.
A typical day
I'm big on keeping your pets entertained both physically and mentally! For pups, we'll play games like tug-of-war and fetch. For kitties, I have a wide variety of toys that they can interact with solo or with me. I also love using treat puzzle toys for both cats and dogs. I'm big on snuggle time for pets that are comfortable with that level of touch. For dogs I board, they will get at least one long walk or hike per day (more depending on their energy level and exercise needs) and as many potty breaks as they need!

Reviews

Lauren was wonderful as usual! We can’t recommend her enough!

Lauren always does a fantastic job! We love having her watch our house and animals!

Lauren always does a great job! We never worry about anything when she is taking care of our pets and home.

Wonderful as always! I’m so grateful for Lauren’s flexibility and the amazing care she gives my pup. My work schedule is pretty unpredictable, and she’s consistently dependable and accommodating with any requests I’ve had. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing Jess is in such good hands.
