About: We have had dogs most of our lives - many different breeds. We currently have a four year old high-energy German Shorthaired Pointer. I love to care for dogs, and love to have a four legged friend that loves to go on walks with me. We also have three indoor cats. Cats are grreat companions. I love curling up on the couch with my cats. We are looking for overnight Rover positions in the West Valley area. I will only take a Rover position for a non smoking home. I telework and love to have animals close by throughout the day. I love to break up my mornings with an outside walk followed by an afternoon evening walk. My husband and I will do overnight sits together. Keeping pets safe is of the utmost importance. Pets are stressed when you are away - that is why it is nice to be able to provide care in your pet’s home and keep them in their comfortable surroundings. We love on our pets throughout the day and keep close eyes on our own pets at home and will do the same for your pets as well.

About: I grew up loving and caring for animals. I had dogs, cats, and even parrots growing up. I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR and have experience pet sitting for various friends and family. I used to volunteer with the Humane Society where I walked dogs and helped work play groups which helped the dogs gain social skills and helped them to get adopted. I currently volunteer with a statewide animal rescue organization doing technical animal rescues which include rescuing dogs, cats, birds, horses, and, on occasion, certain exotic animals. Our most common rescues include dogs that fall down cliffs and horses that are cast in their stalls and can't get up or are otherwise stuck and require assistance getting back up. I love getting to work with all sorts of animals and have learned a lot from the other volunteers which include EMTs, Firefighters, and Veterinarians. I work remotely from home so my schedule is very flexible and I'll have plenty of time to look after your beloved pets! I can easily stop by and check on them at your home as often as you'd like. I also love being outside so going on multiple walks a day would be a joy for me. I have years of experience with dogs and I also had cats growing up too. I do not currently have any pets living with me so your pet with have my undivided love and attention. I am able to maintain any schedules you keep for your pets such as when to feed them and any medications they might need to take. I'm certified in Pet First Aid/CPR and work with animals regularly due to my work in animal rescue so you can rest assured that your furbabies will be in good hands!
About: Since childhood I’ve enjoyed being around all pets and animals. I pet sit and house sit for friends and neighbors regularly. I work from home. I provide Reiki as well. If they want to go for a fun walk, swim, park or chill out snuggling then I’m flexible. Many dogs and cats that have a hard time socializing, eating, anxiety, I find ways to connect. My husband and I had planned and booked a 2 week bucket list trip to Peru and were set to leave in 7 weeks. We had arranged our normal pet sitter that we’ve used for years to come and take care of our (almost) 15 year old cat, Mr. Christmas. It was around that time that Mr. Christmas stopped eating. Mr. Christmas had no real health conditions, no meds…and he was declining fast. After extensive testing, imaging, and seeing a specialist, he was diagnosed with either IBD or cancer and was going to need a lot of follow up. He was on multiple oral medications and he still wasn’t eating great. I couldn’t leave him in the house with someone who can only come see him once a day. He needed more support and our normal pet sitter couldn’t provide that for him. I was fully prepared to cancel the trip, but thought I’d go on Rover to see if anyone could match what we were looking for and if anyone would be willing to do what we were asking. We needed three, hour-long visits daily, forcing food at him, weighing him, and administering multiple daily medications. I found Melanie explaining what I was looking for, and I was really impressed that she was up early at 4:30am to message me. Melanie communicated with me each week leading up to our trip. We initially didn’t have a diagnosis and I needed vet clearance to leave him. Melanie asked many questions, and when we finally were told that he was stable enough to leave, she came over to our house with a list of questions to go over with us. He’s got a bit…a lot…of an attitude. She made sure that she didn’t approach him and waited for him to come to her. She was so thoughtful about every detail of their interaction in front of us. My husband and I both felt that even though she is a stranger to us, there was something calming about her and she was very professional. We knew Mr. Christmas would be okay, but I wasn’t expecting him to thrive the way that he did. Melanie never missed a visit. She never asked for anything from me. She communicated with me daily throughout the two weeks. She braved picking him up to put him on the scale multiple times. Mr. Christmas gained weight with Melanie. He wasn’t gaining weight with me at home, but she is just that good. Pictures of Mr. Christmas started with him sleeping alone, and then he got closer and closer to her on the couch. He even started inviting her to watch him in the litter box (I’m mortified), but he only does this with “his people”. Our dog came to visit at home a few days to see Mr. Christmas (they are besties), and Melanie had no problem cuddling our dog while visiting Mr. Christmas. To describe Melanie in one or two words, I would say she is easygoing and pays great attention to detail. She makes everything seem easy and carefree, and my anxiety really appreciated that on this trip. I got home from 15 days away from him, and he is this thick ball of fluffy happiness. He was WELL taken care of. We could have never gone on this trip without Melanie. She is a true gem and I will be referring anyone and everyone I know to her. Kate did a terrific job and took excellent care of our pets. She went above and beyond what was expected and took the time to bring in a couple packages that were delivered while we were gone and vacuumed up some kitty litter spillage. We would hire her again in a heartbeat and will recommend her to family and friends.
Ket was truly a lifesaver and an absolute gem of a sitter. We contacted her very last minute, and without hesitation she was more than willing to step in and help care for our cats, Lucy and Peter. From the very beginning, communication was easy, reassuring, and thoughtful. We had already left the U.S. for vacation a few weeks before she came, so we scheduled a video call to explain everything in detail—our situation, how our fur babies were doing, their routines, and all the instructions for the house. Ket was attentive, asked great questions, and made us feel completely at ease right away. It was clear she genuinely cared and took the responsibility seriously. While we were away, she followed every instruction perfectly and went above and beyond. She made sure Lucy and Peter were well-fed, played with, and showered with love and attention. She cleaned their feeder, water fountain, and litter box machine thoroughly, keeping everything spotless. On top of that, she kindly brought in our Chewy online order and even took our trash can out so it could be picked up—small details that made a huge difference and showed how thoughtful she is. Lucy and Peter were clearly comfortable and happy with her, which means everything to us. Coming home knowing our cats were loved and our home was well cared for was priceless. We would absolutely, without a doubt, have Ket again. She is reliable, kind, proactive, and genuinely wonderful. Highly, highly recommended! 💛
