“I am living for a few months near Poulsbo and needed to find a dog sitter in the area. I connected with Brianna and we visited briefly before my trip. I immediately felt comfortable with her. She took great care of Romeo, sent me photos and updates and was easy to communicate with. My dog is small and he got along with their much larger dog. I highly recommend Brianna as a caring dog sitter.”

“Maria was an awesome dog sitter for Luna! She sent lots of photos and updated every day. I could tell from the pictures that Luna was having a great time and was well taken care of. Maria followed all of our instructions and we felt really comfortable leaving Luna with her. We’ll definitely be using Maria again!”

“Ali and her family (and Pepe!) are so great with our dog Hazelnut. I appreciate all the communication and pictures provided during the stay and our dog always comes back a happy pup!”

“Sheena took great care of my dog, Uno. She handled introductions between Uno and her own dog really well. She updated me with photos, and Uno looked like he was having a great time. It was clear he was in good hands and well cared for. I’d definitely recommend Sheena to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive dog sitter.”

“My pups had the best time at Corinne's. It was like being at doggie camp. They came home happy and slept a lot the next day :) The enclosed yard area is a great place for them to run around and be free. Corinne has a calm and nurturing presence and gave my pups a lot of love. She sent updates and pictures every day while they were with her. I have an extended trip this fall and I know my pups will be excited to go back and stay with her again. Thank you Corinne!”

“Baze loved visiting her! We got so many pictures and Jill was super responsive to messages both before and during Baze's time with her. We've already booked his next visit!”

“Chris once again did a fantastic job watching over Teddy, he sent many videos and pictures that showed how happy Teddy was staying with Chris. I feel comforted knowing Teddy is in great hands, will always come back to Chris whenever possible.”

“Ana and her family are incredibly caring and understanding, even when we ran into some issues with our older dog. I’d recommend her to anyone! Thanks so much!”

“Annette and James took great care of my mini american shepherd (Koda). Was back east for 12 nights. Annette was gracious in hosting a pre-visit to allow Koda an opportunity to get to know her, James, Sailor and Isla with me present. Koda sensed and respected Annette's gentle yet firm command. The old pasture fenced and secure with beautiful grass is a great outdoor playground that enjoyed exploring and playing with his new friends. Annette was very attentive to Koda'a needs throughout his stay and kept updated with pictures of their daily pack walks (when not raining) as well as Koda interactions with Sailor, Isla and some of her toys including smart treat toys. I have had quite a few Rover stays over the past five years and Annette and her family was by far the best stay. I am quite sure Koda was missing them after 12 nights. I would be amiss if I did not mention Annette going above and beyond. The night of drop off, I also had a memorial service to get to by 6pm. To assure I made she took the Kingston ferry over to Edmonds to pick up Koda. I was sure that I would just have to miss memorial, she assured I made it in plenty of time. Kingston may be a bit out of the way, but we'll worth the drive from Renton, WA., I had a gut feel on what to expect. Annette far exceeded my expectations.”

“Nancy is a wonderful dog sitter. She constantly sent us photos, videos and updates of our dog while we were away. Our dog looked very happy. We will definitely use her services again.”

“Ashley was better than we could have ever expected! Our dogs can be picky and they were so happy at her home. So much so I think they missed her! She communicated promptly and regularly with lots of pupdates and pics. Highly recommend!!!”

“Kevin and his partner took great care of our dog, Ozzy. We got nice pics everyday, so we could see how he was doing. They took Ozzy on walks, and the communication was excellent. The whole process was smooth and easy. I highly recommend Kevin.”

“Our 1yr golden had quite a blast during her 5 days with Kara & her husband! We got pictures on a daily basis and she was always a blur in them because she was actively playing with the other dogs!! When I picked her up, she was falling asleep in the car - she was obviously well played and was tired!! Picking her up and dropping her off was super easy - parking/unloading is nearby and they were extremely flexible with the times!”

“Emily was an amazing sitter! She was super communicative and sent a lot of pictures. She took my dog on multiple adventures. Emily was very flexible and even let me drop my dog off a few hours early.”

“We are extremely happy with the care our pet sitter and this wonderful family . From the moment we met them, we felt reassured, and they truly exceeded our expectations. They took such loving and thoughtful care of Prince, treating him like their own. He was not just looked after, but genuinely happy—getting plenty of exercise with runs, lots of affection, and constant attention. We especially appreciated how neat and clean they kept him and all his belongings. Their beautiful gals took wonderful care. Prince can be a bit of a fussy eater and needs some encouragement during mealtime, but they handled that with great patience and care, making sure he was well-fed and comfortable. They truly went above and beyond, taking care of him even more than we had asked. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such capable and caring hands. We would absolutely recommend them and will definitely be going back to them again!”

“Elizabeth was amazing with our reactive dog Chicken. She is extremely kind, communicative, and reliable. Chicken is an Aussie and they can be selective with new people and she did great with Elizabeth and her family. She sent regular updates and photos which was super helpful. I can tell Chicken feels really comfortable and well taken care of when she’s at Elizabeth’s.”

“Eleanor was absolutely amazing with our pups while we were traveling internationally. She kept us at ease with consistent updates and lots of photos, which we really appreciated. It was clear they were in great hands the entire time. We’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“Christie was a wonderful host to our 2 pugs. This was out first Rover experience and we could not have been happier. Christie sent us pictures and updates every day and even sent us home with portraits that will have us laughing and enjoying for years. We definitely plan to have Christie watch our babies again. They had so much fun and were very loved.”

Izzy is WONDERFUL! She took care of my pup for 4 nights and sent photo updates each day. He looked to be having a great time with the other pups. I can tell he was kept to a schedule because he is not out of sorts being back home. The meet and greet at our local dog park, scheduling the boarding dates, drop off, updates and pick up were so easy I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thank you so much, Izzy. We will be returning boarders!!!

Ashley is our favorite—Joni’s and mine. She so incredibly competent, she has this knack for taking the best in-motion and candid pics of Jo (and then sending them to us right when we need a fix) and her property is Jo’s favorite place on earth I’m pretty sure. We’re big fans.

Thank goodness I found Michelle, she provides a calm, spacious and secure environment. My dogs love it there- dog beds and toys all over the place. She is very competent, and I am 100% at ease leaving my pups with her. My dog Littles has a ton of triggers, and Michelle provides a relaxing environment for her. In addition I am confident that if Littles (who is a staffy) did have a manic episode Michelle could handle it.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
