“She's the best! She goes above and beyond every single time, doing little things that are not expected or asked for, like flipping a tripped breaker or prepping our cats next meal when we are home. This was very appreciative as we got home at 2am and their breakfast the next morning was portioned out in their dishes and ready to go in the fridge. Lisa is so reliable and we look forward to reading her "report cards" she leaves every day!”

“Hannah was great, she took good care of our kitty while we were out of town. She was communicative and sent photos every day. Would definitely have her again.”

“Ryan is a reliable, good communicator and has a lovely calming presence around animals that was perfect for our shy kitties. She is a seasoned pet sitter in high demand, and we’re grateful she fit us into her busy schedule!”

“I feel confident when I leave for work that my dog Gemma is in great hand with Karen, Karen is a great communicator, and responsive to request to care for you pet. I’m fortunate to have found her on Rover!”

“Elizabeth is absolutely AMAZING! This is the very first time using Rover and finding Elizabeth, and retaining her service to check in on my Puppy-Buddy, Liam, has been a fantastic experience. Liam instantly connected with Elizabeth. Elizabeth provided Liam with the care and love he needed while I was away. Liam seemed completely happy every day when I arrived home, and not because he saw me, but because of all the visits he received from Elizabeth. Elizabeth made sure to send plenty of pics and videos of playtime with Liam and this made me very confident that choosing Elizabeth to connect with Liam was the perfect choice. I would give Elizabeth 6 stars and more if given this option. I highly recommend Elizabeth, so long as I don't need her first.”

“Shelby is a reliable, communicative dog sitter who treats our dog and home with respect. We have hired her before and continue to book her—she’s always helpful and easy to work with.”

About: I have been house/pet sitting for a few years now. But aside from that I have a dog and cat of my own! I love hanging out with animals and giving them love and affection. I have loved animals since I was little and have helped take care of my pets since elementary school! I would love to show your animals some love while your away, letting them know they are safe! I am currently unemployed and have a bunch of free time to engage with your animals! I want to include taking care of loving animals into my weekly and/or daily routine! I will walk your dog, play fetch, snuggle and give lots of tummy rubs! I know that your pet will be most comfortable in their safe, familiar environment and want to make sure that your pet is happy!
“Being our first use of your service, we were very pleased with Alana. She gave us daily updates of our cats as well as pics awaiting their meals. The feeders were set and the litter tidy. Our old girl sometimes misses the target……”

“Natasha does an exceptional job caring for my dog, Sloan! She goes above and beyond during every drop-in visit, incorporating puppy training seamlessly into their play and care time. I’m always impressed by how well she adjusts to Sloan’s needs each day—whether that means extra exercise, mental stimulation, or just some calm companionship. Natasha literally speaks dog—I’m convinced she’s a true dog whisperer. Her understanding of canine behavior and her gentle, confident approach make all the difference. As a nurse with a busy and unpredictable schedule, it gives me such peace of mind knowing Sloan is in her capable and loving hands. I couldn’t recommend Natasha more highly!”

“Kyrna was great with my pup! She followed instructions well and was flexible with my adjustments, and I could tell my girl was happy from their time together. I hope to use her services again in the future!”

About: What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give each pet. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, comfort level, and quirks, and I take the time to learn what makes each one feel safe and happy. I’m patient, dependable, and attentive to the little things—from making sure a nervous pup feels comfortable to keeping an energetic dog entertained and giving senior pets the extra patience and care they need. I’m also very conscientious about following feeding schedules, medications or special instructions, exercise routines, and each owner’s preferences. Most importantly, I treat every pet as an individual and care for them as I would want someone to care for my own. My goal is for your dog to have a fun, comfortable experience while giving you complete peace of mind while you’re away. My schedule gives me the flexibility to provide consistent, dependable care throughout the week. I’m able to plan my day around my pet-care commitments, including walks, drop-ins, and extended visits, rather than rushing through them. I’m flexible with scheduling and understand that every pet has different needs and routines. I’m happy to work with owners on feeding times, walks, playtime, and other care instructions to keep their pets as comfortable and happy as possible. When I commit to caring for a pet, I make them a priority—not just another stop on my schedule. 🐾 Safety and trust are my top priorities. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, triggers, feeding instructions, exercise needs, and any special care before I begin. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully and keep a close eye on pets throughout their visit, walks, or stay. In a client’s home, I treat their space with the same respect I would expect for my own. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure, keep pets away from anything potentially unsafe, and leave the home clean and secure when I leave. Whether I’m caring for a pet in their home or taking them for a walk, I want both the pet and their owner to feel comfortable and confident. I’ll provide updates and photos so you can relax knowing your furry family member is safe, happy, and well cared for. 🐾
“Maya was incredible with our dogs! She was very patient with our dogs, as well as took the time to connect and empathize with them. She did a great job adapting and establishing routines with them. We really appreciated Maya’s attention to detail, her communication, as well as all of her updates and photos. Maya gave us a lot of confidence that our pups were well taken care of and given lots of love while we were away. They also seemed to be doing great when we returned! We highly recommend her to anyone in the area looking for someone to care for their dogs!”

About: I am a genuine happy pet loving guy. With at least ten years caring for my own pets (2 cats, 3 dogs). I have my own transportation and have been first aid certified so I know what to look for at the first signs of any trouble with pets. My days and weekends are perfect time for walking and caring for dogs and cat sitting. I work part time at night as a caregiver, but I can plan house sitting around my other work. I like pets and can’t wait to meet yours. I have a big home and am open to one or two animals a week, but no double booking and no outside cats. However, in a client’s home they set the rules and I respect their space.
About: I grew up with a dog and 2 cats. Our dog was a beagle who joined our family around the time I was 3, so I spent my whole childhood playing with, cuddling with, and taking care of a dog. I also helped my parents train him with clickers and treats (positive reinforcement). I have also spent the last about 7-8 years taking care of my friends’ pets when needed. I’ve taken care of a friend’s boxer/hound/etc mix (while caring for her family’s 5 cats), another friend’s bulldog/boxer/etc mix, my sister’s coonhound mix (at ages 2 years and younger), and assisted my sister with taking care of some dogs when she was previously on Rover (senior chihuahua, and a couple mid/large-sized dogs). Additionally, I started volunteering with Kitsap Humane Society over the last few months and have really enjoyed walking a large variety of dogs there. I love cuddling with dogs, getting them outside in the fresh air, and just spending time with them in general. Plus, I’ve got a bachelor’s in psychology, so I’ve got plenty of behavioral science knowledge. I have a fully remote job, so I am almost always home. With that flexibility, I will have plenty of time for going on walks, having some play time, and giving your sweet dog love and attention. On weekends, I love to get outside for a run or walk and would be happy to bring your dog with me if they enjoy getting some good exercise in. I don’t have any pets in my home, but am not able to offer boarding at my house due to my boyfriend’s allergies. In your home, I am always happy to do whatever is best for your dog. If they like going to a specific dog park, like walking on trails, need specific sorts of activity, etc., please let me know and I am happy to do whatever I need to do to keep them happy and comfortable while you’re gone. Overall, just here to do whatever is best for you and your dog.
About: I was a certified veterinary technician for 4+ years with experience in small, large, and exotic animal care. I also have 2+ years of experience working for a boarding/doggy daycare and grooming company. I regularly dog and cat sit for friends and coworkers. I am free for early morning, lunchtime, and evening walks and drop in’s! I am also available anytime on the weekends as well! I enjoy being able to split my days between work and animal care. I always start with a meet-and-greet with the pet and family beforehand as it builds trust with the owners and the pet. I also have a checklist of information that I ensure is completed for both my and the families peace of mind which includes information like an emergency contacts, allergies, medications, preferred potty times, and favorite toys and treats. Making sure your pet feels safe and comfortable with me is my top priority.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
