“Shelby is an excellent sitter. We burdened her with a litany of tasks for our three cats: litter boxes, food, water, water fountains, meds, and she handled them with professionalism and efficiency. She got her share of surprises too, including some cat vomit. Again, not rattled. Shelby did everything we asked of her, and was so attentive to our cats, playing with them in between tasks and sending boatloads of pictures. Her report cards are detailed and yet concise. Highly recommend her.”

About: I have been house/pet sitting for a few years now. But aside from that I have a dog and cat of my own! I love hanging out with animals and giving them love and affection. I have loved animals since I was little and have helped take care of my pets since elementary school! I would love to show your animals some love while your away, letting them know they are safe! I am currently unemployed and have a bunch of free time to engage with your animals! I want to include taking care of loving animals into my weekly and/or daily routine! I will walk your dog, play fetch, snuggle and give lots of tummy rubs! I know that your pet will be most comfortable in their safe, familiar environment and want to make sure that your pet is happy!

About: I grew up with a dog and 2 cats. Our dog was a beagle who joined our family around the time I was 3, so I spent my whole childhood playing with, cuddling with, and taking care of a dog. I also helped my parents train him with clickers and treats (positive reinforcement). I have also spent the last about 7-8 years taking care of my friends’ pets when needed. I’ve taken care of a friend’s boxer/hound/etc mix (while caring for her family’s 5 cats), another friend’s bulldog/boxer/etc mix, my sister’s coonhound mix (at ages 2 years and younger), and assisted my sister with taking care of some dogs when she was previously on Rover (senior chihuahua, and a couple mid/large-sized dogs). Additionally, I started volunteering with Kitsap Humane Society over the last few months and have really enjoyed walking a large variety of dogs there. I love cuddling with dogs, getting them outside in the fresh air, and just spending time with them in general. Plus, I’ve got a bachelor’s in psychology, so I’ve got plenty of behavioral science knowledge. I have a fully remote job, so I am almost always home. With that flexibility, I will have plenty of time for going on walks, having some play time, and giving your sweet dog love and attention. On weekends, I love to get outside for a run or walk and would be happy to bring your dog with me if they enjoy getting some good exercise in. I don’t have any pets in my home, but am not able to offer boarding at my house due to my boyfriend’s allergies. In your home, I am always happy to do whatever is best for your dog. If they like going to a specific dog park, like walking on trails, need specific sorts of activity, etc., please let me know and I am happy to do whatever I need to do to keep them happy and comfortable while you’re gone. Overall, just here to do whatever is best for you and your dog.

About: I’ve grown up with pets and truly can’t imagine life without them! I currently have a 12-year-old Frenchton who I’ve had since she was just 3 months old, as well as two cats. Caring for animals has always been a big part of my life, and I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust to care for your pets while you’re away. I’ll treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. I work from home a couple of days a week and have a fairly flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to care for your pets. I’m available for boarding Friday through Wednesday and can accommodate drop-in visits any day of the week. As a longtime pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to know your pets are in good hands while you’re away. I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine and any care instructions you provide, and I’m happy to send regular photos and updates so you can feel confident they’re happy and comfortable. About: I’ve had animals my whole life! I’ve grown up with cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and even a pet rat! I love animals and want to spend time with them as much as possible! Sarah, as always, is amazing. I trust her to care for and love my critters like her own. My geriatric kitty cat hauls her old bones out of her heated cat bed to climb down the stairs and greet Sarah. I've seen her do it, and she doesn't even get herself up to greet ME! She's particular and crotchety as all hell, but she loves Sarah. Honestly, there's no greater evidence that somebody is good people as when an old calico gives her stamp of approval consistently. Neko thinks a visit from Auntie Sarah is the best thing. Only just slightly less so then a Churu, IYKYK!!

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
