“Lorelei is such a great host! I have boarded my puppy with her about 5 or 7 times over the course of December 2015 and January 2016 and I can only say great things about her. Her apt is very welcoming to dogs as she always has fellow playmates around and has a patio area where they can eliminate. One time, my puppy jumped off the furniture wrong and had hurt himself. She called me immediately and also did the courtesy of contacting DogVacay’s own vet for advice. My experience of Lorelei is that she is very attentive to the dogs and cares for them as if they are her own. As a bonus, Lorelei also wrote me thank you cards! I have booked with someone else when she wasn’t available and now I have learned that if you’re going to book on DogVacay, choose Lorelei!”

He even walked the perimeter of his fenced in area (again) to make sure our smaller dog couldn’t find a way out. He took such good care of them, and sent notes and photos the whole time we were gone. I think my dogs were sad to leave his place. I cannot recommend Tyler highly enough. We will definitely use him again.”

“Amanda watched our working line GSD for over a week while we were in Hawaii and she has watched him in the past for doggy daycare. “We've used a few different pet sitters for our kitties over the last few years, mostly when we go on vacation and are not able to take them with us. I'm so happy to say that we finally found one that does more than just food, water and litter. Our previous sitter was in and out in 20 minutes, tops. She hardly said hi to the cats, and certainly never took time to play with them. Jessica, on the other hand, spent time with them, interacted with them, and sent us photos of them – which were very much appreciated. Of course, she also was on top of the food, water and litter, and she also swept the floors that invariably get tracked with cat litter, and she most likely cleaned up a few other cat messes – but the time she spent interacting with them was so much appreciated – both by us, and I’m sure, the cats. I'm sure the kitties are both lonely and bored while we're gone - so even spending 10 extra minutes interacting with them is so important, and Jessica was often there longer than the 30 minutes we booked. We’re so happy to have chosen Jessica, and definitely plan to book her again the next time we need someone to care for our kitties!”

I started by pet sitting overnight for my grandparents while they were on vacation and eventually started pet sitting for friends and family. About: I’ve taken care of multiple kinds of dogs and cats for family and friends ever since I was a little kid, and owned both kitties and doggies of different breeds most of my life. I’ve read a few training books for doggies, stayed multiple nights for pet sitting, volunteered at pet shops, worked at pet stores, handled kittens and puppies with care, worked with senior cats and dogs, as well as other barn animals as well! I am currently working a part time job in silverdale, usually around 10-15 hours a week. I always receive my schedule at least a week in advance, so I just need time to plan around that. Otherwise, I’m a fairly open schedule! I have experience with crating dogs and giving them daily medicines if needed, or any unique care. If there is ever at all an emergency situation, I will call you immediately while also taking your dog to the vet.

I’ve cared for my neighbors’ dogs and regularly walk dogs around San Diego while I’m in school. I'm usually home throughout the day, which means I have plenty of time to spend with dogs—whether it's playing, walking, or simply keeping them company. I typically head out for a workout in the late morning, but otherwise, my days are calm and flexible. I’m only available over the summer, from June through the beginning of August. I keep dogs active with runs and walks, then spend downtime relaxing with them, playing, or just hanging out to make sure they stay happy and comfortable.

About: Hi! I’ve been around animals my entire life, and caring for them has always been part of my everyday world. From a young age, my life has revolved around animals and helping them become the best versions of themselves. Some of my earliest experiences were with cats, including a feral rescue named Misty I bonded with closely as a child. I tend to connect well with animals that are more troubled, reactive, or unsure, and I’m often able to bring out their calmer, more trusting side. Later on in my life, my experience expanded significantly through raising and caring for Golden Retrievers. Growing up around breeding and long-term dog care taught me responsibility, consistency, and how much attention animals need at different stages of life. I’ve been involved in raising dogs from newborns to adulthood, and many of the dogs I’ve helped raise have gone on to become unforgettable adventure companions for their families. Over the past fifteen years, I’ve gained extensive experience working with animals through long-term, hands-on care. My background as a Golden Retriever breeder has given me perspective on how different animals can be, even within the same breed. Every animal has unique preferences, behaviors, and ways of communicating, and learning to recognize those differences has been a major part of my experience. I’m comfortable managing multiple animals at once and handling a range of needs without becoming overwhelmed. I’m most accustomed to larger dogs, but my experience raising puppies has given me the delicacy and awareness needed to care for smaller animals as well. I’m especially familiar with puppies under six months old, including their unpredictable behavior and the extra attention they require. I’ve also worked with dogs that can be semi-reactive in certain situations. While I’m not willing to take on dogs that are broadly aggressive, I retain the right to assess the dog before accepting. I’m most comfortable with working with dogs that are borderline reactive but not reactive-aggressive. I can recognize signs of stress or reactivity, and can manage dogs that are generally well-functioning but may need thoughtful handling in specific situations. I currently have a flexible schedule and am available for drop-ins and walks throughout the day, generally between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, unless I’m staying at a client’s home for house sitting. Animal care already shapes my daily routine, and I’m used to structuring my day around feeding schedules, exercise, outdoor exposure, and rest. I’m comfortable juggling different routines and planning time and resources around an animal’s specific needs. I’m very conscientious about safety and environmental risks. I pay close attention to doors, gates, toxic plants, household hazards, interactions with unfamiliar animals, and changes in an animal’s behavior. I rely on observation and experience to distinguish between normal behavior and something that may need attention. If something seems off, I communicate clearly and directly, providing context and details without being alarmist. I also enjoy sharing updates and photos so owners feel informed and connected while they’re away. I have experience filming and taking photos of animals especially dogs and cats that don’t sit still - so you’re bound to get a good photo or two of them.

About: I’ve been caring for animals for most of my life and have grown up in a home with dogs since I was five years old. I cared for my own chihuahua–pug mix, who lived to be 18 years old. This gave me extensive hands-on experience with both daily care and the unique needs of senior dogs. I also have several years of hands-on experience caring for cats. I’ve had my own cats for about six years, including one with chronic pancreatitis who requires frequent medication administered through a topical ear ointment. Caring for a pet with ongoing medical needs has made me very attentive, patient, and comfortable supporting animals who need extra care or special routines. In addition to caring for my own pets, I’ve provided pet sitting for several repeat customers, caring for dogs with different personalities and energy levels, including a senior terrier, a pitbull, and a husky. This has helped me become comfortable adapting to each dog’s individual temperament, whether they need gentle companionship, structured routines, or more active engagement. Because I travel occasionally myself and rely on pet sitters for my own animals, I also understand the experience from an owner’s perspective. I know how important clear communication, reliability, and regular updates are when someone else is caring for a beloved pet. I make it a priority to follow routines closely, respect each owner’s preferences, and provide thoughtful updates and photos so you can feel comfortable, informed, and confident while you’re away. My approach to pet care is calm, attentive, and respectful of each animal’s comfort level. I’m comfortable with different routines, energy levels, and personalities—and I always make sure every dog feels safe, happy, and cared for. About: Hi, my name is Amber-rae, I am 22 years old and animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember — I’ve cared for everything from barnyard animals to beloved family pets since I was 9 years old. Dogs have always been by my side, and I welcomed my very own pup into my life at just 10 years old. With a lifetime of experience, I know how to keep tails wagging, paws moving, and pets happy, safe, and loved. We’ve got two beautiful boy cats at home who are our only pets at the moment. But i often care for my mothers dogs, she has 6 of them, four little Havaneese and two giant mastiffs At home our cats have free roam or the house and are only sometimes locked in their bedroom (the bathroom) because that’s where their food and litter box is. They’re given plenty snuggles and love, especially from my daughter, they love to play and cuddle on her bedroom floor. As for a clients animal, I will follow whichever routine is given for each animal (cat or dog) Whether it’s playing fetch, simply feeding them or going for a walk.
