“Zoe did an excellent job with her drop in visit that included walking and playing with my pup while I was at work. Would highly recommend Zoe for taking care of your pup when you are away. Thank you so much again. Awesome job!”

“Our first choice whenever we need a sitter; Victoria does an excellent job. Updates are timely and always have lots of fun action shots, making it easy to not worry about the boys while we’re away.”

About: Hello, my name is Terry and I am currently working towards a biology degree for pre- veterinary medicine. Feel free to reach out and we can discuss how I can help! Hi, thank you for your interest, my schedule is subject to change. Contact me for my updated schedule. I may be occupied with pre made plans depending on the day. I have a fensed in backyard. I do not have any pets living in the house. There is a 11 year old girl that would keep your pet company under supervision.
“Julia did a great job taking care of my cat while I was out of town. She was very communicative and I felt like I could relax while traveling knowing my cat was in good hands. Would definitely book again!”

“Alayna did a great job with Molly today. Molly had an upset stomach and threw up and Alayna cleaned it all up. She also made sure Molly had plenty of water. Of course she walked Molly and played with her as well. It’s so nice to know Molly is in good hands and I can rest easy and enjoy myself when I’m away from her.”

“Samantha is always fantastic with our senior cats who take blood pressure medication. She sends videos and gives detailed updates. She is a trustworthy pet sitter and we count on her every time we have the need for a sitter.”

“Desiree was great! Our babies were well taken care of the week we were out of town. We would definitely recommend her services and look forward to working with her in the future.”

About: I’ve cared for different kinds of dogs on a regular basis and for short periods of times as well. I can also check in on cats as well and feed them and make sure they’re okay. I work for the schools and I am currently on summer break right now so my schedule is extremely flexible. I have my own dog I care for as well but will definitely have the time to check in on your fur babies as well. I always check my backyard for critters before letting my dog out, especially at night. I personally get skunks in my area frequently and it’s a must. My dog has a doggy door and loves outside time but I always know where he is. I feed him and make sure he’s always comfortable. This is the same kind of care I would provide for your fur babies.
“Sarah was wonderful watching our fur babies! She is clear in her communication and very helpful as it was our first time using Rover. We will absolutely utilize her services in the future!”

“Jo is incredible, and I feel so lucky to have found her. She takes such thoughtful, loving care of Jake every single visit. She plays with him, gives him tons of affection, and always makes sure he gets outside time to explore. I love that she even updates me on the things he forages in the backyard — it shows how closely she pays attention to him. She keeps his water fresh, gives him his ice‑cube snacks, and sends the cutest photo updates. I feel at ease knowing he’s with her. Thank you, Jo!”

About: I am always smiling brightly every time I have the opportunity to be with an animal. (I have many photos of this to share!) I love all types of these precious beings! Some of my life experiences include: Parenting Dogs, Cats, Kittens, Lizards, and Senior Pets. I have assisted in kitten birth and successfully bonded with, and adopted a feral kitten who (still) adores me... Yay! 😁 I have also cared for a very sick lizard and kitten by myself that required extensive care for a few long months. All types of animals seem to be attracted to me, including... dogs, cats, ferrets, horses, donkeys, goats, possums, squirrels, etc. I love the saying, "If animals are drawn to you, it's not random. They can sense good energy and are naturally drawn to calm and safe vibes." I have been a volunteer at the Michigan Humane Society and I am also a medical professional (for humans). *Disclaimer: My '30' years of experience is personal. 📆 My typical availability might be something like: M-Th evenings 6-9pm (I usually work my primary job M-TH 7am-5:30pm) - *After those hours, FEEL FREE TO ASK IF NOT OPEN ON CALANDER* (I may arrive in medical scrubs), Friday afternoon 10am-3pm *FEEL FREE TO ASK IF NOT OPEN ON CALANDER* and most Saturdays / Sundays.✨ Sometimes I am more available and sometimes less... This schedule is not always definite but I will keep my calendar availability posted and up to date. *ALWAYS FEEL FREE TO ASK IF NOT OPEN ON CALANDER. I 'MAY' BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE* 📆 🏠 House sitting can also 'sometimes' be booked with notice if marked 'Unavailable' in my calendar. Feel free to ask. 🏠 👍🏾 Since I am attempting to transition from human care to animal care, I still work full time (plus) in the Human Healthcare field and my work schedule varies. (I am certified in human CPR and hopefully animal CPR to come...) 👍🏼 🐈⬛ I have always had a strong desire to work with animals and I am hoping to finally transition from human care to animal care but I prefer to interact with animals and enjoy what they bring to the world, rather than do restraining and invasive procedures on them. 🐶 I am pretty intuitive about what makes an animal happy (and not) and I would make their time with me as awesome as I possibly can! Additionally, I would happily engage farm animals, birds, and others to my full ability!
“Samantha is wonderful with the dogs. You can see how much she really cares for animals. The photos and updates she sent were fantastic. I can't wait to book with her again.”

“Shelby was a blessing from the first message. I always worry when someone new is watching my babies but she put my mind at ease. She kept me updated with amazing pictures and details. She was respectful of my home and critters. I am beyond thrilled with their care while I was away. I loved that she was quick to answer messages and provided a safe caring presence in my absence. Very grateful and I will book her again! (Hopefully soon!)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sterling Heights
This was the first time Callahan looked after my pets, and she did a great job. She sent me photos and check in times and when I return, my pets were happy and while taking care of, I will definitely hire her to take care of my pets again when I’m out of town. Thank you very much Callahan for taking care of my babies.

Our big girl was diagnosed with diabetes earlier this year and we couldn’t get family and friends to agree to give her her insulin shot when we needed someone to come let the dogs in and out and feed them on occasion. I turned to Rover to see if we could find someone to do it. I chose Lauren, and she was willing and able. She showed up right on time, and took care of the dogs for us. We will be scheduling with her again in the future and are very excited that we can do day trips again and not have to worry about our big girl getting her meds properly! Thanks Lauren, you are so very much appreciated!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
