“Lyndsey was absolutely amazing with Tilly during our trip to Disneyland! She got a ton of walks and was clearly very happy and comfortable, and Lyndsey also shared many great updates throughout the day. Thank you so much Lyndsey - we would love to have Tilly visit you again!”

“We keep booking Kelly as she is wonderful to both of our dogs. She sends lots of pics, lots of updates and very flexible and accommodating. She takes them for hikes, makes sure they each get play time. The dogs love her.”
“Breanna and Dan were the ultimate dog sitters! Their home is close to beautiful trails, marshes and beaches so it’s like your pup is on a vacation of their own in Tahoe. They took Roo on multiple adventures on her short 24 hour stay and consistently sent me photos and updates. They were very quick to get back to me and coordinating our schedules and booking was super smooth. Roo seemed very at home, comfortable and loved on, I would highly recommend Breanna and Dan as your dog sitters. I will be booking with them for any future Tahoe adventures.”

“Could not have been a better experience! Our puppy dog Tito was treated as family during the course of his stay. Andrea was amazing at letting me know he was doing ok and I think Tito has found a new best friend with Henry! Thank you all so very much !!!”

“I feel lucky that I found Melissa to care for our miniature poodle Cooper. Cooper was never happy in a commercial daycare situation but felt at home at Melissa's house. Melissa truly loves every pup in her care and regularly communicates updates on your dog's behavior. 🐶 Right away we felt at ease after leaving our dog for a few days with Melissa and highly recommend her services!”

“Choi was a fantastic sitter for our puppy! She took him on several walks, kept us well informed and took lots of photos for us. We felt incredibly comfortable throughout his overnight stay under her care!”

“Ashley was so great helping us last minute when we had travel cancellations! Her flexibility was so so appreciated. Leo had a blast and was exhausted for 2 days after returning home! I’d look to Ashley again for sure!”

“Megan made it possible for us to enjoy our vacation, knowing our boys were in good hands. She kept in constant contact with me, and I loved getting pictures and videos. My boys came back happy and relaxed. Highly recommend.”

About: We hit the trails daily and have plenty of safe, secure space to exercise your pup. I'm currently taking on some gig work to supplement my grad school aid as I finish my degree. Time is as precious as the angels by our side, and I’ll treat your pup like my own. For your peace of mind, I maintain an active Wilderness EMT certification, and my trail kit always includes canine-specific tourniquets and first aid. Flexible schedule. We prefer early, especially before a summer crowd, so that there is some safe space for everyone to run off leash and feel the freedom we all deserve. Selectively accepting a few well mannered companions. We'll keep a good eye. I have a couple spare tracking collars if that is a concern for off leash activity.
“Highly recommended!! 🌟 Lauren is amazing! She took such good care of Henry, I wasn't sure if he'd want to come home! 🤣 We loved the daily photo updates of their out & about adventures or their indoor cozy seshs. Henry looked so happy & relaxed. Shout out to Lauren's good friend Charmaine who Henry also had the pleasure of hanging out with! Lauren, you are now on speed dial for pet sitting! 😉 Thank you so much for everything! Happy Happy Holidays & Happy New Year! 🎄🎆 pS... Henry says he misses you both! 🐕”

About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I don't have any pets living with me so your pet would be the only one I would be caring for. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.
“Alexis was so sweet with the dogs. They stayed at her home and she kept them entertained and feeling safe and loved. One of my dogs gets anxious so she gave her toys and played soothing music. It was a great experience to leave them with her over the Holidays!”

“Liliana has taken great care of our dog, Lego, multiple times. She’s reliable, communicative, and always sends updates that give us peace of mind while we’re away. Lego is always happy with her, and we highly recommend Liliana!”

“Anne and her husband went above and beyond while caring for my 2 dogs!! My oldest dog is 15, and he had some stomach issues while I was away (which isn’t out of the norm for him), and they kept me up to date on his condition, and even offered to take him to an emergency vet for me. Luckily he was feeling much better the next day, but they are truly wonderful people who deeply care about the dogs they watch.”

It was a pleasure to leave my 14 year old dog with Brett. This was the first time I left my dog with someone and my dog had anxiety at the beginning. Thanks to Brett my dog overcame the anxiety and on pickup day Brett gave us back our happy dog walking on a leash. I recommend and definitely will book Brett services when we go back to Lake Tahoe.

Teresa was an amazing dog sitter and took great care of our dog, Stacy, while we traveled for work for 3 nights. She was very accommodating with our last minute request and flexible with the drop off and pick up times. She had great communication, administered medicine and took Stacy on multiple walks and hikes. I would not hesitate to recommend or to rebook a dog care service with Teresa.

Raluca was amazing! This is our first time boarding our miniature dachshund, so we were definitely nervous about it beforehand. Raluca sent us constant updates with our pup’s photos/videos, which really helped with my separation anxiety. When it’s time to pick up, Raluca got everything packed and ready to go, and she even offered to moved the cage into our trunk. Our dog soufflé loved her stay and we can’t recommend Raluca enough.

Megan did an amazing job watching our pup Ziti while we were on vacation in Lake Tahoe. He had so much fun with her, her family and their pup. She was great about communicating and sending updates/pictures and even let my son go visit him. I would definitely recommend her and know Ziti will be excited to stay there again on our next visit.

Michele was awesome with our dog, Spike, and we didn’t have any worries while away. We were able to meet her and her dog at the park beforehand too. Spike sometimes has a hard time warming up to people, but he was comfortable with Michele right away! Thanks for everything!

Kristian is a terrific sitter! When I asked how Moo was doing, he texted back right away with detailed updates. He let us know how Moo did on their walks and how well he ate his meals. He sent pictures and videos, which we loved! We would definitely book Kristian again the next time we're in Tahoe.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NV ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
