Hey all! You might know me personally, and if not, I’m so glad my profile caught your eye. I’ve been providing trusted pet and house sitting care in the Lake Tahoe area for many years now, through personal referrals, the veterinary office in tahoe vista, and I’m now expanding my availability here on Rover. I’m well known locally and provide regular care for pets in private homes and condos throughout Tahoe. More commonly I supply my house for your baby’s to board. I don’t except other animals if I’m watching your friend, it’s just myself and your dog/dogs or kitty. I don’t except multiple animals, unless they are all from the same family or friend group. I understand how big a deal it is to leave your pet, your best friend behind, and my goal is always for you to feel completely comfortable and confident while you’re away. I am always free for a face time phone call (anytime, day or night) and I send you pictures throughout the day! We usually do a morning, afternoon and night time shoot lol. The dogs love it, the cats I just have to be hopeful they show up for lol. I love animals so much. To me, pets are family. Your friend will enjoy hanging out with me at possibly your house, Tahoe rental or at my place in zephyr cove, and if preferred I can go to my fully fenced in yard in tahoe city (I do own a home in tahoe city, and can easily work from there) both homes have a lot of access to trails in the back and the lake across the street. I will always have your pet on a leash, unless you want to talk to me and want to allow your pet to swim. If your friend does stay with me they can enjoy the sunshine and if not yet potty trained I’m great with puppy’s, and we have forgiving floors! I have a very pet friendly condo and they can hang out on the couch or bed with me. If you’re ok with it, I’d love to get us outside to enjoy the beach or an easy going walk (depending on owner preferences). I understand the necessity of leashes and prefer to keep my new friends on a leash at all times during our first few visits as we get to know each other. After a while and only if you prefer, we can start the process of letting them get some off leash time while at the beach or on walk. I will adhere to any dietary and allergic needs you may request. I have volunteered many years at the humane society and have been trained by the best at the Truckee location. I enjoy sending you pictures and videos of your pet and our time together and I am always available for a phone call or text chat while you are away. If your friend needs to lodge with us then we have plenty of options. Whether he or she enjoys sleeping on my bed with me or in a pet bed/kennel that you provide. I do love sleeping with the dogs and cats, so I’m fine there. However If your pet needs to be in the kennel then I will promote whatever we are trying to learn together. If your pet has a specific time they like to go potty I will wake up with them, and repeat their normal schedule. Nobody should hire this sitter. My experience was extremely concerning, and I do not feel she acted responsibly while caring for my pets and staying in my home. I told her she could leave the house by 2:00 PM, but when I returned around 3:30 PM, she was still there. When I walked into the house, I startled her awake and found one of my dogs outside without a collar and my other dog inside roaming freely. My younger dog should never be left unattended because he will get into things he shouldn’t. Her belongings were still scattered throughout my house, including medications, McDonald’s trash, and other items. She appeared disoriented and was unable to give me straight answers about what had happened over the weekend. She had previously told me that she had fallen down my stairs and left a large hole in my wall, which I initially believed was an accident. However, while packing her belongings, she fell down the stairs again in front of me. At that point, I became very concerned that she was under the influence. She also accidentally took my car key fob when she left, while leaving three bags of her belongings behind. I contacted her about getting my key back and did not hear from her until around midnight that night. When she returned my key, she confirmed to me that she had been drunk. After she left, I found stains on the bed, food wrappers, approximately 20 Fireball bottles, and an empty bottle of vodka. That evening, one of my dogs began vomiting. I was concerned he had gotten into medication she had left out, but thankfullt, he is okay. The entire situation was extremely upsetting and concerning. I trusted this sitter with my pets and my home, and that trust was completely broken. I would not recommend this sitter to anyone and believe nobody should hire her.
We keep booking Kelly as she is wonderful to both of our dogs. She sends lots of pics, lots of updates and very flexible and accommodating. She takes them for hikes, makes sure they each get play time. The dogs love her.
Kelly has gone and beyond taking care of our 2 dogs. She provided many updates and photos while we were away. She is very patient with our puppy and we came back to well taken care dogs. We came back to a clean house while taking care of our puppy and went above and beyond to take our puppy to the vet when there was an emergency. We are so grateful for her services and will definitely use her services more. Best pet sitter on Rover!
Kelly is caring and patient with all the dogs. It's wonderful that she played with our puppy which got the baby tired out so our puppy was extra relaxed afterwards. We will definitely book her again.

Schedule
Pet care is a my daily life. I work very early mornings and I am also available as late as needed if you want to experience Tahoes Night life. I do not accept multiple bookings, so it will be your dog/dogs/cats and I only. If I am showing up on your calendar, then that means I’m available!

Safety, trust & environment
I am by your pets side the whole time. While in the home we keep doors closed at all times and I like to go out every 45 mins to an hour to go potty, or just get some fresh air. Leashes are required at all times while outside. Fresh clean water bowls and dishes are supplied, as well as plenty of blankets for lounging. If you prefer no walks or outings while on my watch that is just fine, just let me know what your ideal stay for your pet looks like. I am very familiar with senior dogs and can provide gentle outings. I am capable of lifting a 50lb dog into my car, and can help your dog down stairs, as well as carry down to the beach. I take a lot of pictures, you will always know what we are up too!
A typical day
Hiking trails and beach are all close to my home. I enjoy an easy going mellow hike, or something with a bit more pep in our step depending on your pets needs. If requested we can just stay home and go on short potty breaks and enjoy our time together. Please bring your friend’s favorite toys! I love to assist with toys or throw things around, play some tag or gentle game of tug o war. We have many local trails and a favorite of mine is right behind the house, very mellow and paved in parts, but if your friend is up for it, can take us all the way to the beach. I travel with water and approved snacks at all times, but never push your friends limits.
