“Kristin and Jeff took such wonderful care of our dog. It made our vacation stress-free and so much more enjoyable knowing she was in good hands. She loved their dogs and came home so happy! I cannot thank them enough. Such great people!”

“It was very easy to book with Gabriel the day prior to my short trip to Tahoe. He was very responsive and flexible with both pick up and drop off. My 7 mo old puppy stayed for one night. I would book again if I do another quick trip to Tahoe.”

“LISA WAS AMAZING AND MY RUBI TUESDAY RECIEVED THE BEST CARE EVER. CONTACT WAS MADE CONSTANTLY ALONG WITH PICTURES. WOULD RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE LOOKING AT LEAVING YOUR PUP FOR A BIT. SHE TRATS YOUR PET LIKE FAMILY!!!”

“Tianyu was amazing!!! She took our last minute request and really helped us out! Took great care of our dog, took him to walk and sent us pictures and updates along the way. Thank you so much for being so nice!”

“I've never felt so comfortable leaving my dog's in someone's care than I did with Susan and her family. Absolutely top notch people and excellent communicators. My oldest dog had a nagging injury and needed to have his activity limited and I returned home from my vacation to his improved health. My only fear is that as travel opens up again Susan will be unavailable next time I need her! Thank you again!”

“Winnie loves to stay with Aaron, Nicole and the kids. They take him out and take great care of him. We travel much more comfortably knowing Winnie is being loved and cared for by people who pay attention to detail and respect whatever rules we may have for Winnie. He comes back from being with them exhausted and happy and most importantly safe. We’ll continue to work with them as long as they’re providing the service! Thank you guys :)”

“Sadie is an incredible dog sitter. She has cared for our dog for 10 days while we were abroad. It was his first time to stay with someone outside of his family. I was very nervous upfront how he would do with the situation, but he was so happy at her house and she kept him busy with walks as well. I would ask her anytime in the future should we need a dog sitter for stay overs or dog walking again. I highly recommend her and I am very grateful. She is reliable, has a wonderful approach to her work, and is just very kind,m and helpful even on short notice changes. Sadie goes above and beyond for the dogs and their owners.”

“Brett was awesome with my dog Scout. He was a great communicator and flexible with drop off time. Scout had a great time hanging with Brett at home watching sports and even went on two different hikes in the area. Scout came home exhausted and happy. Would definitely use Brett again !!”

“Chelsea was a superb dog hostess. She was responsive throughout the booking and our entire weekend stay and provided timely updates and lots of cute photos all weekend. Our senior dachshund was well cared for and came home calm and relaxed. I will definitely use her services again and if you have a special needs, older dog this may be the perfect home for your next boarding. Highly recommended! We'll be back.”

“Kelley always sends me pictures of my dog during the stay, and regularly takes my dog for a walk when the weather is good. I always have Kelly sit my dog when I'm out.”

“Kathryn's home is ideal for a dog. Fenced yard front and back and doggy door for their pleasure. She sent photos and updates and spent time with Beau. I felt he was well cared for.”

“My Cherry is super shy and has some special requirements and Sarah was so accommodating! She treated her as part of the family. Also, she is very quick to respond to all messages :). I definitely recommend having your pup stay with Sarah and will be repeat customer!”

“Tim was wonderful. He watched my pup for four nights and sent tons of photos each day. It was so calming to know she was well taken care of while I was out of town. Thanks Tim!”

“Ronnie and his little pups are wonderful! He’s very caring and gentle with my blind senior dog. My young puppy loved playing with his dogs. My boys had a great time and will be back again.”

“We were visiting Tahoe and needed a sitter last minute for our small Velcro dog for a day. Laura was amazing, our dog promptly claimed her lap as his place of leisure. She took our fur baby on multiple walks and kept us updated throughout the day with pictures and texts. I highly recommend her, she has a beautiful house, a lovely family and an adorably gentle dog.”

“Could not have been a better experience! Our puppy dog Tito was treated as family during the course of his stay. Andrea was amazing at letting me know he was doing ok and I think Tito has found a new best friend with Henry! Thank you all so very much !!!”

“Ivy was a hit! She provided exceptional communication and sent daily updates with photos, taking the stress off of leaving our pet while out of town. Our cat is initially timid but was completely relaxed and happy, roaming around when we picked her up. Good job - thank you!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Carson City
Such a sweet couple who genuinely love dogs. They were really quick to respond and gracious to accommodate my last minute need to board both of my dogs. I was sent photos of my dogs each day and informed on how they were doing. My dogs were completely comfortable. I would use them again.
Have used these sitters twice so far, to watch our English Spaniel while we visited Lake Tahoe (at a place where pets aren't permitted), dropping her off going in, and picking her up on the way out, with excellent results. Friendly folks who clearly love dogs, and our's loves it there. They are near the Spooner Lake highway and very convenient for drop off and pick up while visiting the lake. We intend to use them again next time we are in the area.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NV ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
