“My three dogs were well taken care of if not spoiled during their week stay. My blind Chiweenie puppy fell in love with Lauren! The feeling was mutual. You cannot ask for more than that! I would recommend boarding or sitting your dog(s) with Lauren. ❤️❤️❤️”

“Viana is so sweet and she treated my girls like her own. She was so communicative with me and sent me photos the whole time! I will definitely be rebooking next time I am away! Thank you so much Viana!”

“Alycia again was a wonderful sitter for Bear who went above and beyond to help us out! We had a few extra needs this trip and she was so sweet about it. Bear got lots of cuddles and love. Shes the best!”

“Aaron was great! He took Ollie for the first time while we were traveling through Reno for a concert. He was kind and had a nice home and nice area for Ollie to hang out and plenty of trails in the area for him to walk! Thanks!”

“Kathryn is amazing! The best person Teddy could of had! She really cares about dogs 🐕 Teddy is a very happy little guy, and we will definitely be back to have Kathryn care for him again. Her yard is fenced and perfect for my little boy. Thank you!”

I’m currently not working, just a stay at home mom who is trying to make some extra income. My son goes to school M-F so all I have to do is pick ups & drops off other than that I am home. I have a fenced yard and 2 friendly dogs that love other animals. I do have a cat that always keeps to herself. My animals are very easy going.

“I was referred to Shawna by one of my close family members. Shawna is the best caring dog sitter in Reno! My dog loved the attention and safety she gave to her. I wouldn't take my dog any where else. ”
“Shannon and David were a delight to work with; prompt with availability, clear and responsive in communication, and so full of care and attention when watching Willa. For this past trip, I (the primary owner) was out of service and needed to connect Shannon and David with my partner. They were willing to accommodate this secondary contact. They also went above and beyond in picking Willa up from her previous sitter. All of the communication leading up to the trip made me feel like Willa would be in conscientious care and that proved true. Willa was excited to see me when I picked her up, but she also seemed at home and at ease. I highly recommend Shannon and David!”

“Melisa is 5 Star!! Our Chihuahua Chico stayed with Melisa and her sweet family while we attended TTITD and he was so very well cared for and loved! Melisa had excellent communication, sent me updates and photos/videos and was also incredibly flexible with scheduling since the u predictable weather forced some changes in our times. I would most highly recommend Melisa and will be contacting her again for next year. Thank you Melisa!💖”

“Nina was awesome! My husband and I live out of the area but were visiting Reno and our hotel had a no pet policy, so we thought we would try someone close to where we were staying. I saw Nina’s profile and the positive reviews and determined it could be a good fit after we spoke on the phone. Nina was very professional and responsive throughout the entire duration leading up to our booking, and stayed in contact throughout their stay, providing lots of updates and pictures (which we loved!). It put our minds at ease seeing how happy and relaxed our boys appeared in the pictures. I was a little worried my boys might give her a little trouble because for some reason they aren’t huge fan of men, and I knew they would be around a guy but Scott is clearly a gem because my boys were cuddling up to him and one of them was following him around their house and wanting all his attention! Blew my mind a little (in a great way!) lol. When we went to pick them up they were calm, relaxed, and happy and fell fast asleep on the car ride home with zero PTSD lol. While I’m not in Nina’s area, I will absolutely see if she is available again next time we are out there.”

“Sussy and her family, and dogs where wonderful. Not only did this family take excellent care of Charlie, they felling love with him which tells me a lot about a family. As for Charlie, the pictures that were sent, he had lots of fun and loved being were he was. Happy and relaxed like he belonged there! So, yes, I highly recommend Sussy, but not when I need her!! LOL!”

“Elisabeth and her family took great care of my pup. She communicated effectively and sent updates and photos of him playing and getting loves. We would definitely recommend her and would have my him stay with them again in the future.”

“We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Laura! From the moment we dropped our dog off, we felt completely at ease knowing he was in caring and capable hands. When we picked him up, it was clear how happy and well cared for he had been—his tail was wagging, he was calm, and honestly, he seemed like he had just returned from his own little vacation! It’s such a relief to find someone who genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. Thank you, Laura, for taking such great care of our pup. We’ll definitely be booking with you again!”

“Megan was very responsive and took good care of Willow. She kept us posted on Willow’s whereabouts and sent us pictures. It’s reassuring to know our baby is in good hands. I would highly recommend Megan to take care of your pets when you are away. Thanks Megan!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sun Valley
Whitney was wonderful! She took Pogi on walks and made sure he was comfortable in her home. He likes to sleep on the bed and curl up to a warm body at night and Whitney welcomed him to do so. We missed our return flight home and had to book anything we could to get back. Whitney was very accommodating and understanding. She didn’t add additional stress for us for picking Pogi up a little later than scheduled.

My Beagle, Cliff, stayed with Jessenia for 5 days. Considering that he's never been away from us for that long and has separation anxiety, I think he was in a suprisingly good mood when we picked him up. I also liked that he got to hang out with 3 young Golden Retrievers, which may have helped with his nerves. Jessenia's boyfriend was available to take care of Cliff any time she had to work, so he was always supervised. Overall, I'm very satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to board Cliff with them again.

We’re so grateful to have found Mariah to pet sit our cat and dog! She was super responsive and clearly cares about animals—she was attentive to our pets’ specific dietary needs and made sure to check in about anything that seemed off. She went out of her way to make our dog scrambled eggs (her favorite food) and make sure they were both comfy during their stay. She communicated well throughout the stay and we appreciated her attention to detail. She kept in touch anytime something seemed a little off or out of the ordinary, just to make sure our pets were doing well and everything was on track. We felt our pets were in caring and capable hands while we were away. Thanks again Mariah!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NV ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
