About: I’ve taken care of my own dogs and also house sat back in California. My 2 sons are so gentle with animals and loves them just as much as me. I’m currently not working, just a stay at home mom who is trying to make some extra income. My son goes to school M-F so all I have to do is pick ups & drops off other than that I am home. I have a fenced yard and 2 friendly dogs that love other animals. I do have a cat that always keeps to herself. My animals are very easy going.

“Shawna is kind. Her home is safe. The dogs in her care are well-looked after. It was so nice to meet her & her husband Steven. Very strong recommendation. * * * * * ++”

“Shannon and David are always so great with Rambo, gives many updates, and he always is so happy with them! Thankful to have found them, and I know Rambo loves them ☺️”

“I’ll be honest, Chelsea didn’t have a ton of reviews when I first reached out, so I was a little hesitant at first, especially since our previous dog sitter moved away and Blue is truly our baby. I’m so grateful I decided to take a chance because Chelsea was absolutely wonderful. From the beginning, she was kind, communicative, and very flexible, which immediately made me feel at ease. Throughout our week-long vacation, she sent regular updates and photos that meant so much to me and made it easy to relax knowing Blue was happy and well cared for. He settled in so naturally that it felt like he was staying with family, not just a sitter. Coming home to a happy, calm dog confirmed everything. It was clear she treated him with so much love and attention. Chelsea is someone who genuinely cares about animals and takes great pride in what she does. I felt incredibly safe leaving Blue in her care and would not hesitate to book with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter they can trust and feel confident with.”

“Megan took very good care of Amber. I got updates and photos regularly. I completely trusted leaving Amber with Megan and her family. I had a wonderful feeling about them as soon as we met. I could tell that Amber had fun staying with them and I will definitely use Megan for future times when I’m on vacation.”

“Sussy was fantastic with my two littles. I was visiting Reno so we didn't have time for meet and greet beforehand. However, we were able to visit a bit at the drop off. Both of my babies slept all the way back home. I will definitely use Sussy again when visiting.”

“Oh my goodness BOOK KELSEY!!! Truly she is someone who goes above and beyond to make sure your babies are beyond loved and taken care of. She sent us constant updates and pictures & went out of her way to help our peace of mind when I was getting worried about my cats. Not to mention she’s just sweet as pie. I’m so thankful we found her !!!”

“I appreciate how good of care Wendy had in taking care of our pup! She sent me updates daily while I was gone and our pup had a great time. I would recommend Wendy to watch you dog!”

About: I grew up on a small ranch, and have years of experience caring for, and training animals of all kinds. I especially love dogs..even the naughty ones and messy puppies too. I am great at getting tricky pill takers to take their meds and have a soft spot for the old guys. High energy? Oddly specific? I gotchu! I am skilled at pet first aid too. I have lots of time to play with your pups! I am down for car rides, walks, playing ball, etc. I am available most days before noon and mon, wed, thurs, all day. I'm also available weekends and holidays for walks and pet/housesitting. I prefer to dog walk or care for pets in your home, but lizards, rabbits and other small pets can come to mine for a short stay (1 -2wks or less). I have four pups of my own, so we have a full house! I have 2 wonderful teenagers who also love animals..in fact, they're who encouraged me to start dog walking!

“Karly and Emily were wonderful! My pup came home as happy as he was when I dropped him off. They are both very friendly, and professional. I am planning to have them dog sit for me in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good home for your pup to stay at.”

“Jennifer was amazing! She took such great care of our dog and he was so comfortable with her. She sent us pictures every day, and took him for walks and played with him like he was her own. I would definitely recommend using Jennifer. She is the best and I will certainly use her again.”

“Nina was awesome! My husband and I live out of the area but were visiting Reno and our hotel had a no pet policy, so we thought we would try someone close to where we were staying. I saw Nina’s profile and the positive reviews and determined it could be a good fit after we spoke on the phone. Nina was very professional and responsive throughout the entire duration leading up to our booking, and stayed in contact throughout their stay, providing lots of updates and pictures (which we loved!). It put our minds at ease seeing how happy and relaxed our boys appeared in the pictures. I was a little worried my boys might give her a little trouble because for some reason they aren’t huge fan of men, and I knew they would be around a guy but Scott is clearly a gem because my boys were cuddling up to him and one of them was following him around their house and wanting all his attention! Blew my mind a little (in a great way!) lol. When we went to pick them up they were calm, relaxed, and happy and fell fast asleep on the car ride home with zero PTSD lol. While I’m not in Nina’s area, I will absolutely see if she is available again next time we are out there.”

“Katherine was phenomenal, sending daily updates with pictures and making sure to stay in touch with us on how they were doing. She certainly was caring and reassuring, and the pups enjoyed their time with her, which was a great thing to see. They both missed her as we picked them up and took off. Definitely will be returning.”

“Tim was an excellent with Luna. I went on vacation for 12 days and was very responsive when it came to updates and pictures. Luna looked like she had a great time with all of the outdoor adventures Tim took her on. Most definitely a reliable dog sitter.”

“Millie had another great stay with Destiny! We received daily updates with photos and videos and Destiny was always easy to communicate with. She was super accommodating with an early drop off time due to our early flight departure and helped us feel at ease through our whole trip :)”

“Roseana is super easygoing and reliable. Her laidback nature made the whole process smooth, and my old l doggie was happy and relaxed. Would definitely book again!”

“What an amazingly warm and caring team. They took care of Ollie as if he was their own and sent photos and updates daily. I never hesitate reaching out to them and Ollie always comes back happy and healthy and wanting to stay longer. Highly recommend for any pup needs!”

“Melisa was so wonderful to my little buddy! He got surgery right before and her and her family made sure he had his medication on time and held true to his special diet requirements. They embraced and loved my pup so well that I am booking her again, in advance, for another trip I have planned. Thank you again Melisa for all your help and care for my pup and all the pictures throughout his stay!”
“Kevin was an excellent dog sitter for our Tiko. He sent more pictures and messages than anyone I have had in Rover. He kept Tiko for 7 days. I had no doubts that we had chosen well by choosing Kevin. He's wonderful and I do not hesitate to highly recommend him to anyone/everyone looking for a dog sitter.”

Whitney was wonderful! She took Pogi on walks and made sure he was comfortable in her home. He likes to sleep on the bed and curl up to a warm body at night and Whitney welcomed him to do so. We missed our return flight home and had to book anything we could to get back. Whitney was very accommodating and understanding. She didn’t add additional stress for us for picking Pogi up a little later than scheduled.

My Beagle, Cliff, stayed with Jessenia for 5 days. Considering that he's never been away from us for that long and has separation anxiety, I think he was in a suprisingly good mood when we picked him up. I also liked that he got to hang out with 3 young Golden Retrievers, which may have helped with his nerves. Jessenia's boyfriend was available to take care of Cliff any time she had to work, so he was always supervised. Overall, I'm very satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to board Cliff with them again.

We’re so grateful to have found Mariah to pet sit our cat and dog! She was super responsive and clearly cares about animals—she was attentive to our pets’ specific dietary needs and made sure to check in about anything that seemed off. She went out of her way to make our dog scrambled eggs (her favorite food) and make sure they were both comfy during their stay. She communicated well throughout the stay and we appreciated her attention to detail. She kept in touch anytime something seemed a little off or out of the ordinary, just to make sure our pets were doing well and everything was on track. We felt our pets were in caring and capable hands while we were away. Thanks again Mariah!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NV ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
