“Appreciate that Michael always shares an update with pictures! We have a very specific food regiment our girl must follow and he’s done really well. No setbacks in his care.”

About: My childhood was surrounded by dogs. When I was 12, I had to completely take care of 4 pit bulls, a Dotson, a mixed breed medium sized dog, and 3 cats. I have watched a few friends and family's pets over the years. Before I moved here, I actually helped my cousin take care of his senior husky with low energy that needed shots for a medical condition and a 2 year old German shepherd with all the energy in the world. My foster mom also bred pugs for a living, and have had to help the momma pug give birth while my foster parents were gone. I also have a 4 year old female Black Mouth Cur named Ava, that I have had since 6 months old, and a 2 year old male pitbull terrier rescue named Bosco, that I have had for a year and counting. He is full of fear and needs a lot of patience to work through it, but after 5 months of touch and go work, he now knows what play is and has his own toys! He also is scared to eat or seems to not know what his feeding bowl is, but after different ways to show that feeding time is okay, he is slowly gaining the weight he should be at! Treats were his sweet spot for knowing it is a safe place, and my sweet Ava sped the process for getting him comfortable in his new home and now commandeers my clothing to sleep with in his bed. Due to Bosco being a rescue and has become very protective is why I can't offer in home sitting in my home but am open to dog sitting at client's homes. I am currently a new stay at home mom. I take care of my two boys and my two fur babies. I am more than ready to help others with their fur babies. Due to behavior of one of my dogs, I would not be able to comfortably care for your fur babies in my own home, but I will do the utmost care for your fur babies in your home! Give me all the rules you need followed; Outside during certain times, feeding strategies, don't sit in a certain spot or area in the home. Nothing is too much to handle! I have even taken care of dogs with potty issues and needed baths for their health care and hygiene of your home.

About: Apart from my own mini aussie, Hobbs, I have cared for friends and families pets ranging from puppies to equine. My own dog is going on 13 this year meaning I am no stranger to administering medication or following special care instructions. I also have my own flock of chickens (2 years old) that I’ve raised from a day old. I’ve had to treat them medically numerous times making avian care well known to me. In addition, I’ve grown up around and involved in care for horses and other livestock (goats, sheep). I’m currently going to school at UNR but classes are over at 3pm! Late afternoons and nights work great. The weekends I can accommodate virtually any time and overnights. I am working a part time job, so my fluctuating schedule will be reflected in my availability. While I don’t currently offer services in my own home, I have my own vehicle large enough for big puppies in case of emergency! Otherwise I will abide by any and all house rules and instructions :)
“did a great job with my pets, very friendly and asks lots of questions during the meet and greet. only thing to be aware of if your animal is on a tight schedule is that she was late to the visits.”

About: I absolutely love animals! Being a college student, it is hard to get that time with animals so I would absolutely love to care for yours! I have had dogs and been around dogs all my life. I also have cared for cats on and off as well. I genuinely will care for the well-being of your pet and will do my absolute best to meet their needs. I currently have a job and am a college student but am able to stop in between classes, and even before/after work. I would enjoy the company during my breaks! I will ensure the pets have food and water when needed, dogs will be walked at least once in my care, I will make sure specific needs are met (ie. if pets have to be fed separately, medication, etc), and they will get lots of loves!

“Miranda did two drop visits for me this week for my dog Stella. She came by, and let her outside, and played with her for a bit. Exactly what Stella needs to break up her long days when I have to be at work for extended length of time. I really appreciate it.”

“Khine was such an amazing sitter! She went above and beyond taking care of all my kitties. They are usually shy but befriended her very quickly! Khine kept me updated and sent me lots of photos which I really appreciate. She was also very caring of my home! I highly recommend her and will be requesting her again!”

“Sierra was absolutely amazing! Sierra communicated clearly and kept me updated throughout with messages and photos of my cat. It was such a comfort to know my pet was in good hands. I'll definitely be booking Sierra again for future cat-sitting”

“Joan has taken care of my cats several times. Each time I come home, my cats look great, healthy, and comfortable. They know, and I know, Joan loves animals and adapts to the needs and personalities of them individually.”

About: Hello! My name is Sarah and my husband and I live in Reno, Nevada. We're entrepreneurs with a flexible schedule and love taking care of dogs. I had a black lab for 15 years and have watched many dogs over the years, including internationally with Trusted Housesitters, where I am background-checked and reviewed. I'm comfortable walking dogs of all sizes. We work from home and are flexible most days! Our weeks tend to vary, but we are great at communicating with the pet parent to find times that work for everyone. We have a three-story townhome next to the Wildcreek Golf Course and Melody Lane Park. We have two patios at our house for outside time, and take regular walks. Lots of space for roaming.

“I couldn’t recommend Hallie enough! We hired her to do drop-in visits for our cat while we were out of town, and she and her kids took great care of him. Will definitely be booking her again!”

About: I have 10 years of experience caring for dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, and personalities. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, play with, and care for their pets. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone who is attentive, dependable, and genuinely loving. I will treat your pet like my own while keeping you updated so you can feel comfortable while you are away. As a college student, my schedule offers plenty of flexibility for pet care throughout the week. I can plan walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays around my classes, and I will always communicate clearly about my availability. I carefully follow each pet parent’s instructions and maintain the routines their pet already knows. I prioritize secure doors, safe walks, proper feeding, clean spaces, and plenty of attentive playtime and affection. I will also provide regular photo updates so you know your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

I have some training and work well with all types of dogs.
“Amazing, dog sat for me last minute and her attention to detail was very comforting. I felt very safe, leaving my dog with her and I’m very grateful that she was able to take care of Indy. If needed I will definitely hire her again. Thanks Shelby”

About: I have owned dogs all of my life and have cared for and taught them all the basic pet commands. I have also worked at a doggy daycare for multiple months and have been a pet parent favorite Canine Coach I’m currently a college student that has class Monday through Friday mostly in the morning with evening classes on Friday. I am available all weekends for home/pet sitting. I am able to do overnight stays on weekends as long as I can go to class in the morning. In my own home I have a Dalmatian where I take him out hourly with 2 walks and if my schedule permits a car ride to the dog park. I always check my dogs water bowls and feed him two times a day with proper spacing of eating and exercise to ensure no bloating or stomach issues. I have also taught him to use the correct restroom spot in the backyard
About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have always considered them part of the family. I grew up with dogs, mostly larger breeds, including my most recent dog who is around 120 pounds. I’ve also had cats my whole life and currently have four, along with experience caring for birds, lizards, and other animals. Most of my pets have been rescues or animals that needed extra patience and care. My dog Delta was very nervous and fearful when we adopted her from the pound, and my dog Boone had been abused and was initially very afraid of men. These experiences taught me how important it is to be patient, respect an animal’s boundaries, and build trust at their own pace. I’m currently in college and away from my own pets, so pet sitting is a great way for me to get my animal fix while giving your pets the same love, attention, and care I give my own. I’m comfortable with animals of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels! I’m currently a college student who also works part-time, so my schedule has plenty of flexibility. I’m able to work with different schedules and will do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine and needs. I love having the opportunity to spend my free time with animals, and I’m happy to give your furry family member plenty of attention, playtime, and care while you’re away! I’m happy to care for your pets in the comfort of their own home, where they can stay in a familiar environment and keep their normal routine. I know being away from their people can be stressful, so I’ll do my best to make things feel as normal and comfortable as possible. I can follow your pet’s usual feeding, walking, playtime, medication, and bedtime routines, while also giving them plenty of attention and companionship. I’ll make sure they’re safe, comfortable, and cared for just like I would want my own pets to be.

★★★★★ I couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! Eve was incredibly attentive, reliable, and caring with my cats. She was always on time, and her updates were very detailed, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. As someone who is new to having cats, I really appreciated how observant she was and how she noticed and understood things about their care that I wouldn’t have thought of myself. It was clear that she genuinely cared about their well-being and wasn’t just checking in on them. She went above and beyond in ways that made me feel completely comfortable knowing my cats were in good hands. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and dependable to care for their pets.

This was the second time Devon fed and checked on my cats, and she continues to be absolutely wonderful. It is such a relief to be away knowing everything is handled perfectly. She is incredibly reliable, communicative, and attentive to all of my cat's needs. I can highly recommend Devon to anyone looking for a trustworthy, top-tier sitter—she’s fantastic!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
