“Cameo continues to be an amazing cat sitter for our Kobe! We trust her so much, and my cat loves and adores her, as we appreciate her very much too. Being in a city that we are unfamiliar with, it’s nice and relieving to know that we have had someone we can trust and depend on.”

“Madeline was an amazing cat sitter for Fleur! She was so communicative and took lots of pictures. I had no worries that my baby was in the best of hands and could relax on my trip. Thank you, Madeline! We’ll definitively call you again to hang with Miss Fleur :)”

“This was my first time using River pot even having a total stranger watch after my dog, other than boarding him. Mariana stayed in communication with me the whole time and took very good care of my dog. Would definitely use again.”

About: When I was 11 years old, I walked around my neighborhood, putting my "business cards" in mailboxes to advertise that I wanted to walk and watch the neighborhood dogs. I have loved animals my entire life I just moved home from college and am looking for some part-time work. I've always loved animals and hope to provide owners with security when their pets are with me I love my pets deeply and believe that when taking care of other's pets, they are my pets and my family members. I want owners to feel secure when their pets are with me.
“Chase was amazing! She helped me out in a last-minute emergency and took such great care of my dog for a few days. Super reliable, caring, and my pup loved her right away. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years and have grown up with dogs my whole life, including my family’s chocolate Labrador who is now 13. I’ve also helped care for family and friends’ dogs of different sizes and personalities, from Labs to smaller breeds like Yorkies and mini poodles. I love taking dogs on walks, playing with them, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m comfortable with puppies for walks/playtime (as long as they’re potty trained for overnight stays), anxious dogs who may need extra patience, and keeping owners updated with photos and communication along the way. I have a very flexible schedule this summer and am available for walks, drop-ins, house sitting, and overnight care. I do have a summer class three days a week during June, but outside of that I have plenty of availability and can often accommodate last-minute requests when my schedule allows. I also have reliable transportation, so getting to your home on time is never a problem. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a house with a fenced yard, which gives dogs a safe outdoor space for supervised play and potty breaks. Because I share the home with roommates, I do prefer pets stay off furniture, but they’ll still get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I’m not a good fit for aggressive dogs, but I’m happy caring for friendly dogs who may need patience, structure, and lots of love. I’m naturally very responsible, communicative, and respectful in other people’s homes, and I know how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet.
About: Grew up having a dog (or 2 at times…as well as bunnies…and some other reptiles!). I currently live in an accommodation where I am not able to have a pet and I have become to miss animals more and more! There is no such thing as a bad animal, only a poorly trained one, and I treat them all with love and care. I’m available every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday all day (and night)! My schedule can be as free as needed on those days and I am open to spending lots of time with your pets to make sure they get the best care possible! I am very careful and thoughtful around pets and other people’s property. I will treat your belongings and animals with the utmost respect and care.
About: If your pet has lots of energy, I’d love to help them get exercise. I love walking dogs and playing with cats. I grew up with dogs (mostly German Shepherds), but sadly do not currently have a pet of my own. I work remotely, so I can spend all day with your pets. I can also take breaks to play with your pets and walk your dog(s). I’m flexible and happy to follow detailed instructions. I’ll send you pictures of your pet(s) daily. I know how hard it can be to be away from them!

About: I have a genuine love for dogs and the outdoors, and I enjoy combining the two whenever I can. Whether it’s going for walks, spending time at the park, or just being outside, I find it even more rewarding with a dog by my side. I’ve been dog and cat sitting for friends and colleagues for years, gaining experience with different personalities and routines. I take pride in making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I’m currently between careers and looking for the right long-term opportunity, which means I have several hours each day to dedicate to caring for your pets. Whether you need daily walks, drop-in visits, feeding, companionship, or help while you're away, I provide reliable, attentive care tailored to your pet’s needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your animals, and I take that responsibility seriously. I have flexible availability, I will practice consistent communication, and I will always use a calm and patient approach with your pets. Feel free to reach out to discuss your pet’s routine and how I can help.
About: I am a passionate dog walker committed to delivering tailored walks, fostering joy and exercise for furry companions while prioritizing their safety and happiness. I have been walking dogs for at least 10 years, starting in college over my summer breaks and since then I have watched/walked dogs on and off throughout my graduate program. I am trustworthy, and reliable, and am dedicated to treating your fur baby/babies as my own. I am a new Physical Therapist just trying to pay off her loans ASAP! I am also an avid dog-lover without a dog of my own so I am looking for a fun and fluffy friend to fulfill these needs! My schedule of availability is currently subjected to mornings and evenings at this time. I will care for your pets as you see fit and promise to keep your animals safe in my care. I also love to send pictures to the owner in order to keep them updated on their baby's whereabouts and activities.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Verdi. On Rover:
- 99% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
