“Alex was an absolute lifesaver when she helped me out last minute with watching my dog, Shadow! She was amazing from start to finish. Super flexible about meeting up, really listened to what I was looking for, and went above and beyond spending extra time playing with Shadow and giving him lots of love. She even gave some extra love to our cats.Shadow absolutely loved making a new friend, and I couldn’t be happier that I found Alex. I’ll 100% be using her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter.”

“Sherina did an amazing job with my fur babies. I have a disabled dog who needs diapers changed and she was able to assist him. Definitely will be using Sherina again! ❤️”

About: I absolutely love animals! Being a college student, it is hard to get that time with animals so I would absolutely love to care for yours! I have had dogs and been around dogs all my life. I also have cared for cats on and off as well. I genuinely will care for the well-being of your pet and will do my absolute best to meet their needs. I currently have a job and am a college student but am able to stop in between classes, and even before/after work. I would enjoy the company during my breaks! I will ensure the pets have food and water when needed, dogs will be walked at least once in my care, I will make sure specific needs are met (ie. if pets have to be fed separately, medication, etc), and they will get lots of loves!
“did a great job with my pets, very friendly and asks lots of questions during the meet and greet. only thing to be aware of if your animal is on a tight schedule is that she was late to the visits.”

“Michael was amazing caring for Chloe and also being respectful of the space. He spent time with Chloe and played, provided food and loads of love. I would definitely get his care again for Chloe.”

About: My childhood was surrounded by dogs. When I was 12, I had to completely take care of 4 pit bulls, a Dotson, a mixed breed medium sized dog, and 3 cats. I have watched a few friends and family's pets over the years. Before I moved here, I actually helped my cousin take care of his senior husky with low energy that needed shots for a medical condition and a 2 year old German shepherd with all the energy in the world. My foster mom also bred pugs for a living, and have had to help the momma pug give birth while my foster parents were gone. I also have a 4 year old female Black Mouth Cur named Ava, that I have had since 6 months old, and a 2 year old male pitbull terrier rescue named Bosco, that I have had for a year and counting. He is full of fear and needs a lot of patience to work through it, but after 5 months of touch and go work, he now knows what play is and has his own toys! He also is scared to eat or seems to not know what his feeding bowl is, but after different ways to show that feeding time is okay, he is slowly gaining the weight he should be at! Treats were his sweet spot for knowing it is a safe place, and my sweet Ava sped the process for getting him comfortable in his new home and now commandeers my clothing to sleep with in his bed. Due to Bosco being a rescue and has become very protective is why I can't offer in home sitting in my home but am open to dog sitting at client's homes. I am currently a new stay at home mom. I take care of my two boys and my two fur babies. I am more than ready to help others with their fur babies. Due to behavior of one of my dogs, I would not be able to comfortably care for your fur babies in my own home, but I will do the utmost care for your fur babies in your home! Give me all the rules you need followed; Outside during certain times, feeding strategies, don't sit in a certain spot or area in the home. Nothing is too much to handle! I have even taken care of dogs with potty issues and needed baths for their health care and hygiene of your home.
About: My sister relied on me to house sit and watch her dogs for a couple of weeks every summer when I was in middle and high school. I grew up with dogs and was responsible for taking them on walks, feeding them, brushing them, bathing them, and playing with them. I am between jobs so I am quite flexible right now. I am looking to get a full-time position at which point I will update my schedule here. My cats are feral rescues so I cannot afford to bring any other animals into my home, but I am very cautious while going on walks to be very aware of other dogs (especially off leash), people driving too fast in residential areas, and making sure to bring adequate water for walks on warm days.

“Natalie did a wonderful job with my shy kitties! She followed all directions and even went above and beyond by vacuuming up the litter they kicked out of the litter box. My four cats were all happy when we got back. I would definitely book her again!”

“Kate is the best! The dogs loved her and she went the extra mile to get the pups to the park for exercise. When we met Kate we felt a connection. We loved how calm and caring she is. We had Kate watch our pups for several days recently and we really felt like she took care of all of us - attentive to the feeding schedule and routines. She sent messages and photos along the way so we would know how things were going and could witness everyone having fun & hanging out. We would recommend Kate highly. She is kind, caring and conscientious and loves to stay active with the pups. We don't take ours hiking (which she likes to do), but she did take them to the dog park, and then when the weather turned wet and the park was too muddy, she played with them at our house in the yard, and hung out with them. The pups were relaxed, at ease and perfectly healthy and happy with her. We would welcome Kate back any time and will certainly call her if we need help in the future.”
“Khine was such an amazing sitter! She went above and beyond taking care of all my kitties. They are usually shy but befriended her very quickly! Khine kept me updated and sent me lots of photos which I really appreciate. She was also very caring of my home! I highly recommend her and will be requesting her again!”

About: I absolutely love dogs and have been around them my entire life! I currently have two Great Pyrenees and a terrier of my own, and I’ve also had Belgian Malinois and Boxers in the past, so I’m very comfortable with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and energy levels. I recently graduated from UNR with my Master’s in Finance and am currently job searching, so I’m looking for a flexible way to earn some extra money on the side while doing something I genuinely enjoy—spending time with dogs! My schedule is currently very flexible! Aside from job searching, my only occasional commitments are weekend trips to visit my boyfriend, so I have plenty of availability throughout the week and most weekends. I’m happy to work with your schedule and your dog’s routine! I treat my pets like family and am very attentive to their individual needs, routines, and personalities. I have hands-on experience caring for dogs through recovery, including rehabilitating my female dog after her spay and helping another of my dogs recover from knee surgery after a tear. I’ve also owned and cared for a Belgian Malinois, which gave me experience with a highly intelligent, energetic, and demanding breed. Over the years, I’ve dealt with everything from medications and post-surgery care to injuries, behavioral needs, and different activity levels, so I’m very comfortable providing patient, responsible, and attentive care.

We have a three-story townhome next to the Wildcreek Golf Course and Melody Lane Park. We have two patios at our house for outside time, and take regular walks. Lots of space for roaming.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sparks
Shelly is amazing, really did an Amazing job. She did everything we asked of her and was truly concerned for our animals. We were worried about leaving our 17 yr old senior dog, but she took extra care. She sent pictures of our babies and checked in everyday with updates. This was our first time using a sitter, and it went perfectly.

Sidney was excellent. She asked very intelligent questions about the meds for it senior cat, the kennel setup, water etc. she was very responsive to our questions before starting, and the cats were back to their usual hijinks with in minutes of us returning home. It was clearly much less stress on our senior cat. A better overall experience than the boarding house we've previously used. I would highly recommend Sidney and will be booking her again for our next trip in a few months.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
