Definitely recommend Jackson! He watched our new puppy Tom Tom and went above and beyond, cleaned up after him, sent tons of photos throughout the stay, and was easy to reach the whole time.

About: I am an elementary school teacher in summer break and an animal lover! I have had small dogs all the way up to 110 bull mastiffs. I love elderly pets and bouncy youngsters. I have reptile and fish and chicken experience. Also, abilities to take care of plant pets as well! I have had animals my entire life and have a home full of furry friends today! I’m currently on summer break so my availability is wide open. I’m an early bird who can get those walks in before the heat hits. I know animals love a schedule and I can help to keep the consistency! I have a fenced in yard with friendly dogs who love to play. I am a teacher with the district who gets yearly background checks and reliable transportation

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats since I was young, especially helping with my sister’s and friends pets over the years. I’m very comfortable feeding, walking, playing, and making sure pets feel safe and cared for. I’m patient, reliable, and treat every pet like they’re my own. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your animals, and I always make sure they get attention, love, and proper care. Cameo took such great care of our pets while I was in the hospital getting surgery. She was easy to communicate with, trustworthy and timely. We felt like she truly cared for our pets which allowed me to focus on healing knowing that they were being taken care of by Cameo. I highly recommend her.

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was 13 and now i’m 21! Spending time with animals is so fun for me:) I am home in Reno for the summer and looking to spend time with your pets! I’m free the whole summer besides a few trips but I would love to spend some time with your pets! I go back to school in late September, so as of right now this is a summer job for me:) I have 2 dogs of my own that will keep your pet company if needed. My house has a fenced in dog run specifically for going to the bathroom and a very calm neighborhood for walks! I have also been dog sitting for other families for a majority of my life.

About: 1st ingredient is passion! Ive had a love for animals since is was a kid. After high school I went to school in Manhattan and worked walking dogs and was hooked. I Went on to get my certification in basic obedience training. I have worked on and off my whole life with dogs it is truly the best job in the world to me. All the years that i have been with dogs all my clients say I am trustworthy, reliable and will go beyond the call of duty to help animals. My main objective whenever I take on an animal of any kind is Safety First! I always evaluate the animal to see how it responds to its owner and then how it responds to me and then how we respond together as a pack. Even if the client tells me their animal is okay to walk with me with other animals if I sense any sort of tension I will say no. Dogs do not have the ability to reason that's why it is very very important to speak their language and sometimes that takes a lot of patience which I have because of my devotion. I am recently retired, 2 years now. That gives me a free week including weekends to provide love and care for all fur babies in need. My entire condominium is set up for Doggy Daycare and it's wonderful it's very welcoming! There are quite a few walking paths in the neighborhood! I live in a 2 story condo with 2 private balcony's. I am on the end unit and have that side of yard (not fenced) to myself. I installed 3 separate auger tie-out cables into the ground., each 30 ft. The condo association takes care of the yard so it is well maintained. This is roughly a 10 unit dwelling surrounded by houses. 75% familys. We also have our own park. walking path and a field dedicated to dogs. I live up against BLM land so there is an awesome path to walk up as well. At Doggie Daycare they all know when it's time to go for there afternoon walks it is the cutest thing to watch them go to the front door and wait. I'm old school and still live by "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" And " treat it like it was your own" I believe all living things and non should be treated with respect. I can assure you lots of play time and love!

My schedule is very flexible, and I can be around as much or as little as your pets need me. I am available any day of the week! I treat everyone’s home and property as if it were my own. I realize that letting a stranger into your safe space is a huge deal, and I will always do everything in my power to make the experience easy on you. Enjoy your trip and let me handle the pets!

About: I have had dogs my entire life, and have taken care of both my own and my family friends as well. I know how to provide medication, love, and all of the support pups need. I am currently working full time, but I always have time to dedicate before and after work to taking care of animals! I am most free on weekday mornings and later at night, but if booked in advance I can be free the whole day :) I care for them depending on the instructions the owner provides for me- no matter what though, I always make sure the animals have enough food, water, and attention to get them through the day :)

About: If your pet has lots of energy, I’d love to help them get exercise. I love walking dogs and playing with cats. I grew up with dogs (mostly German Shepherds), but sadly do not currently have a pet of my own. I work remotely, so I can spend all day with your pets. I can also take breaks to play with your pets and walk your dog(s). I’m flexible and happy to follow detailed instructions. I’ll send you pictures of your pet(s) daily. I know how hard it can be to be away from them!

About: I am a passionate dog walker committed to delivering tailored walks, fostering joy and exercise for furry companions while prioritizing their safety and happiness. I have been walking dogs for at least 10 years, starting in college over my summer breaks and since then I have watched/walked dogs on and off throughout my graduate program. I am trustworthy, and reliable, and am dedicated to treating your fur baby/babies as my own. I am a new Physical Therapist just trying to pay off her loans ASAP! I am also an avid dog-lover without a dog of my own so I am looking for a fun and fluffy friend to fulfill these needs! My schedule of availability is currently subjected to mornings and evenings at this time. I will care for your pets as you see fit and promise to keep your animals safe in my care. I also love to send pictures to the owner in order to keep them updated on their baby's whereabouts and activities.

About: I currently live in a two downstair bedroom apartment with access to the patio and yard. I currently have one dog, a Norwegian Elkhound. We go for about 1hrs walks daily and go out hiking almost every weekend. I have experience with all sizes (small, medium, large, x-large). I also babysat several of my friends' dogs at my apartment and I have also gone to their houses to dog sit. I have also done multiple walks with multiple dogs. I am willing to walk multiple dogs, go to someone's house to house sit/ dog sit, and willing to dog sit overnight for multiple days. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns for me. I work full time from 8-5 M-F. But I'll sometimes come home for lunch and if required I can always come home to take the dog out. I can also dog walk during the day as I use it for my lunch time. I try to make them as comfortable as I can. If staying with me, I have multiple dog beds, water bowls, and toys they can use. I have a big crate if that is needed. I also have gates to block off areas that they get into or where they don't need to be in. I do live downstairs and access to the patio and yard. I always leash them if we are going out this way since it isn't fenced.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Verdi. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
