“Alex was an absolute lifesaver when she helped me out last minute with watching my dog, Shadow! She was amazing from start to finish. Super flexible about meeting up, really listened to what I was looking for, and went above and beyond spending extra time playing with Shadow and giving him lots of love. She even gave some extra love to our cats.Shadow absolutely loved making a new friend, and I couldn’t be happier that I found Alex. I’ll 100% be using her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter.”

“Michael did a great job with a drop in visit this time. The pups were ecstatic to see him. He he took them out and also played ball with them for a while in the backyard. I can always be confident that during my longer business days that our dogs are happy and well cared for.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was so nervous. I needed someone last minute and Gabrielle came to my rescue! Highly recommend and I will definitely use their service again.”

About: I treat every pet like family, giving them the same love, attention, and care I give my own. I’m experienced with both energetic puppies and sweet senior pets—patient with training needs and gentle with older dogs who need extra TLC. I’m always tuned in to each pet’s personality and comfort, whether that means long walks, belly rubs, or quiet company. Safety, consistency, and connection are my top priorities. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine—I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and make them a priority in my schedule. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening playtime, I plan my day around their needs. I’m reliable, flexible, and always happy to give pets the time and attention they deserve. Caring for animals isn’t just a job for me—it’s something I truly love doing. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in yours, their safety and comfort always come first. I keep a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where they feel secure and relaxed. I follow all routines closely—feeding schedules, walks, meds, and favorite toys—so pets feel right at home. I also give regular updates with photos so you always know how your pet is doing. I respect your space, your rules, and your pet’s unique needs, treating them like part of the family.

About: Apart from my own mini aussie, Hobbs, I have cared for friends and families pets ranging from puppies to equine. My own dog is going on 13 this year meaning I am no stranger to administering medication or following special care instructions. I also have my own flock of chickens (2 years old) that I’ve raised from a day old. I’ve had to treat them medically numerous times making avian care well known to me. In addition, I’ve grown up around and involved in care for horses and other livestock (goats, sheep). I’m currently going to school at UNR but classes are over at 3pm! Late afternoons and nights work great. The weekends I can accommodate virtually any time and overnights. I am working a part time job, so my fluctuating schedule will be reflected in my availability. While I don’t currently offer services in my own home, I have my own vehicle large enough for big puppies in case of emergency! Otherwise I will abide by any and all house rules and instructions :)
“Catherine is amazing in her care of my dog and gives me great peace of mind. She is communicative and always lets me know of anything that needs attention. She is conscientious and reliable. I’m so glad I found her!”

“First time using Rover and I was very nervous. Khine sent lots of photo updates and was very considerate of my dogs needs. I think my pup had fun and I would definitely recommend Khine to others!”

“I contacted MK at the last minute, needing a waler that very night. They rearranged their schedule to meet me right away and came over to walk hours later. They were kind to Huck right away and he responded to them right away.”

About: I have been caring for pets my entire life, but only for 18 years professionally. I have worked as a dog trainer, dog groomer, a veterinary assistant and a boarding clinic employee. Currently, I teach Puppy classes, Obedience 101, and Rally at the Truckee Meadows Dog Training Club, I am an emergency foster for bottle puppies/kittens for the Humane Society, and I am home almost all the time. I have many years of experience with dogs, cats, and livestock animals. I am also capable of caring for birds, fish, and reptiles. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats who are so very loved and spoiled. I let my own dogs out every 2-4 hours and take them on 2 walks a day while its cooler outside. I do training routine practices with them at least once a day because they are active in classes at the local dog club. I can care for dogs at your home or they are welcome to come to mine! At this time, I am flexible with what works best for you.
“This is the second time Sherina has taken care of my cat and garden, and her care and consideration is outstanding; both times, she has gone above and beyond the job description. I forgot it was trash day the day before I was coming home, and she noticed the neighbors had their cans outside. My recycling was completely full, and she was kind enough to take it out. This attention to detail extended to her care for my cat, who immediately recognized her as his new best friend. Sherina’s love for animals is evident beyond the pets entrusted in her care; my cat is a remorseless hunter, and she rescued a baby bunny from the backyard before the cat could catch it. The cat quickly forgave her with the distraction of his favorite treats. Sherina also has a green thumb; she kept my garden thriving during a heat wave, and sent me updates on the blooming flowers in addition to adorable cat in action pictures. She also noticed the nozzle attachment to my automatic drip system had a crack and was leaking. I ordered the replacement, and Sherina offered to switch out the broken one for the new one. I felt like it was a lot to ask since I hadn’t included horticultural engineering in the contract, but she said she would be happy to fix it. When I returned, the drip system was better than ever- no leak, low water bill, no wasted water and happy flowers. What’s more, Sherina was able to watch the house an extra day on short notice when my travel plans unexpectedly changed. If I could give her ten stars, I would! You can be assured that your pet and home will be in loving and competent hands when you’re out of town. Thank you, Sherina, Kepa will be happy to see you again soon!”

“Chelsea was a wonderful pet sitter for us while we were away on a camping trip. She arrived when scheduled, followed through with our requests, sent many photos, and provided exceptional communication when it came to updates and any problems. We came home and our kitties were well taken care, along with our home. Looking forward to our next trip knowing that we can have a reliable and responsible pet sitter available for our cats.”

“Monica was a wonderful help while I was away. My usually very timid and anxious cat warmed up to her immediately. She made sure he got all his medicine daily, played with him and went above and beyond to clean some cat throw up off my carpet one day. Highly recommend.”

“Devin was awesome. He was available on very short notice (same day) and was also available to extend the drop in visits off short notice as well with no hesitation. He was consistent with notes, concerns and routes daily & took his time to make sure our dog Juno felt comfortable. We were very pleased with Devin and will be sure to book with him again in the future.”

“absolutely cannot recommend more! She took amazing cate of our two cats and always kept us up to date with their eating and potty schedule even when we forgot to put up the pet cam. Will definitely be rebooking!”

Gabby is an amazing pet sitter/caretaker and I will absolutely go straight to Gabby when I need a sitter again! My cat is recovering from an illness which needed careful attention and daily pill administration. Gabby clearly has experience with cats, left very detailed notes, and followed all of my cat's specific care so well! My cat got her pill every day even though she doesn't make it easy! Honestly so impressed and so grateful, Gabby went above and beyond. I felt very reassured knowing my cat had Gabby around to take care of her. Thank you so much, Gabby!

Shelly is amazing, really did an Amazing job. She did everything we asked of her and was truly concerned for our animals. We were worried about leaving our 17 yr old senior dog, but she took extra care. She sent pictures of our babies and checked in everyday with updates. This was our first time using a sitter, and it went perfectly.

This was the second time Devon fed and checked on my cats, and she continues to be absolutely wonderful. It is such a relief to be away knowing everything is handled perfectly. She is incredibly reliable, communicative, and attentive to all of my cat's needs. I can highly recommend Devon to anyone looking for a trustworthy, top-tier sitter—she’s fantastic!

Danika was an absolute life-saver when our cat ended up going to the emergency vet just a few days before my family and I were going on vacation for a whole week after. As he recovered from his vet visit, he required constant care which involved multiple check-ins a day, monitoring how often he drank water, ate his food, and used the litter box. He also needed to be given 3 different medications on different time schedules, 2 of which required being administered with a syringe in his mouth. Danika was able to do all of this and even texted us updates after each visit to let us know how things were going. Her availability on such short notice along with her attention to detail and genuine love and care for our cat gave us the peace of mind we needed to enjoy our vacation without feeling worried the entire time. I would gladly book her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone else needing someone to look after their kitties. Huge props to Danika!

Athena and Natas have welcomed Luna into their circle. They are very happy with her care for them. They enjoy their pets, belly rubs, brushing, being fed and being cleaned up after by Luna. They absolutely approve. And so do I. We are very fortunate to be able to find a trustworthy and awesome kitty sitter. Thank you Luna!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
