“My 6-month-old golden retriever puppy spent 5 days during Thanksgiving at Shanna's, she sent photos and updates daily and my pup had a great time with Shanna's dogs, and Shanna was kind enough to give my pup a Thanksgiving present. It is pretty hard to find a kind and thoughtful sitter, Shanna is definitely one of them. Strongly Recommended.”

“Megan and her family are great! This was my second time using them. They kept me informed, sent pics, and gave my girls lots of love. I will definitely use them again in the future!”

“Shawna and her family did a wonderful job taking care of our dog. We really appreciate the extra care and diligence with our guy, who’s recovering from a broken leg. Great caretakers!”

“Angelina was very attentive to my dog's needs. Even though the house is small, she gave my dog cozy places to rest and was home a lot and available to let my dog in and out frequently. She sent a lot of pictures and communications. She and Linda are very kind and caring and gave my dog a lot of love. Thank you”

“Monica was absolutely amazing watching Kirby! I could tell right away that he was in great hands — she sent tons of pics and check-ins throughout the stay, and Kirby looked so comfortable and happy in every single one. As someone who’s a little obsessed with my dog, that peace of mind means everything to me. Her house is clean, and the neighborhood felt safe and welcoming. She and her partner are just an amazing couple, and I’d trust them with Kirby again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend! I can’t wait to snuggle my doooood!”

About: Dogs stay in my home as part of the family, with a fully fenced half-acre yard, two friendly Cavaliers and plenty of room to play. I've had dogs most of my life and have also cared for dogs for friends and families I've connected with through Facebook (see testimonials). Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I work about 10 minutes from home and can come home for a lunchtime visit when needed. I typically feed dogs in the morning and again after work, and I can accommodate midday meals, medications or other care needs. Evenings and weekends allow plenty of time for walks, play and attention. Dogs stay with me as part of the family alongside my two friendly, neutered Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They’re welcome on the couch or bed and get plenty of attention and affection. My fully fenced half-acre yard has a large lawn, orchard, garden and sagebrush-covered hillside with lots of room to run, sniff and explore. I also have chickens that are separated from visiting dogs by their enclosed coop or a separate fenced area. I live in a quiet neighborhood directly on the Steamboat Ditch Trail, giving us easy access to walks without having to drive anywhere.
“Lisa did a wonderful job making Sawyer feel like she was at another family member’s house. This is a much better experience she would ever get from a general boarding facility. The July 4th pic is one of the best pictures we have of Sawyer- THANK YOU Lisa, we will look for you again when we take our next trip.”

“So happy we found Kendra! We are new to the area and had to find a new sitter. Kendra was reassuring our pup would be in good hands, asked all the right questions to ensure she could give good care, and was flexible with our schedule. Our girl enjoyed her stay and we’ll definitely be booking again!”

“Kind, smart, thoughtful, attentive, generous with photos.Elaine was an absolute inspiration wonderful sitter.will definitely be using her again in this area. My dogs have never felt so comfortable in a home. Thank you Elaine.”

“Roseana is super easygoing and reliable. Her laidback nature made the whole process smooth, and my old l doggie was happy and relaxed. Would definitely book again!”

“The best. Kind and patient with our pets even though one of them was not being his best while staying there. Walked our two dogs, took them on car rides, and a trip to Petco while we were gone. Thank you! ♥️”

“Wendy & Dave were absolutely fabulous! We left our two golden retrievers with them while we were away on a Christmas vacation / getaway, but I think the real vacation was the stay Emberly & Rippy had while we were away. We received so many pictures of the fun they were having. It's clear they truly loved our babies. I can't imagine a better temporary home than with Wendy & Dave. We have a couple of longer trips planned & would not consider any other boarding options. Thank you for showing our furry family so much love.”

“Thank you Wendy for taking care of our pup! She can be stubborn on walks and shy with people but she loved staying in your home and it was such a relief to know she was being taken care of while we went on a trip”

“Karly and Emily were great to work with. They accommodated a last minute booking, and were very responsive and available. Willie had a great time, came home exhausted and I appreciated the daily update and pictures. This was my first Rover booking and I will definitely be boarding with them again!”

“Cameron and Amanda were great. The really seem to enjoy having the pups around and sent consistent updates and photos. They were very flexible when both my departing and arriving flights were late and even kept the girls a few hours longer. Would definitely trust them with the girls again.”

“Experience with Vanessa was chill with no issues. My 14 lb terrier mutt seemed happy and well cared for during his stay. I’ll definitely check first with Vanessa when booking future stays.”

“ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! Breanna kept me updated on the fur baby at all times and even sent pictures and videos of her fur baby and mine playing. Another Bonus- my fur baby never really got along with males but somehow Breanna's partner made a bond with Ramu which is VERY RARE. will defffffo be booking again”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Reno
Jessie and Emma were great and accommodated our very last-minute request. They were super flexible with drop-off and even let us pick up the pups late at night. We got lots of wonderful pictures while we were gone, which really put our minds at ease. They listened to everything we told them about the dogs, and we picked up three very happy pups! We’d definitely use them again.

Kathryn was amazing!! I was so anxious to leave my dog with a pet sitter the first time (nothing about Kathryn or anything, I was just anxious in general). Kathryn let me and Bonsai meet her before the sitting and helped me feel better about it. Then Bonsai was with her for a week and she said he did so well! Kathryn would send me photos and updates multiple times a week too! She’s amazing and I’ve already booked her again.

If there was 100 stars Kris and her hubby Eric would get all 100 ! A really great experience, my first time using Rover was ok , but this time I found my Daisy the best babysitter who can imagine ! I had a hip replacement, which hadn’t gone as planned , I knew I could not care for my Daisy ( chihuahua) as a single senior citizen , for a couple weeks , So I found Kris on Rover , loved her reviews , one review should be scrubbed ! Emergencies do happen ! So I will be using Kris for all of my babysitting needs in the future ! Thanks a million Kris and Eric , thank you for treating Daisy as your own ! 💕

If you love your doggy, then Kaytee is hands down the best person you could entrust with that bond. My girlfriend and I went on vacation for the weekend and Kaytee took care of our baby Smokey while we were gone. She approached his care with a level of detail and attention that is seriously unrivaled and provided us updates and cute puppy photos the entire time. I would recommend Kaytee to anyone looking for a safe and loving home for their dog. Kaytee, you are so awesome and we are so thankful we had the opportunity to share our puppy with you!

Kevin was an excellent dog sitter for our Tiko. He sent more pictures and messages than anyone I have had in Rover. He kept Tiko for 7 days. I had no doubts that we had chosen well by choosing Kevin. He's wonderful and I do not hesitate to highly recommend him to anyone/everyone looking for a dog sitter.

Carson was really great, she provided many photos throughout my little guys stay. I was very nervous as this was my first time using Rover with my kitten, but she had great communication and was very welcoming that I knew he was in great hands. I would definitely book with her again!

Our older Boston absolutely loves when he gets to go see Rachel and her partner. He LOVES them so much and almost doesn’t want to leave when we pick him up. Our puppy is still pretty shy and needs more socialization but I could tell he opened up a lot!! He’s usually afraid of bigger dogs but was playing with a larger pup that was with them. Was really cool to see, he’s a lot more confident too after spending a couple days with them! You’re not going to find a better sitter in town, she is fantastic and so flexible and understanding.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NV ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
