“Mickenzie did a great job watching taking care of Socks and Kitt last week. She made sure that they were feed during their usual schedule and cleaned their litter boxes twice a day. She even took photos for each visit. Socks seemed to be very comfortable around her. Kitt is still shy, but that is how she has always been around other people. I would be happy to have her take care of them while I am out of town again.”

“I’m so thankful for Caitlyn! Due to an accident I had a last minute request. I felt so much better knowing that she was going to be caring for my animals and it helped take some of the stress off of what I was dealing with. Caitlyn took great care of them and I hope to book with her again .”

About: Everything will be done to keep your dog safe, healthy, calm, and happy while they are in my care. All visits include the following: lots of walks tracked with strava, photo updates, and extra love. Your best friend will get filtered water from fresh bowls each day, and only give your dog food and treats that you provide. You deserve what you want during your dogs stay. Consider this a vacation for your dog, and that all their needs will be taken care of so you can enjoy your time on your vacation, staycation, or day trip. Skiers and Snowboarders, drop them for the day with confidence in my expertise. Your dog is the foundation of my routine, my dog Rummy (pictured) is happy to wait his turn if needed as I tend to your dogs. All dogs get extra love in the mornings, and structure during walks. Assuming our dogs get along I’ll let them play. If needed, I’ll keep my guy from being too friendly, and I am prepared to keep dogs separated if they aren’t the best fit to be together. But I also limit how many dogs I take at once, to keep things easy on me.

About: Hi there, I’m Olivia and can’t wait to meet your fur family! My parents had a sweet spot for rescues and adopted dogs from shelters throughout my childhood. I have experience caring for a variety of breeds/sizes, ages, personalities, and levels of health. Over the past 15 years I have also sat for family, friends, and neighbors. I work remotely for a local company so my availability is pretty flexible and will allow me to be with your pup(s) as often as needed. Safety is my top priority. They will be leashed for potty breaks if there isn’t a fenced yard at home and on walks, especially while exploring busy trails and beaches.

About: Hi, my name is Sam and I have over 10 years of experience pet sitting! I mostly pet sit for dogs and cats of many backgrounds - fostered kittens and retired race greyhounds, energetic dogs to elderly dogs and cats. I have experience administering medications and shots for diabetic dogs. I worked seasonly on a farm for 4 years in Vermont before moving to the area and I fed/cared for chickens and alpacas on the field. Lastly, I have experience caring for reptiles - I had a gecko and amphibians for 17 years. I teach in Truckee Monday-Friday 9-3:15pm. I have time to care for your pets in the mornings before 9am and anytime after 3:15pm. I have flexibility during my lunch break that is between 12-12:45. Weekends I am more flexible about timing. I am a big outdoor enthusiast - mountain biker, skier, hiker, runner. If you need a dog walker or sitter, I would love for your dog to come join in on the fun! But I can walk your pet outside in the neighborhood if you just need a drop in. If you have a routine for your pet/s, I am happy to stick with that to help them feel comfortable and at home. If you need help with overnights, I am happy to discuss the length of days needed. I will send photos and videos while you are away! *Unfortunately at this time, I am not taking house sitting/overnight requests at this time. I am booked March 30-May 27th. I am available after then*

About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats for the past 6 years! Growing up, my grandma had a sheep farm and that was my day care. I’ve been around animals my whole life and volunteered at many shelters and Navajo reservation vaccination trips. I have two dogs, one I found on the Navajo trip and the other was given to me by my aunt once her hips gave out. I worked at the local truckee Tahoe pet lodge and learned a lot of about dog and cat care and needs. I’m a local, working at Northstar year round and love to help families with their animals ❤️🐾 I am a local, year round worker at Northstar but I have a lot of free time during shoulder seasons and after work! It is easy for me to add pet care into my daily schedule for check ins or walks as well as house sits. I am able to take care of all animals and willing to stay at the owners house if needed. I am able to give necessary care to all animals no matter the age, size or animal.

About: I've had my own dogs, cats, horses and chickens. I've been pet sitting for a few years now. I try to go on as many walks as possible and even bring them to work if the family is ok with it. I love animals of all ages! I have a full-time job but I can work from home 3 days a week. So I have plenty of free time to go out for walks or simply let them outside. I will make sure they get the attention they need. If they are outside I won't leave them out after dark on their own. Lock all doors for other furry visitors. Make sure they have a comfortable bed. Sometimes sleep together if it's ok with the parents. Have lots of toys and time for walks and play.

“Zac is wonderful and Hera loves him! He has great communication, is ultra-reliable and always sends photos. We will definitely be using Zac again!”

“Caroline visited with our dogs twice while we were skiing. What a great service she provided!”

About: I grew up with a household of pets. After leaving my childhood home I moved to the Tahoe Truckee area and began working for a veterinarian. I studied animal behavior in college and I continued to work in the veterinary profession until my retirement in 2022, for 40 plus years! I have always devoted myself to the best of care for all of my own pets, including hamsters, parakeets, cats, dogs, rats, and chickens, and to the pets of friends and family including horses. I am very tuned into their health and medical needs as well as their everyday fun and attention needs. I love to walk and am very safety conscious. I am free to offer services many days. Now that I am newly retired I do spend some time traveling away from home or with other part time activities but, in general, my schedule is very flexible. As I currently have a senior cat who is afraid of dogs, I prefer most of my services be in your home or walking your dogs. However, some cat loving, mellow dogs might be possible for short periods in my home as needed. I do not have a fenced yard so outside time in my home would be leash walking time, dependent on the needs of your dog, for safety.

About: My husband and I have always had dogs, I have had cats and bunnies as well. I have fostered kittens as well. We lost our elderly dog ( yes, we know how to carry a dog outside to pee and how to not sneak up on deaf ones) a few years ago. We have two young kids that LOVE animals. Rover is a way for us to give that pet love and hopefully receive it until we get our own dog in future. My husband works from home full time . I work part time out of house, but have chunks of week off of work. We would post availability when We are both around and have no trips planned We have a fenced back yard and an unfenced large front lawn. We have paths near our house for great outdoor walks. We can have well behaved dogs sleep in our room in beds if they like or if they crate sleep, we can place where they are comfortable. We are early risers so if your dog need out in morn, we can accommodate. I am a nurse and feel comfortable administering medications to animals as well.

“Olivia has been watching my 2 fur children for years and she is always reliable and trustworthy. She has such a kind and gentle nature about her and my dogs get so excited to see her and spend time with her! I know they’re always well taken care of when she’s around, which relieves a lot of stress and worry for me. One of my dogs can also have quite the attitude and she handles her with grace and knows when to be stern with her. I can’t recommend Olivia enough for your pet sitting needs!”

14. Samantha M.
“Sam has taken care of our dogs many times and is the BEST. We are so sad that she has moved from the east coast, as she is irreplaceable. Our dogs adore her- GiGi gets so excited her teeth chatter, and Maui immediately runs to grab his favorite toy to show her. Not only does she take excellent care of the dogs, she keeps the house neat and tidy (tidier than we do even!). Can’t recommend her highly enough!”
