About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I raised a Beagle (Billy) from puppyhood and proudly attended dog training classes with him (Billy and I both learned alot !) I've also had the joy of rescuing Summer, a gorgeous ex-show dog Golden Retriever, who was by my side for 13 years. After that was Bammer, an Alaskan Husky Lab mix. He was my adventure buddy, and always kept me on my toes! Besides my own dogs, I've had lots of experience caring for my friends' dogs while they are travelling, so have been able to adapt to all kinds of personalities, temperaments and levels of energy. The silver lining is that I currently have no pets of my own, which means your dog will get all the love, attention, belly rubs, walks, playtime, and couch cuddles they can handle. Whether your pup is an energetic explorer, a pro napper, or somewhere in between, they'll be treated like part of the familly. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, and my goal is simple: to make sure they're happy, safe, loved, and maybe just a little spoiled while you're away. 🐾 I work from home and have a flexible schedule, allowing for plenty of attention, potty breaks, and playtime throughout the day. I also love getting outside for neighborhood walks, so your pup will get lots of fresh air, exercise, and cuddles. I have a fully fenced yard for safe play and potty breaks, and dogs are welcome inside the home as part of the family. I'll follow your pet's routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed while in my care.

Setting all of that aside, she was so nice to my dog, Roscoe, who seems to have had a blast in her care. Malea sent lots of updates throughout the day, which, if I needed reassuring at all (I didn’t because I instantly trusted her), certainly did the trick. And she was very accommodating when holiday ski traffic was beyond ridiculous getting back to her place for pickup and even nicer when our ski plans changed necessitating a cancellation of our last day of daycare services. I cannot recommend Malea enough, and we will definitely be contacting her again on our next trip to Tahoe.”

“Melissa was amazing. My wife and I were in Tahoe for the weekend and desperately needed a little break from our two dogs, Gracie and Miley. They can get overstimulated in new places, and honestly, so could we. With my wife currently pregnant, we could only do so much physically, and we were feeling pretty overwhelmed and anxious trying to balance everything while still making sure the girls were happy and cared for. We felt bad because they’re dogs — they need adventure, stimulation, and interaction — but we also knew we were reaching our limit and needed help. Thankfully, we found Melissa on Rover. She was incredibly responsive, kind, and patient with all of our questions and concerns. She even took the time to hop on a quick call beforehand to make sure it would be a good fit for everyone involved. We started by introducing Gracie first, and Melissa had a thoughtful strategy for slowly introducing her to the other dogs in her care. Once that went well, we introduced Miley too, and she integrated perfectly with the group. Melissa sent us photo updates throughout the day, which gave us so much peace of mind. You can tell she genuinely loves dogs and has a lot of experience caring for them. Seeing the girls smiling in her backyard overlooking Incline Village and Lake Tahoe made us feel like we absolutely made the right decision. What meant the most to us was what her care allowed us to do. Knowing the girls were in safe and loving hands allowed my wife and I to finally relax, go on a short hike together, spend quality time with each other, and actually enjoy one of our last days in Tahoe without constantly worrying or feeling overstimulated ourselves. That peace of mind was priceless. Melissa took such great care of Gracie and Miley, and we would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, experienced, and genuinely caring. Truly a stellar experience all around.”

About: I have had dogs my entire life and will treat yours as my own. I am happy to send pictures and updates of our walk or time together while you are away. I can take your dog on a walk around the neighborhood, run, hike, to the river or lake, or whatever you suggest. I can provide pet sitting at your house or my own. I have a home with a fenced in yard perfect for doggy day care. I have a flexible schedule that can fit your needs. I'm looking forward to meeting your pup! I am a local teacher who works Mon-Wed so those days I am gone during school hours. Thur-Sun and summer I am available with a flexible schedule. I live in a quiet neighborhood with a fenced in yard that’s perfect for a pup. My most recent dog was an old golden retriever with medical needs so I am used to providing special care.

About: As a pet lover and dog mom myself, your pets are my priority and I love getting to meet new dog and cat friends! I am comfortable with pets in all shapes and sizes, and have extensive experience with anxious animals, as my own dog is quite the shy guy. I live in Alpine Meadows and work at Palisades Tahoe, and am happy to give your pets the care they deserve on my off days and before/after work! I work at Palisades Tahoe as a ski instructor and live in the Donner Lake area. I typically work Friday-Sunday with evenings off. I can be flexible if needed! My dog is super friendly and he gets taken out every 3-5 hours if possible. I try to walk him every day, as well as letting him socialize with other pups!

About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.
