“Avery’s was great! She went above and beyond to drop in and walk my two large hounds, including my 9 month old puppy! She video called with me ahead of her visit and left a sweet note, took pics. I will definitely ask her to take care of my pups again! Highly recommend her!”

“Temma took care of our two kitties while we were away for six days and I would def use her services again. She was communicative, followed the written instructions, and went above and beyond to help out with an errand for our dogs that were boarding at the pet lodge in town. We very much appreciated her help!”

“Missy was so easy to work with and we were able to enjoy our trip knowing our dog was well taken care of. Missy stopped by a couple of times a day to feed, water, and play with our dog. Her updates were great. She is extremely dependable and responsible. Our dog loved her!”
About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I don't have any pets living with me so your pet would be the only one I would be caring for. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.
“Mickenzie did a great job watching taking care of Socks and Kitt last week. She made sure that they were feed during their usual schedule and cleaned their litter boxes twice a day. She even took photos for each visit. Socks seemed to be very comfortable around her. Kitt is still shy, but that is how she has always been around other people. I would be happy to have her take care of them while I am out of town again.”

“Jacqueline was great with my dog pepper! She was able to come and check on him, sent pictures, and let me know how he was during a long day of work! Great with communication, and would definitely trust her to check in/watch pepper again!”

About: Dogs have been a central part of my life for more than 10 years. I’m the owner of Furbal Remedies and have years of experience supporting dogs with anxiety, allergies, digestive sensitivities, mobility concerns, special diets, supplements, and medications. I understand how important consistency and attention to detail are, especially for pets with unique needs. My goal is always to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. I work part-time and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable care throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a daily walk, a midday check-in, vacation care, or extra attention while you’re away, I’ll do my best to accommodate your routine. I believe consistency helps pets feel secure, so I strive to keep their schedule as close to normal as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions so they receive the same thoughtful care they’re used to at home. I’ll always treat your home with respect, provide regular updates and photos, and make sure you have peace of mind while you’re away. For first-time clients, I prefer a quick Meet & Greet with you and your dog before their first booking whenever scheduling allows. It gives us a chance to meet, go over their routine, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before their first visit.

“Monica was so very helpful! She sent me so many photos of miss Jade. I knew she was a great sitter because my cat has a hard time coming out when new people come around. But she was not shy with Monica!! A good sign indeed. She gave her a lot of love and pets. I would highly recommend Monica and will definitely have her watch Jade again! (:”

About: I have experience working at a doggy day-care. I was responsible for watching and entertaining up to 25 dogs at a time of all ages and sizes! I work 10 hour shifts 4 days a week Tues-Fri. I am not home for pick ups/drop-offs between 7:15 AM-6:30 PM on those days. However my 3-day weekend gives me plenty of time to give your pup the love and attention they deserve! I hope to find some canine friends to hike with me on the weekends. I can cater to whatever your dog needs as I have plenty of experience working with different breeds, sizes, and ages. Just let me know and I will provide.

“Lindi is wonderful and we couldn't be happier with our first Rover experience! Our boys love her and we love knowing they're getting lots of attention when we can't be at home. We will definitely be booking with her again... and again... and again! Thank you!”

“Brianna is a gem! She and her kids gave so much love to my 1 year old dog Ellie and 1 year old cat Toji. She sent tons of photos, was super responsive and gave extensive updates for each visit (twice a day). My animals adores people and kids and it was such a treat for them to make new friends while we were away. It also was so comforting to see pics and videos of the animals having a good time while we were away - especially for my kids to know they were so loved. 10/10 highly recommend!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
