“Cindy helped us through a very complicated time. It was her first time sitting rabbits (we have two) and she was going to just be doing daily drop-ins with them. While we were out of town, the Hawk fire evacuated our home and she took the bunnies into her home until the evacuation was lifted. We are so grateful for her and her families support and flexibility. Thank you Cindy!”

About: Hi! My name is Cassandra, I have always had pets at home. From cats and dogs, to lizards and fish. I love being around animals and seeing them experience joy and contentment. My pets are like my practice children and I put so much care into their well being. I hope to be able to do the same for your pets as well. I don't have a fulltime job so I am extremely flexible with your schedule. I can do pretty much anything, walks for the dogs (or any other type of pet) playing with the cats, feeding, overnight, and if you need something else please reach out! I would love to be able to help you with whatever your pets might need. If you have any questions at all please feel free to reach out! I look forward to hearing from you and I look foreword to meeting you fur babies! I currently am not working so I have an incredibly flexible schedule. I have plenty of time to spend with your beauties! So I am open to all types of schedules. I can feed, play, clean up, and walk with all your pets. Drop ins or night stays I am open for either. I cannot do very long walks due to a medical issue but I can play fetch all day and long a good jaunt around the neighborhood.
About: Meet our family Hi there! My name is Erin. I'm an animal lover with varied lifelong animal experience including working for a veterinarian, animal training and animal care (for my own furry children as well as others furry family members). My husband Owen and I have three amazing pups in the house currently ranging from 2 to 15 years. Two sweet Aussies pups and then our senior Pappy-Pom who is still quite a sassy boy. I have always been a true dog lover. My mom was somewhat less than thrilled when I began to bring home every stray I could find to make sure that we could find their mom. I grew up reading James Harriot books as well as anything involving dog behavior or training and began training our family dogs before I was even in my teens. My dogs have always been part of the family and that is how I will treat yours! We love spending as much time as we can outdoors in nature or at pet friendly venues with our furry kids (and at the lake when warm enough). My experience administering medication I am experienced with administering medication and have done so for my own animals as well as for patients when I worked at a veterinary clinic. My schedule is somewhat flexible and any animals I care for would be prioritized. (I would not accept a responsibility I could not fulfill. I take animal care very seriously and I would expect that for my own furchildren.) Time I'll spend with your dog Any time your pet is in my care they will have my full attention (and a constant companion if they get along with my own pet).
“Brianna is awesome. Went above and beyond. She made sure my dog was always fed and happy when she was there and took her on walks. Had a leak in water heater and let me know right away, and shut off the valves that plumber told us to shut off. I would highly recommend Brianna to care for anyone's pets. She keeps you updated daily and is very responsible and professional.”

About: My sister relied on me to house sit and watch her dogs for a couple of weeks every summer when I was in middle and high school. I grew up with dogs and was responsible for taking them on walks, feeding them, brushing them, bathing them, and playing with them. I am between jobs so I am quite flexible right now. I am looking to get a full-time position at which point I will update my schedule here. My cats are feral rescues so I cannot afford to bring any other animals into my home, but I am very cautious while going on walks to be very aware of other dogs (especially off leash), people driving too fast in residential areas, and making sure to bring adequate water for walks on warm days.
About: My Husband and I have taken care of dogs since we were teenagers, having dogs of our own- we have the experience needed to ensure that your loved one aka furry family member will be safe, taken care of properly, and loved! I’m currently available 24/7- any day of the week! Which gives me plenty of time to give your fur babies all of the love, care, and attention they deserve! I have 2 small pups of my own- they are both crate trained/friendly to other dogs and we live in an apartment complex that has tons of grass areas for potty and or play time! Caring for your pups in your own home is something I can do as well! I just want your pets to feel as comfortable as they can and you too! I’m very big on Safety when it comes to our pets. Safety is my ultimate priority (and giving my all to your pets is a must for me.) I will always keep you updated and ensure your dogs stay happy!
“Our dogs always love their visits from Shelby. We have weekly drop in visits and she has taken care of our dogs while we are out of town. She’s great at communicating and providing updates and pictures. I love knowing our dogs are with someone who cares about them just as much as me. I would highly recommend her!!!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and have taken care care of family and friends dogs and cats when they go out of town. I currently take care of our family’s bernadoodle part time when she’s not with her mom and we love to take her on long walks and a run around the yard. When she is not with me I miss her and would love to give your pups or cats some love too. I am currently working part time 2 days a week so I can fit care for your pets on the other days of the week. I have a fenced backyard with plenty of space for your dog to run around. I also have gates in the house to keep them out of mischief. In your home I will keep your pets out of mischief by taking them on walks/ runs or adventures like a hike if permitted.
About: I am a caretaker! I'm closing my 36 year home based childcare. I LOVE the big puppies. My boy was 140lbs. passed 10/2024. I can be your puppy Grandma! (All dogs are puppies at heart) I have worked from home for over 36 years and plan to keep at home! I am moving from children to dogs. Spending every Summer on my Grandparents farm was heaven, lots of work, done with so much respect for the hours and lifestyle. I moved back to Hidden Valley to care for my parents and raise my kids. They are all gone and I am looking for a new direction, while tending my garden and remodeling. I have never been without a dog (dogs). My children are all in different States so, giving and getting my dog love fix vis sitting is the direction I'm heading as opposed to owning for now! I have always loved my pets more than any couch, so, furniture will be all access. How I will care for your pet will be up to you! 1/2 Acre fully fenced, 110 tree's, small grass area, DG to dig in. 24 years here and all of my dogs (passed) loved it. I have had 36 years of open communication with child parents and I will do the same for puppy parents. We should be cohesive and symbiotic. I left dry food out for my dogs, however, your dog your rules! Hidden Valley dog park is less than a mile from my home. My Livestock Guardian dog did not like the dog park so if yours does not I am totally ok going or not going! The Virginia Range is behind me and easily accessible for short hikes.

About: Hi everyone! My name is Kaela, and I’m a recent UNR graduate who works a 9–5. I’ve always been an animal lover and grew up with larger dogs, including Labs, Australian Shepherds, and Border Collies. I also come from a cat-loving family and currently live with an adorable kitty! I’ve been pet sitting since I was a kid and have experience caring for all kinds of animals, including cats, dogs, chickens, pigs, and goats. I truly love spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m very excited for the opportunity to meet your best friend and help make your life a little easier! I can’t wait to meet you and your pets! I currently work a 9–5, Monday through Friday, but I’m available to care for your pets before and after work, as well as on weekends. I’m happy to work with your schedule to make sure your pet gets the love, attention, and care they deserve! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Since I do not provide services in my own home, I care for your pets in the comfort and familiarity of their own environment. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and your home, and I strive to provide reliable, respectful, and attentive care every time. I’ll take the time to learn your pet’s routine, personality, and individual needs so they can feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your best friend is in good hands!
About: I have been a dog owner of multiple dogs my whole life, and look forward to supporting your family. I also work as a birth and postpartum Doula, where I meet lots of pet friends, and assist with their care. I am currently working part time for rover, my availability is mostly during the day on weekdays, with some nights and weekend availability. My schedule is quite flexible and I'm open to flexible scheduling. Let me know what you need I live about five minutes from the Sparks Marina and Smiths by Van Meter Park. I have a fully fenced yard, and am an active hiker, ready to take your pup for a stroll!
About: We love all animals and I have cared for dogs since I was eleven years old. Our house is dog and cat friendly. Your dog (s) and cat(s) will feel right at home and receive lots of love. We only care for dogs from one family at a time unless the dogs already know each other and with the pet parent’s permission. We are happy to take indoor cats and we won't schedule any dogs to stay with us when we have cat guests. The dog door is locked when we have cats. My husband and I will treat your "kids" as if they were our own, lavishing them with lots of love and attention. Dogs in our care are treated as if they are our own pets. We play, take walks and relax together. We make sure they are safe at all times. We are happy to feed them on your schedule and we can administer medicine if needed. Dogs are allowed on our furniture, but, if you prefer otherwise, we will accommodate that request. We are retired so we are home most of the time. We occasionally leave to go to the store, the gym or to a medical appointment. We leave dogs and cats home alone when needed, pending their parent's approval. If they can't be left alone for a short time, we make that work for us, and only one of us leaves the house at a time. We have a large dog door into a fenced dog run. We also have a large, fenced yard with lots of places to run and explore. We have no plants that can be dangerous to animals. There is no way a dog can escape from our yard. We keep our front screen door locked at all times when we have guests, so none of our kids or friends will pop in, giving a dog or cat the chance to pop out.
About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong dog lover and current cat parent who would be happy to give your pets some extra love and attention while you’re away. I grew up with dogs ranging from small to large, so I’m comfortable around dogs of different sizes and personalities. I’m happy to take a well-trained dog for a walk, stop by for meals and fresh water, provide bathroom breaks, and make sure they get some companionship and attention while you’re gone. I also have experience living with a cat and would love to care for your feline friends as well. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, and am especially happy to help with adult or senior pets who appreciate a little extra patience and a relaxed approach. My goal is simple: to make sure your pets are safe, comfortable and cared for- and to give you peace of mind while you’re away. I’ll treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pets and see if I’m a good feel for your pet-care needs! I work full-time Monday-Friday in Carson, but let care fits nicely into my routine. If in Carson City, I can check in with pets on my lunch. Otherwise I am available for visits before or after work, evenings and weekends. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll follow your care instructions closely and provide dependable, respectful care in their familiar environment. Because I have a cat of my own, I don’t board pets in my home but I’m happy to care for them in yours, where they can stay comfortable in their own space and routine.

About: I’ve been pet sitting dogs and cats for the past 10 years and have experience caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. Having dogs and cats of my own has given me a strong understanding of how important it is for pets to feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding schedules, playtime, giving lots of attention, and making sure pets keep their usual routine so they feel at home. I am currently working part time and will be sure to provide my availability, so that together we can be sure your pet is given the best possible care. I will ensure your pet is well cared for while you're away, providing them with plenty of attention and care. They are family afterall.

With my years of experience caring for dogs—including senior and disabled dogs—I’m dependable, patient, and committed to providing them with the attention and care they need. My own dogs are walked every day and are very loved and spoiled. They are both seniors, so I’m experienced with providing them the extra attention, patience, and care that older dogs need. I make sure they’re comfortable, well cared for, and tended to according to their individual needs. I have a large house with a fenced in yard.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
